29/08/2025: Nothing to say about the food and the place but unfortunately we had a bad experience with a waitress who, besides being very rude, had almost aggressive attitudes even though we were always kind,

28/08/2025: We were looking forward to eating at this establishment because of all the good reviews but I was very disappointed. Especially with the service received from our waitress. She kept forgetting to bring things that we asked for, not once but twice. Once I had to actually get up and go inside the restaurant to get what I needed. People raved about the food but I didn’t think it was anything special. I had a pizza and it was just okay. I was expecting a Naples style pizza but it wasn’t like that at all. It was more of a focaccia styled pizza. The bruschetta was very good with multiple toppings on it. The jacket potatoes are overpriced if you order something that isn’t on the main menu. We paid €15 for a jacket potato! Plus, we paid €4 for a coke! One of my friends ordered a beer and only paid €2.50 for it. Granted, it was a small beer. Apparently, a lot of people love Il Ferracavallo because it was full on a week night. I think this place is overrated and the prices are too steep for a little town located out in the sticks. It’s not like it is in Rome. Sorry but I can’t recommend Il Ferracavallo for the experience I had there last night. I was shocked when I received the bill.

02/10/2025: The cured meats are excellent, and the meatballs are exceptional, while the pasta dishes could be improved. Good tiramisu. Local wines. Informal and friendly service in a charming little town worth visiting. We'll be back for a feast of meatballs.

24/08/2025: Il Cacciatore is the reference restaurant in the area, home-made cuisine, great quality and abundant dishes alone would be enough to define the place, but in addition the welcome, professionalism and great availability of the staff make it an even better place, and it doesn't end there, the prices are also very affordable. The quality-price ratio is incredible, you eat a lot, everything is delicious and you spend very little. If you pass through those parts you can't help but stop, but even if you live far away and want to take a trip, in any case you won't regret it 👍🏼

09/07/2025: Finalmente un gelato di qualità, ho potuto degustare il gelato di crema antica con babà e visciole superlativo! A differenza delle gelaterie classiche dove sono solo i colori a fare da padrone per invogliare le persone a scegliere, qui c’è ancora il vecchio carretto dei gelati , dove c’è solo la qualità a farla da padrone! Se passate ad Ortona questa è una tappa obbligata! Complimenti ancora !

28/06/2025: The best ice cream shop in Ortona and one of my favorites in general! I tried the pistachio, ricotta and scrucchiata and Petralia salt caramel with praline peanut flavors, all superb! Never tried such a creaminess and flavor! The Sicilian granita is out of this world!! Very honest prices! New flavors that I fell in love with: sweet pizza and yogurt 💖

11/09/2025: An excellent experience, one we'll definitely repeat! My partner and I stopped here for lunch on our way back from our vacation in Vasto, after visiting the beautiful village of Atri! Well, what can I say? Delicious food, a very kind waitress. We ordered an appetizer, shared a first course, and ate some delicious arrosticini with grilled vegetables. And then dessert and coffee... All at a price you'd dream of finding anywhere else, for the same quality! A place that will definitely remain in our memories, and one we hope to return to in the future.

09/09/2025: For Sunday lunch, two of us ordered a complete hot and cold appetizer, two first courses, one second course, one side dish, and one bottle of water. The service was quick and helpful.

08/09/2025: This was the best surprise of our entire stay in central Italy. We may have been lucky because there weren't many people. Everything was perfect. The garden is beautifully maintained and very beautiful. The pool is very pleasant with a view of Gran Sasso. We are 30 minutes from a beach on the Adriatic coast and 30 minutes from the cable car that goes up to Campo Imperatore. We ate very well at the restaurant, everything was perfect. Be careful though, they hold a lot of weddings on weekends, it's better to go during the week if you're a tourist. The icing on the cake is that the breakfast manager speaks a little French.

14/09/2025: I didn't expect it to be like this. Very clean, tidy, and well-organized. The staff was very kind, attentive, and very polite. The chef was excellent at cooking. Every dish was an explosion of flavor. Excellent, highly recommended.

03/09/2025: Everything was very good and of good quality, excellent service. The only flaw was that the bathrooms available were those of the beach resort.

05/10/2025: A welcoming, family-run restaurant just steps from the Castle, offering excellent homemade food. The owner is incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming, serving and describing his dishes with passion and energy. Each dish has a story and a reason for being there, and we were treated to a meticulous service throughout the meal, as were the other diners at the tables. Delicious food in a delightful atmosphere. We will definitely be back, and we sincerely thank the owner for the welcome and unexpected gift of a lovely bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which we will drink to his health! Highly recommended, and see you soon!

02/10/2025: Visited yesterday for lunch with friends, all experts in wine, terroir, and food. First-class hospitality and a meticulously curated menu, crafting ideas using top-quality local ingredients (grains, herbs, flowers, and select meats) crafted with inspiration and substance. Whether it's grain risotto with herbs and dandelion petals, or pork stew, or lamb with local herbs, you're spoiled for choice. Sandro Baliva manages everything with care, passion, and a surprising knowledge of the rural culture of the past, which he respectfully reinterprets in his dishes. A bonus is the location, just steps from Piccolomini Castle, and the view of the Fucino valley.

24/09/2025: The fish was delicious and very fresh. Excellent service, nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect.

04/10/2025: First and last time, the owner was incredibly rude, the prices sky-high for a well-located and carefully looked after delicatessen, but nothing exceptional, standard quality, paying €9 for three meatballs was shameful and embarrassing, we spent €23.50 for two eating two things, never again.

30/09/2025: On Sunday at lunch, I asked if there was room and was told, "I can't kick people out, can I?" I don't know who said that! He should have some chamomile tea if he has to answer in an unpleasant way! Anyway, we found a seat after a while... The "gentleman" has zero courtesy, it must be in his nature.... Keep your nature, your seat, and the 3 cheese and egg balls for €9....
