17/02/2026: We visited this pub during a weekday a couple of months ago, five of us, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't a positive one. We waited a long time before we could order, and the service overall wasn't satisfying. The quality of the food also disappointed us: some dishes weren't to our liking, and we couldn't finish them. That same night, two people in our group had a sleepless night, and overall, we didn't have a good time. We're sorry to say, but this time the experience didn't live up to expectations.

20/08/2025: Everything was very welcoming, the food was excellent, fresh fish cooked well, and the fried fish was fantastic, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, a sight to behold. The pizza was also very good, with fresh, tasty ingredients. The desserts were delicious. I highly recommend it!

15/08/2025: The atmosphere is quiet, and the staff are very kind and friendly. We had a seafood dinner, which was fresh and delicious. In short, the service and food were excellent. We come here often and definitely recommend it!

23/09/2025: After a long day of exploring Venice we had dinner at L’Osteria San Barnaba. We arrived late for our reservation, but the staff welcomed us warmly and never rushed us. I ordered the cuttlefish ink pasta, and it was extraordinary. The sauce clung to the noodles like velvet, rich and briny with the taste of the sea, faintly metallic in the best way. It even stained my tongue and fingers as I used bread to wipe up the last drops. My wife chose the homemade gnocchi in spider crab sauce, pillowy-soft dumplings bathed in a silky, flavorful sauce that she called some of the best gnocchi she’s ever had. We were there late into the night with glasses of Fratelli Brunello grappa, comparing tasting notes and enjoying the staff’s patience with my horrible Italian. Our server even smiled through my slow, deliberate attempt at a full sentence, encouraging me as if to say, “You’ve got this.” We laughed and made friends with a French couple at the next table, clinked glasses, and ended the night with a shared toast of limoncello. L’Osteria San Barnaba is the kind of place where food, wine, and warmth all come together. From the extraordinary pasta to the genuine hospitality, it’s a dinner we’ll be talking about for years.

22/09/2025: Very cosy, not too big, excellent vibes. Outside of mega tourist territory, but it's small enough that it doesn't feel touristy either way. Very coeliac friendly with very understanding staff. Gluten free pizza was decent by Italian standards and the best you've ever had by UK standards. Very affordable, good Aperol. Normal pizza was decent.

03/03/2026: Whether ordering over the phone for delivery or picking it up at the store, we've always had a positive and professional experience. The pizza dough is highly digestible. The ingredients are very good and fresh. If you pick it up, there's convenient streetside parking, making it easy. Always on time, clean place. Very competitive prices. If I may add a suggestion: a database to streamline certain processes (customer identification by number, for example) supported by a simple online platform. If we want to overdo it, a loyalty program. But these are things that have certainly already been evaluated by the owners and, for business reasons, discarded.

05/09/2025: I’ve been coming here for a few days now and I’m always satisfied. Perfect spot to grab a pizza to take to the beach – delicious taste, great prices, and super friendly service. Highly recommend!

24/09/2025: The seating right by the pool provides a great atmosphere, especially in the evenings. Child-friendliness is a given here. The food is all fresh and incredibly delicious. All dishes can also be ordered to go. Prices are standard and within normal range.

21/09/2025: Table of 10 ordered dishes. Spaghetti alla Busera €19.90, basically spaghetti with tomato sauce, shrimp and scampi not served. Cod Vicenza-style with polenta €25, good. Spaghetti with clams (not real ones), decent. Fried squid €20, good but poor, 70% chips. 8 bottles of water. No alcohol. 5 ice creams, total €30 per person. Personally, I won't be returning. The only positive thing is the service.

01/10/2025: The restaurant is located on the road from the beach. The sign says they also offer gluten-free pizza, which we were looking forward to. We planned to have lunch or dinner here. When we got there, they told us they don't do gluten-free pizza... You can imagine the disappointment and the quick search for an alternative.

07/03/2026: Inga and I loved the food - the epitome of simplicity, tradition, and highest quality. Al Mascarron doesn't need additional praise but it's hard to resist and not to say bravo, chef! We had lunch - fish soup and seafood pasta.
