11/07/2025: We know the food here is good, but the staff is grumpy and unaccommodating. There is very little space inside and we were seated at the bar next to the cash register and way to close to another table. It was very uncomfortable and awkward; we asked to move twice to one of two free tables or the larger bar space but they rudely declined, claiming they wanted to save if other customers came, despite us being ready to order. We ended up leaving because it was too uncomfortable to enjoy a meal.

08/07/2025: Excellent and unique little pastry shop in Florence, via delle Ruote corner via San Zanobi. Austrian style pastry shop. Everything super good. Rainer also bakes excellent bread. It is also a pleasant place for the friendliness of the manager and the staff.

I have used the service often and it is top. ---------------------------------------------- Excellent ice cream shop near the Cathedral of Santa Croce. There are several in Florence, this being a chain of ice cream shops. The ice cream is creamy and they have many flavors available. One of the best ice creams eaten in Florence. The prices are a bit high, but it is difficult to find a better ice cream at a lower price since that area is very expensive. The place is small and the staff is fast and courteous. You can pay both by card and cash.

26/06/2025: As we walked in, the bright colors of the creamy gelato got our sweet tooth ready for an incredible treat. Mary ordered the dark chocolate, and I had the combination of strawberry and lemon after sampling several flavors. This was undoubtedly the best we could remember ever having. We had to taste Mary’s dark chocolate. Deep, rich chocolate flavors burst into your mouth. Just fantastic. Our entire group agreed that this was the best gelato they had in Florence. The shop offers around twenty flavors, including gluten-free options, as well as cups, cones, and excellent service with generous portions. We felt extremely satisfied. It is not clear when Antica Geletaria Fiorentina first opened, but we do know that gelato has been in Florence since the 16th Century. Bernardo Buontalenti, an architect for the Medici family, is credited with inventing Florentine Cream, as it was known at the time. He used a combination of milk, honey, egg yolk, and wine for this delicious, cool dessert. Authentic gelato is typically light in color and made with basic ingredients. This small but inviting shop, tucked away on a quiet side street, is just a stone’s throw from the Duomo. A visit should be a must after an afternoon of sightseeing or after a Florentine dinner.

05/06/2025: Best Gelato in Florence! There is a wide range of Flavours such as pecorino cheese and olive oil. The fruit tastes beautiful and is freshly sourced and made fresh every day. The Granita is the best I have ever had it is so fruity and Authentic. The owner is very helpful when choosing flavours and a kind lady.
