27/09/2025: It pains me to write this negative review. I love this place. The atmosphere is chic and sophisticated. I went for lunch with my husband and ordered only one dish, the seafood steamer, because I wanted something light. Unfortunately, my plate was piled high with mayonnaise! How can you ruin our delicious local fish with such a heavy sauce?! I really don't know what the chef was thinking! My husband then ordered the seafood grill, and luckily I promptly told the waiter to put the mayonnaise aside, because otherwise the plate would have definitely arrived with a kilo of mayonnaise on it. The bill was very steep. I'm sorry, but unless they change the format, I won't be going there again.

19/10/2025: I asked the waitress if it was possible to split the bill, and she said yes. At the counter, I reiterated my desire to split the bill (so the total divided by 2, very simple) and specified that I wanted to pay in cash. In a very pedantic and impolite manner, the cashier said, "If you could tell me how many of you there are..." when two minutes earlier he had personally said we could split, and there were only two of us in front of the counter, which didn't imply there were more than one of us. Perhaps a little politeness and kindness wouldn't hurt, since I expressed my request very politely. A smile doesn't cost much, and politeness even less. :)

29/09/2025: Excellent bar, wonderful food, especially the two chefs, Carmine and Angie, who were very kind. When I asked about the menu, the seafood carbonara was excellent. I will definitely be back.

29/10/2025: I'm disappointed to see how the food quality has deteriorated in two years. I went to this place for dinner on Saturday night after not being there for a couple of years; I'd always had a good experience there before, so I decided to return. Everything was pretty good as long as we ate cooked food (the spring rolls weren't bad, and neither were the ravioli, but the latter were already worse than I remembered). The real sore point was the sushi: both the raw and cooked ones were inedible. The rice seemed OVERCOOKED, and had been there for who knows how long, the fish was bland, and all you could taste was the mushy rice, which was stomach-churning and made each roll heavy to digest (I've attached a photo). So we ordered mochi, hoping to make up for it, but there was yet another disappointment: the mochi were served FROZEN, with ice on top. After having to leave six rolls because they were inedible, they even made us pay a penalty, even after explaining that the food hadn't been finished because they were too hungry. We were also treated badly because we pointed out that the food didn't seem fresh. Absurd. If they had simply apologized, I would have let it go, but after being treated badly, I strongly discourage and review the place.

30/08/2025: It's raining. I enter the bar to get out of the rain. I ask for a coffee. A member of the staff behind the counter shouts loudly: "Let's hope it rains harder and harder so all the tourists go home, they're a pain in the ass." They're a genius! Their behavior is unspeakable, rude, and boorish. A complete lack of respect for the customer. I won't be going back.

29/06/2025: Never again! €25 menu... half a slice of bread with tomato, half a slice of bread with sausage, a starter of beans and cereals, two thin medals of meat and peas and... STOP! Two jugs of wine for 40 people, two cokes and a few bottles of water. At the end of the evening the owner made us pay separately for the amaro... €2!!! SCANDALOUS

Alessandro isn't just good: he's a true artist behind the bar. He knows how to mix flavors with the same mastery he has of reading people. He looks at you for a second and already knows what kind of drink is right for you, whether you need an energy boost, a moment of relaxation, or a liquid embrace that lifts you up. His manner is polite, never intrusive but always present, with that sincere smile that makes you forget bad days. He has the rare talent of making every customer feel special, as if you were a regular, even if it's your first time. The bar is meticulously crafted: a warm and relaxing atmosphere, soft lighting, and refined yet never snobbish decor. The music is always perfectly calibrated and accompanies you without disturbing you. You can tell that every choice here is made with love, passion, and incredible customer care. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, but it's by relying on Alessandro that you really take it to the next level: he knows how to surprise, recommend, and invent. Every drink is an experience, served with style, precision, and a personal touch you won't find anywhere else. Even a simple gin and tonic in his hands becomes a moment to remember. And then there's that intangible something that can't be explained without experiencing it: the good energy you breathe, the feeling of being in the right place at the right time. The Lebowski is more than a bar. It's a haven of emotion, a place to let go, laugh, confide, or simply enjoy the moment. In short: 5 stars aren't enough to describe what this place and Alessandro offer. It's become my favorite place in Lucca, and every time I return, I leave a little happier. 20/07/2025: A true hidden gem with an outstanding beer selection — easily the best we came across during our entire month in Italy. They feature a thoughtful lineup of local craft beers, several of which were absolute standouts and unlike anything we’d tasted elsewhere on our travels. Whether you’re a seasoned beer enthusiast or just curious to try something local, this place won’t disappoint. The owner was equally impressive — friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what he does. He has a genuine talent for mixing up personalized cocktails on the spot, simply based on your preferences. Just mention what flavours or spirits you like and watch him work his magic. It made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and elevated. Between the exceptional drinks, the laid-back atmosphere, and the warm hospitality, this spot became one of our favorite watering holes of the trip. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys great drinks served with heart and style.

15/11/2025: The food is acceptable for a bar, but the real flaw is the staff!! Absolutely rude, with one blonde waitress being truly rude, impolite, and rude! These staff make the place look bad and scare away customers.

12/10/2025: Hmm. That was a truly disappointing experience. The pizza dough was terribly dry by Italian standards, even though it was supposedly a Neapolitan pizza, and it basically tasted of nothing.

02/09/2025: If I could give a zero, I would. Last week. I was craving food, I was out walking, and I hadn't been to Michele's in years: I said to myself, let's go. I wish I'd never done it. 3 euros for a small square of microbial pizza. Let's remember that, given the average price of pizza in Lido and the size of the square, it would mean paying between 30 and 40 euros for a standard whole pizza. But let's talk about pizza. The worst motorway service station makes them better. Microbial little pieces of rubbery dough. The mozzarella on top looks like the kind used on cheap frozen pizzas. Dry and barely topped. I wanted to throw it away. Then, remembering I'd overpaid for it, I forced myself to finish it. I'll never go there again, not even under torture. Calling this shapeless substance "pizza" would be like calling vomit a rich selection of appetizers from Michelin-starred chefs.
