25/12/2024: I was deeply disappointed being your customer. I made the reservation a month and a half ago for Christmas lunch, I had to leave because of how they had located the table with air current and continuous passage of waiters and customers.....I kindly asked the dining room staff if we could change places he replied that the tables were set by now....what kind of work did he have to do to remove two place settings from a table for four....I'm sorry for inappropriate behavior

19/01/2025: We went to this pizzeria last night with some friends, attracted by the good reviews and with rather high expectations. The environment is pleasant and the staff was friendly and helpful. The pizzoli were rather disappointing, too hard and almost devoid of seasoning. Unbalanced value for money, for what we ate including the chips everything was really expensive.

30/03/2025: Their special pizza (the thicker one) was unique, made with a tastier dough and better tomatoes. The pasta special with local fennel was delicious and a wheat pasta. I thought the fennel was a little bit strong and needed some acid to contrast the flavor, however I still enjoyed. The prices were a little more than other similar food I had in Sicily. I enjoyed my dining experience here overall!

Disfrutamos del almuerzo allí el mes pasado en una excursión de un día desde Ragusa Isla donde nos alojamos. Su versión de caponata era excelente, al igual que todo lo que comimos. Me alegro de haber encontrado Amacord

17/10/2024: Our experience was truly magnificent! The staff and owner Lusy proved to be truly exquisite, welcoming and with excellent care and attention to the customer that was decidedly unique. Rich and quality breakfast, cleanliness and beautiful swimming pool. The structure and the rooms are wonderful, there is a lot of freedom and privacy and you can feel a homely and extremely sweet atmosphere. For us it was not just a simple accommodation but a real experience, thank you and we will see you soon! We will definitely be back! Julia ;)

13/10/2024: A small treasure chest that gives you new details, colors and emotions every day. We found a place near beautiful beaches and splendid places, elegant rooms, cleanliness, an excellent sweet and savory breakfast (also on request), a real swimming pool also for swimming in October. A special memory goes to Mrs. Ilaria, a special hostess who made us feel at ease as if we were at a friend's house.

12/03/2025: after many recommendations regarding my serious food intolerance, they served me a meal that sent me straight to the emergency room.... the staff is so kind that in order not to tell me no they thought it best to poison me

28/01/2025: If you want to eat at the diner, go elsewhere! Polite and friendly staff, but for the rotisserie if I could give less stars I would.... Almost poor quality and no taste in addition to the fact that the prices are very high and it is absolutely not worth it. For the rest, excellent for drinking a good coffee and having lunch with first courses And second courses.

10/04/2025: A shocking experience from start to finish. I’ll keep to the facts: 1. We asked for a wine list but were only offered white or red. We opted for 3 x white, 2 x red and a beer. 2. The white poured was undrinkable - think vinegar. The red offered was rose. We specified red and on the second time poured it was still rose. 3. We yet again asked for a wine list but still not given one. The red finally arrived and yet again was undrinkable. 4. We were finally given a wine list and chose what we wanted. Both the white and the red wine were beautiful. 5. My husband’s beer (bottled Messina) tasted weird. On a closer look it was out of date by 3 months. 6. The food order taking was shambolic. The waiter had to check four times what we had ordered. 10 minutes later they came back and re-checked. The order was wrong. We worked yet again with the staff to confirm what we wanted - 1 x seabass with pistachio crumb, 2 x baked seabass, 1 x tuna, 2 x scampi pasta, 2 x potatoes and 1 x caponata. 7. The food arrived and the order was wrong. 3 x Seabass with pistachio crumb which was a cheap crumbed fried fish fillet on a bed of spinach and olives. 1 x tuna, 1 x scampi pasta, 1 x potatoes and 1 x caponata. 8. This meant one of our party was missing a meal, two had the wrong order and we were missing a side of potatoes. 9. 15 minutes later they said that the second scampi pasta was ready. By then we were over the experience and cancelled it. The second potatoes never arrived. 10. We asked for the bill. They tried to offer us gifts of wine or desert but we were ready to leave so politely declined. 11. When presented with the first bill there were a number of additional items included equating to €60 - most comically 5 fish (we only had 3, and 2 of those were wrong!). 12. It took 3 attempts to get the bill correct. 13. No compensation given with regards to a reduction in the bill and an insistence on us paying the cover charge. 14. I have never been to such a badly run, disorganised restaurant in any of the countries that I have travelled in, I have travelled widely. Unfortunately there are a couple of lovely waitresses that try and make life easier and more efficient but due to the egos of male owners the staff are not empowered to do so. I understand that there can be a language barrier when travelling to different countries and our Italian is limited to say the least. However, there are solutions around this and numbers on the menu seem to work elsewhere in Ortigio. Maybe this is something to consider.

22/10/2024: Enchantingly Italian...the outdoor area of ​​the restaurant is located in the large gate of the house and is beautifully decorated with colorful wall sculptures. In Sicily's hot weather it is quite pleasant to sit there, especially since there were no crowds of tourists passing our table. The meal was excellent. We had a large starter platter that left nothing to be desired and various pastas. All very tasty.

20/10/2024: Beautiful aesthetics which drew us in but the food was a massive let down. Meatballs were so dry inedible no sauce and served with a very plain 'frozen' type wedge. Ravioli was so thick and dense with little filling it was inedible. One of the party never received his food!Party of 6 and all disappointed.

17/12/2024: This morning I had breakfast with a walnut and honey braid and a barley coffee for the modest cost of €3, not even in Taormina or perhaps I was mistaken for a tourist but alas I am a full-blooded Avolese.

11/01/2025: I went in to make a sandwich but the work surface and the slicer were invaded by pigeons. Having pointed this out to the clerks present, it seemed like the most normal thing in the world. I left disgusted and craving a sandwich too. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
