01/09/2025: Dinner in a secluded and very romantic corner of a small square in Ortigia. Dishes cooked with love and generous portions, delicious octopus! The owner is friendly and kind. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

15/08/2025: Too bad! A very nice and quiet place found via The Fork. Tables under a 14th-century building. The food, however, was nothing special: The grilled octopus was chewy, and the pasta with pistachios and shrimp lacked flavor. The guy who served us was nice and kind. I hope they can improve; the place has great potential!

24/12/2025: A bar where the pastries are of excellent quality

21/12/2025: We went for breakfast this morning. The pieces looked inviting and large. I ordered a pistachio croissant and asked for it to be reheated. As soon as the barista brought it to me, it wasn't the same croissant as before: it had completely wilted and deflated, becoming a small piece of wrinkled pastry. The only positive note was the pistachio, which was very good. My companion ordered a graffa, which was neither good nor bad. No, we won't be returning.

10/05/2026: Although we only had 2.5 days in Syracuse, we ate here twice for lunch! The restaurant is colorful, artistically designed, visually stunning, and authentically located right in the middle of the market (of course, it's loud, not clean, and chaotic at the market – that's part of the experience). The pasta scoglio and the mixed antipasti were especially excellent and will stay with us for a long time :)

29/04/2026: This noon we had the mixed Antipasti plate which was good. Fritto misto was ok sind the sardines were very small. Swordfish and gamberetti were good but not special. But what we have seen at the table next to us we couldn’t believe, but may this normal in this area: they served arancini with ragout and white rice inside. I haven’t seen this before and I always eat arancini wherever I can get some. And always there were yellow risotto inside. Moderate prices.

18/05/2026: We dined at this restaurant last summer, and so today, mindful of the kindness of the maître d' who greeted us after a concert, despite the late hour, we returned with great pleasure. My appreciation today is for that kind "Lady" whom we had asked to charge a cell phone that, alas, had died and which was used both as a navigation system for the return journey and for digital payment. Most gracious lady, given that you are not the owner of the restaurant, please step down from your pedestal and, rather than denying a courtesy to your customers, learn to serve the interests of the company that feeds you. My respects.

23/11/2025: We had a family gathering for lunch, and a local relative decided to choose this restaurant. Very good, with generous portions. The ricotta is homemade, so you can taste it's truly artisanal. Highly recommended.

16/05/2026: If you are in a hurry I do not recommend it because not only did I order the pizzas in advance because I had a personal commitment, on top of that the excuse was "it's Saturday"

04/05/2026: I frequent it for breakfast, but it's packed at all hours. The service is prompt and professional, the atmosphere is clean and well-kept, and the breakfast is decent and affordable.

26/10/2025: Never again gluten-free arancini. Rating: 0. Ordered a day in advance, but in my opinion they were made in the morning and packaged for the evening. Rightly so, they were extremely cold. Disappointed. The cake, however, was good.

03/10/2025: This is certainly a well-known pastry shop, but that doesn't mean the employees can be rude to customers, especially one very annoyed woman who even complained to the owner, who in turn didn't reprimand the employee. The writing on the cake I ordered was poorly done. They've definitely lost a customer. I highly recommend this pastry shop, unless you know the owner.

02/05/2026: I tried the pizzotto, one of their specialties, delicious. We had the one stuffed with chicken and one with speck and arugula. Of course, we couldn't miss the one with Nutella. All three were delicious. I recommend it.

08/02/2026: Wide selection of pizzas and pizzoli. Welcoming atmosphere. Good service. Fair value. I had the pizzoli last night, with pumpkin and speck, porchetta with cheese shavings, broccoli and sausage. For dessert, the Nutella one and the ricotta and honey one. I recommend it.

21/09/2025: Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. We sat down with good intentions based on the reviews, but unfortunately, the kitchen had some problems that they couldn't fix. So, after an hour of waiting, for which the restaurant is obviously not responsible, we had to ask for bread that hadn't been brought, and the table light was dim. Subsequently, they informed us of the kitchen problem and completely cancelled the dish. We waited even longer... only to be served two flavorless entrees. Our biggest disappointment was that, having a small child, it was difficult to make him wait so long, and in the end, he practically ate bread! The glass of wine we had ordered was added to my receipt, but it was never brought to us. They finally asked if they could offer us a liqueur, but after almost two hours, we declined because we were exhausted from our stay. The staff was numerous, but they were wandering around without anything. Overall, a bad experience.

11/05/2026: Spectacular in every way. What they now call the "location" is a fairytale, a truly beautiful place. Miriam, the woman we spoke with for our event, was very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to our requests and needs. Not everyone asks for permission to add additional tables in the room reserved for us, which ensures that the attention paid to those who book with them for any event isn't simply a reservation, it's customer service, and that made me very happy. This is the place where I celebrated 25 years of marriage, my daughter's first communion, and other events, as well as a simple (excellent) pizza with family or friends. The very refined cuisine and attentive service staff (you don't have to ask for anything, no water? It comes automatically) make Casale my favorite in the province of Syracuse. Prices? Much lower than other places in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant and pizzeria. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

17/09/2025: Well-stocked bar, home-made high-quality chocolate. Excellent coffee. The only downside is that takeout service can be a bit slow.

14/04/2026: A beautiful inn set in an 18th-century shop, with friendly staff and superb dishes. The seafood couscous and deconstructed cannoli are highly recommended.

12/04/2026: Locanda Scorfano Rosso, what can I say? A beautiful, sunny, relaxing day turned into a disaster!!! 🥺🥺 I highly recommend other great restaurants in Augusta!!! As soon as we arrived, they sat us outside, in an area where someone would come out to smoke every two minutes. Result: we spent the wait wafting smoke and listening to the curses coming from the kitchen...instead of enjoying a seafood lunch. When the menu finally arrived, we discovered the choice was limited to roughly four courses, including an appetizer, first course, and second course. But the worst was yet to come: in the end, you couldn't even choose, because many dishes were "out of stock," "sold out," or "we're not making them today." Basically, you just have to order whatever they decide, with no real alternative. A seafood restaurant should focus on quality, hospitality, and service. Here, instead, we found disorganization, poor customer service, and zero transparency... Not to mention the prices, maybe it's better to eat at Cracco's!!!

05/12/2025: A good location for those who want to visit the city and Ortigia during the day, not at night. Everything is within easy reach, the room is impeccably clean, parking is adjacent, in front of the stadium, the bar staff downstairs and connected to the B&B are truly smiling and super friendly, and the staff are more welcoming than the owners...a rare treat...absolutely recommended.
