04/06/2025: We went today on the advice of an acquaintance, we had an aperitif with a platter of Tuscan specialties made by them, everything was excellent, the staff were polite and friendly, including the owner, the price was excellent for everything we ate, if we return we will definitely stop here, thanks Laura and Marco

02/05/2025: Not so great. If you sit outside, they charge you double for the little cakes (really unreasonable and crazy price) - without any notification. Even if this is the way to do in Italy, they could have maybe said something. And the pastry is not even so good. Really disappointing.

04/06/2025: We just stayed in Lucca for a month and Macon Lescaut was very close to where we stayed. We enjoyed several breakfasts and lunches here and were never disappointed. Everything was always fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. The service was very friendly and it was nice when the server would remember us. It is right in Piazza Cittadella so also great for people watching!

24/05/2025: I am really sorry to have to leave this review, because I have been a customer for many years and have always been satisfied with both the cakes and orders and the service at the counter. However, this is now the fourth time that I have had a disappointing experience: I usually go to get large yogurt to take away and the last few times I have been served by a young girl who I believe is new. Unfortunately, the amount of yogurt that is given to me is clearly less than usual: it seems more like a small yogurt, even though I pay for it as a large (5 euros). Every time I try to be very clear with my request, but the additional ingredients are often wrong, and I find myself finding sauces or toppings that I did not ask for. This evening, once again, I had the same problem. When I commented that the portion seemed small for a large, the girl replied in an annoyed way saying that it was actually a large portion. What's more, I found myself with a berry sauce that I had not asked for. I want to point out that I have only encountered these problems with this employee and I am sorry, I did not go back to have it changed because I realize that, in the end, it is just an ice cream. But as a customer, it also annoys me to have to pay for a small amount of yogurt as if it were large and receive what I requested. I hope this report can help improve the service..

12/03/2025: Soggiorno: Marzo 2017 Locale di buon impatto visivo, sobrio ma curato e accogliente. Personale preparato e molto disponibile nello spiegare il menu. Il cibo buono ma senza eccellere. Piatti piuttosto elaborati e non privi di un certo coraggio. A mio avviso il menu è un po troppo limitato nella scelta delle portate. Buona cantina e rapporto qualità prezzo accettabile.

01/12/2024: Abbiamo fatto un fine settimana a Lucca e a cena ci siamo recati in questo locale . La scelta è stata ottima abbiamo mangiato pesce e tutto più che buono . Il personale gentile e professionale . Quando torneremo a Lucca sicuramente sarà un punto di riferimento per la cena .

12/04/2025: Lovely experience where you can make your own ice cream with toppings, sauces and sweets. It’s calculated on weight at a reasonable price. It is a great experience to try when in Lucca.

18/03/2025: La mia recensione vuole essere una sveglia per il proprietario. Sono diversi anni che frequento questo locale e faccio diversi chilometri per raggiungerlo perché il gelato è sempre stato buono. Dunque anche se mi era scomodo, mi invogliava a superare il limite della distanza e del parcheggio distante. Domenica 16 marzo però è stato uno shock. Un gelato con gusti insapore, evidentemente la meteria prima era lesinata per risparmiare deduco. In tutti i gusti provati, si sentiva una leggera brina di fondo, cosa che non avevo mai trovato. Al contrario il gelato ha sempre avuto una cremosità sopra la media. Ma il colpo finale l'ho avuto quando ho visto alla cassa che costava praticamente 30 euro al kg, roba da far invidia ai brend più rinomati che spendono cifre assurde nel marketing. Ora voglio chiedere al proprietario: ha intenzione di chiudere? Perché se quella è l'intenzione, fa prima a chiudere subito. Non ha senso scacciare i clienti in questo modo. Io capisco che i costi per tenere aperto un locale oggi giorno siano alti, ma risparmiare sulla qualità e alzare il prezzo a livelli immorali contemporaneamente, non ha senso. La prego: riveda la sua politica commerciale oppure chiuda direttamente il locale, perchè l'esperienza da cliente abituale è pessima in tutta franchezza.

22/12/2024: Questa è la mia esperienza: La caratteristica di questo ristorante è l'utilizzo di ingredienti genuini per lo più a chilometro zero, questa scelta, unita alla bravura della cuoca o cuoco, non so... , che si avvale sicuramente di quella tradizione gastronomica spesso tramandata di generazione in generazione, generano piatti dal sapore sincero unito a tocchi di originalità e di novità. La pizza è la migliore che io abbia mai mangiato, la pasta è spettacolare e per il condimento...beh...già detto sopra. Prezzi onesti

The environment is in the elegant style of the area, simple but refined at the same time. The staff is extremely attentive, thoughtful, professional. The menu is interesting, the dishes are delicious, delicious, never banal. The wine list is noteworthy.
