10/05/2025: Un tempio del gusto. Locale tipico gestito dai due illuminati titolari. Crudi eccezionali, spaghetti alle vongole con un pizzico di bottarga, baccalà mantecato e poi noi ci siamo fermati ma c'era un menù veramente intrigante, ed una selezione di formaggi molto interessante. Da provare per godere a tavola come raramente accade.

18/05/2025: We had our last meal in Italy here and it was a perfect way to end our 10 days in Italy. The food was excellent and Jonathan made our meal extra special. The pasta dish we had was had, in cherry tomato sauce with burrata, was one of my favorites for the entire trip. We each chose a different grilled fish and they were both delicious. We were going to pass on dessert and get it elsewhere, but we saw the lemon custard and couldn't walk away. No regrets. We sat outside and watch the sun set. It really couldn't have been any more perfect.

23/05/2025: We stopped by by chance and loved it. We were intrigued by the menu, but ended up eating à la carte. We ordered lasagna Bolognese and spaghetti carbonara, and both dishes were truly delicious. The carbonara was al dente with a rich, well-blended sauce, and the lasagna was incredibly tender and juicy. I was surprised that they added ice to my Coca-Cola, as nowhere else I've eaten has it served like that. Highly recommended.

They pampered us, it's certainly not cheap but if you spend 30 euros to eat a pizza today I would say that this restaurant deserves to be paid the right amount. Thanks to all the staff

27/05/2025: A due passi dal Ponte di Rialto, non molto grande e sempre frequentatissimo, ovviamente obbligatorio prenotare con anticipo e soprattutto cercare orari non di punta perchè altrimenti i tempi di attesa diventano biblici e bisogna avere molta pazienza. Il menu è abbastanza ricco ed offre molte pietanze locali a base di pesce, ma obbligatoriamente deve tenere conto anche dei numerosi ospiti stranieri, per cui alcuni piatti vanno semplicemente ignorati. Il pesce è di ottima qualità e cucinato con cura e al momento, cosa che ovviamente allunga i tempi di attesa. Buono l'assortimento dei vini, mi sarei aspettato un po' di più dalla lista dei dolci, da cui personalmente ho scelto i biscottini da annegare in un ottimo Recioto. Rapporto qualità/prezzo non eccessivo, vista la posizione e la qualità della cucina.

10/03/2025: Ho cenato in questo ristorante per il mio compleanno 14-10-2024 insieme al mio compagno. Sono rimasta piacevolmente soddisfatta. La location è bellissima ed offre un clima rilassato ed elegante perfetto per coppie e cene romantiche. I piatti li ho trovati molto buoni e ricercati, e il servizio pone in attenzione al cliente eccellente! Ho per sbaglio rotto un bicchiere con il vino al suo interno, e la cameriere non solo me l’ha sostituito ma anche riempito totalmente ed è stato super apprezzato. I piatti sono raffinati ed eleganti e il sapore una cosa fantastica! Inoltre nonostante a primo impatto sembra ci sia una poca quantità, vi assicuro che sono ben bilanciati e non tornate a casa affamati. I prezzi sono adeguati, forse leggermente sopra la media ma ne vale la pena. Inoltre so che fanno buonissimi aperitivi ma questo devo ancora provarlo. Ci tornerò.

19/05/2025: Dopo avervi pranzato e cenato in diverse occasioni, sono venuto per un aperitivo con un collega. Atmosfera molto carina all'aperto e nonostante la via sia di passaggio, si sta bene. Cicchetti a dir poco eccezionali: preparati al momento in modo da gustarli freschissimi, a differenza di altri posti che li hanno già pronti. Vale la pena attendere pochi minuti per un prodotto top.

04/06/2025: Very nice cutlery and dishes and a great atmosphere, especially outside. The menu isn't particularly extensive; I would have liked a few more options. However, they kindly accommodated my special requests and made me an (excellent) pasta aglio e olio as a starter. For my main course, I had a lamb dish, which was quite good but a bit too fatty for my taste. Service was excellent.

03/06/2025: Gio’s at St. Regis Venice – A Beautiful Setting with a Deeply Flawed Experience As a frequent traveller and someone who appreciates refined dining, I had high hopes for lunch at Gio’s at the St. Regis Venice but what unfolded was one of the most rigid and underwhelming dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory. Let’s start with the menu policy, which is frankly astonishing. Diners are required to order a minimum of two courses per person, no exceptions. Even more baffling: if you wish to share a dish, there’s an additional €20 fee per shared item. I’ve dined across the globe and have never encountered anything so restrictive or inhospitable. We chose the five-course tasting menu, expecting a journey through the chef’s best creations. Instead, we were served dishes that looked decent but lacked depth, flavor, or any real character. It was not bad but for a place of this caliber, it was entirely forgettable. To be fair, the wine we ordered was excellent, and the setting is undeniably beautiful, with serene views and elegant decor. The staff, while professional, seemed more focused on enforcing the structure than making guests feel welcomed. Despite everything, we still left a 10% tip, bringing our total to about €220 per person for lunch, a price point that demands an extraordinary experience. Unfortunately, this was not it. Bottom line: The views are lovely, the wine list is solid, but the rigid policies and underwhelming food make this a one-time visit at best. Venice has many exceptional restaurants. Gio’s is not one of them.
