01/08/2025: Panineria Smile is a real guarantee! The staff is extremely courteous, always smiling, and ready to satisfy every request with professionalism. But the real highlight is the grilled sandwiches with meat and meatballs, prepared over live charcoal, as per Catania tradition. The flavor is authentic, intense, and truly irresistible. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a passion for every bite. A must-try for anyone who wants to eat well and feel at home. Highly recommended!

19/06/2025: Leaving aside the failure to deliver a maki, after spending 150 euros I find myself receiving a hot product that does not respect the "cold chain" (which is not appropriate for a delicate dish like sushi). As you can see from the photos, the fish looks ugly, has a dubious consistency - an appearance that makes you think of a spoiled product - and above all has a highly unpleasant flavor. I hope it was an unfortunate exception, but I doubt it. PS: The delicacy in the delivery is remarkable: the soy sauce was inside a plastic cup covered with transparent film and the entire order was served in two makeshift plastic bags.

07/12/2025: AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Today at 12:30, McDonald's was almost completely empty. I only counted two tables occupied, and we waited over 25 minutes for two menus. When my husband asks where the sandwiches were, an employee replies, "We'll bring them right away," while the manager (I think) steps in and asks in a rude and surly tone, "What's the problem?" When my husband replies, "I've been waiting 25 minutes for two menus, including children's menus," she replies, "25 minutes is impossible, that's not our time limit." At that point, my husband shows her the receipt with the time of payment and shows her his watch to show her the time. Her response, still in a rude and surly tone, is, "So?! Just wait and it'll come to you." From there, it ended in an argument because my husband then responded in kind, and the lady turned into a complete beast, starting to touch him, push him, provoke him in every way, and get face-to-face. CHOOSE YOUR STAFF CAREFULLY AND CAREFULLY, BECAUSE THE "LADY" INSIDE CLEARLY DOESN'T WANT TO WORK. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. We even went to the Carabinieri to report it; we'll see if she continues to behave like this towards the public.

06/12/2025: I was with my daughter at the Pv di San Giovanni la Punta i Portali... Excessively slow and poor service.... Even though there wasn't much of a rush at lunch, we waited a long time for table service... Despite the long wait times, they forgot an item... I sent my daughter to the counter and, leaving her waiting for at least ten minutes, stopped a girl who went between the tables explaining the situation... She went to the counter and handed over the nuggets which, by the way, were ready in a bag... After waiting, the food obviously got cold... Among other things, even the piadina that had just arrived was already cold... We often go to MC but the quality of this store needs a complete overhaul... Cold food and less than one-star service. We won't be returning.

19/08/2025: The best granita we've had in all of Sicily. We were on vacation for 15 days and ordered granita every day throughout the island. Without a doubt, we had the best here. The pistachio and almond flavors were exquisite, and the chocolate granita was also very special. The brioche was also delicious. Highly recommended.

30/11/2025: I can't give 0 stars, but I would if I could. The food is of very poor quality. You pay too much for what you eat. Never again.

27/11/2025: I was a regular, but then with COVID I stopped going... I have to say, unfortunately, it's gotten worse; the food isn't as good as it used to be. I was disappointed. Little variety of sushi, the pasta wasn't good at all, and the food was cold... I'm sorry, it's no longer the restaurant I knew.

10/07/2025: My experience at this bar was terrible. They're serving breakfast at a nearby tourist accommodation, and despite having informed me when I made the reservation and in the days prior that a gluten-free breakfast would be required, they didn't specify that it wouldn't be possible, nor did they give me anything at all to eat. At Bar Ambasciatori, they only offered me a coffee and a glass of water each of the three days we stayed. On one occasion, they even told me that if I wanted another coffee, I'd have to pay for it, but I didn't get anything to eat. I went hungry the first two days, and on the third, I brought food I bought at Lidl myself. The accommodation tried to talk to the bar, but the result was the same. I ended up paying double, for the supermarket shopping and for a nonexistent breakfast. A very bad experience with the bar and the waiter who served us the three days.

18/04/2025: We arrived at this bar, a terrible cold and empty diner, a very bad reception and owner with a good deal of rudeness towards customers. Experience not to be repeated. €2.20 cents per piece of inedible wood!

27/10/2025: My husband and I arrived at the pizzeria, and I ordered eight pizzas. The lady at the cashier was very friendly and kind, the pizza chefs were tidy and well-organized, and the place was clean and welcoming. I ordered several pizzas for dinner with friends. They were all loaded with toppings, very fresh and high-quality. The pizza dough was top-notch, with excellent leavening, and perfectly cooked. Really, nothing to say except compliments, the wait time was short! I made a great impression on my friends, and they were delighted with the pizzas, which no one else can make these days. I was satisfied too. Definitely my favorite pizzeria after trying dozens of pizzerias and all of them a failure! Trying is believing! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

What manners she received!! Watching people while they eat... this is very serious!!!

09/07/2025: I agree with the recent reviews: the place is nice, but there's practically nothing of what's written on the menu, at most (no joke) traditional teas for €4.50 each. I'm not saying much, but everyone in Catania has ginseng...for them it's non-existent even though it was on the menu for €2.....There was no iced tea, much less iced coffee, even though it was summer, there was no sweetener (how health-conscious they are!!! 🙏🏻......) Only vanilla pancakes, no croissants, tarts, or similar things that I've read in other reviews... Cover charge only €2...I'll never go again, I think...there's better.

28/06/2025: Intrigued by the presence of a section of vegetarian and vegan pizzas, I decided to try the section of this pizzeria on the occasion of the Thursday promotion in which the classic pizzas cost €5 and the special ones €7. Once they arrived I sadly noticed that these pizzas, the vegetarian and vegan ones, were not included in the promotion (because they do not fall into the "special" category, I deduce). But why categorize pizzas that, apart from the addition of vegetable cheeses (present only in some, or on request) are simple pizzas with vegetables? What is the difference between these and a green calzone (which is among the classics) and among the many others present on the menu in the classic and special sections? The "vegetarian" pizza itself is not part of this separate list, but it is among the classics (and is included in the promotion). It is clear that the "vegetarian/vegan" section was created for marketing reasons (and in fact, it worked: I placed the order first!) but that is precisely the problem. If you choose to promote yourself as a place that is attentive to the needs of those who follow a plant-based diet (with a page dedicated to the green proposal), excluding these pizzas from the weekly offers makes them "other", "different", and not an integral part of the menu. In this way, you penalize those who make a different ethical or dietary choice, and you betray the spirit of inclusiveness that a veg section should represent. My criticism is therefore not so much about the lack of transparency, as in fact if you refer to the mere title of the section it is right that vegetarian pizzas are not the object of the promotion, but the very choice behind this thing. A true veg-friendly menu should not be limited to a label, but should be fully integrated into the rest of the offer, promotions included, without therefore categorizing them separately as if they were "other". I repeat, the same pizzas could have easily been in the traditional sections of the menu (with possibly the surcharge for plant-based cheeses if requested). I write all this with regret, because the pizza was good, and I would have definitely ordered it again in the future, if I hadn't felt excluded instead of included. The goal of a veg-friendly menu should be to encourage the consumption of plant-based products even for those who are not vegetarian/vegan, but this is not the case and, in fact, in this way, it discourages it.

23/06/2025: I ordered two pizzas on justeat. One called for fried zucchini and instead it came with roasted zucchini. The other called for buffalo mozzarella and it came with a grainy cheese that didn't taste like buffalo. Last but not least, a hair stuck to the mozzarella. The only positive factor was the speed of delivery and the friendliness of the delivery boy.
