27/03/2025: If you are out to try chichetti make this a must-stop. The items were high-end and priced similar to the generic fried items you find elsewhere. Only a few wine choices but they were very good. Atmosphere a little more subdued and most seating was indoor, but the food was so amazing this ended up being our favorite stop.

28/03/2025: We chose to have lunch here, after taking a look at the restaurant's offer. We tried the appetizer consisting of creamed cod, boiled octopus and sardines in saor. Unfortunately we found the cod to have a strange and unpleasant taste, so much so that I wasn't able to eat it and the head of the octopus was dirty (a shame because it was excellent and very soft!). We communicated this to the staff and were told that the cod was fine as it was and the baby octopus was better if served with the offal. Alas, it will be a matter of taste. Other than that, the sardines were excellent. We then had spaghetti with clams and bigoli in sauce, tasty seasoning and excellent quality fresh pasta. Despite the inconvenience of the starter, I would return to try the rest of the menu, as it offers traditional dishes. Excellent quality/price ratio, even if I would have halved the cost of the starter, working in catering, I know how important it is to recognize any errors during a service.

03/04/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant on the recommendation of the owner of the farmhouse where we were staying. The San Giuseppe restaurant is located in Castel d'Ario Mantua. The large and welcoming, well-furnished restaurant is renowned for its risottos. The menu offers a variety of traditional dishes, made with genuine homemade products. We ordered the pilot risotto with puntel (ribs) and the boiled meat, a symposium of flavours. To finish, the sbrisolona accompanied with zabaglione and grapes under grappa. The staff is friendly and attentive to satisfy all customer requests/needs. The price is adequate for the quality and preparation of the dishes. Advised.

10/04/2025: For those who are vegetarian or vegan and want to treat themselves to an evening of culinary pampering, this is the ideal place. An intimate and very well-kept place, with beautiful tree trunks that create an enveloping and green atmosphere. We chose the 5-course tasting, one better than the other. A service of unique hospitality and friendliness, with the owner who told us the philosophy of her culinary proposal, cruelty free and attentive to the quality and seasonality of the products. And you can feel the result. We liked it so much that we didn't remember to take photos, we were too busy enjoying the evening.

10/03/2025: I would like to point out that I am neither vegetarian nor vegan and I believe that it is important not to limit yourself to these "labels", but to be curious and try before drawing conclusions. We must say that we were really satisfied with it! We chose the tasting menu and it was a pleasant surprise, a nice trip. I don't give 5 stars, but I want to explain and justify my ratings: 4 stars for the food: out of six courses, two dishes were sensational, one very good and three "simply" good. Among the best dishes, the artichoke with fried leek was truly exceptional, while the radicchio and apple risotto was a little too sweet for my tastes. (I attach photos of the dishes) 4 stars for the service: the lady in the room was professional and pleasant, even if with some small uncertainties. Personally, I would have preferred a little quicker times between one course and another, even if I recognize that the sense of waiting is subjective. 5 stars for the environment: the atmosphere is clean, quiet and bright, there is a nice energy! As for the price, I found it absolutely consistent and correct for the experience offered. (I attach photo of receipt) Overall, I highly recommend it! Even if I don't give 5 stars because I am aware that I am not exactly in their target group, I believe that anyone, even those like me who are simply curious to explore a "different" cuisine, can enjoy this experience Compliments.

09/04/2025: There was a Turco pizza that started with V, we bought it. We really liked the ingredients etc. It was very delicious. You can also buy your wine from the nearby spar market and sit and eat by the canal.

09/04/2025: Trust everything you read in the reviews, but nice words are not enough to truly understand the level of this restaurant. We chose La Pergola as the location for our wedding because we had heard so many good things about it, and it was the best choice we could have made. Being residents of Venice, we had also visited other locations, but we stopped here, because for the first time, we didn't feel like a simple number. The location is wonderful, with attention to every detail, surrounded by greenery and with elegant and very spacious interior spaces. But the added value is Pietro and his staff, who, with their professionalism and friendliness, made us feel calm and supported right from the first meeting, giving us very valid advice dictated by their many years of experience (which is fundamental during the organization of the wedding, which in itself can be stressful given the many things to think about). The menu test was a beautiful evening that we still remember with pleasure today. But let's get to the wedding day! The weather forecast was terrible, and we had planned to have our wedding outside. I was literally in a panic, but Pietro managed to calm me down. It rained practically all day, but we didn't notice anything, on the contrary, the atmosphere with the rain was truly magical, especially in the evening! The ceremony inside was beautiful, everything was very elegant and the large windows make you feel as if you were outside. Plus they still managed to let us use some outdoor spaces despite the rain, so plan B really works here! The food is amazing, even today our guests talk to us about our wedding and remember with pleasure the buffet, the dishes and the wine pairing (I'm writing the review in April and we got married in October, so 6 months later and the euphoria hasn't passed yet). Time management was impeccable, certainly the result of their experience. There would be many other things to tell, but I won't dwell further, simply if we had to go back we would choose the Pergola 100 more times!

04/03/2025: The place was very nice although as we were the only ones in the room on a Sunday evening the atmosphere was a bit cold. Friendly and helpful staff. Very bold dishes with very strong flavours, sometimes to the point of losing the balance of the dishes themselves. Fantastic wine pairing!
