01/08/2025: Terrible experience. The tomato in the Margherita was poor. Making a good Margherita is the foundation. The only positive note was the waitress (not the owner), who was kind and cheerful. I'm sorry to have to leave this review, but it's unfair to offer this type of product considering the price paid.

04/04/2026: I went to this restaurant tonight with three other people, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing in several ways. When ordering, we were informed that we couldn't choose Venere rice, which we found limiting, especially since it was a Saturday night. We arrived at 9:30 PM and didn't receive our poke until 10:15 PM, so we had a rather long wait. One of the poke, ordered with a double protein option (which cost more), arrived with only one protein option: the shrimp tempura was missing. After pointing this out, the dish was taken back and returned with only one shrimp added, a decidedly insufficient amount considering the extra charge. Another poke, however, was completely missing the mango. As for the sushi box, a few pieces were brought to us after a further wait, and only then were we informed that the tuna wasn't available and they had to change the order. We also didn't like the sushi: it was too heavy, the rice was sticky, and the portions were unbalanced, with too much rice and too little seasoning. Overall, between the disorganization, long waits, and subpar quality, it was a negative experience. We won't be returning.

07/09/2025: It's a shame we only discovered it on the last day of our vacation: we had breakfast here with granita and brioche; the one with the "tuppo" was still warm and delicious. The granita was authentic Sicilian granita, tasty and dense. Kudos to the owners! If you're passing through Catania, I highly recommend it!

07/12/2025: We went there for breakfast and ordered Arancino and a Pizza-like-Slice made with Eggs and Eggplant. it was really great. The Arancino was one of the best I ate in Sicily. I really recommend it.

The food is delicious and high-quality, and the prices are still very affordable. The hot plates are generously sized and full of toppings. The staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

08/01/2026: Happy to have rediscovered this place! Mescan is a historic pub in Acireale. I spent many evenings there with friends as a teenager, but then it went into decline and I haven't had the chance to frequent it again. I was skeptical about returning, but I was surprised to find a place that has been reborn, even better than before! The place is still as amazing as it was then, but the food, beers, and overall quality have significantly improved. Their burgers are delicious, with homemade bread and quality ingredients. The service is friendly, helpful, and fast. To this day, it's one of the few pubs in the Catania area that can still call itself such. Prices are in line with the rest of the market, with the difference compared to other places that are adequate for the quality provided. Average cost €20 per person.

10/02/2026: I was served by Esmeralda, an extremely competent person who exudes a genuine enthusiasm for her work. From now on, I'll only go to Billy Tacos, also because, in addition to being incredibly kind, she also made me a super-stuffed quesadilla, something that's hard to find these days, given that everything is lacking in ingredients. Highly recommended!

Secondly, but absolutely essential and indispensable, is the quality of the products: from the ice cream to the well-stocked pastries. I have no shortage of pastry shops near my house, but I prefer to travel a few extra kilometers to shop here!

31/12/2025: I wanted to try this place with some colleagues, but I've never made such a bad choice. Rice with tasteless minestrone soup; I had to add salt because it was bland! The surprise was the price: 6 euros! For a first course like this, and even much better, I would have paid 4 euros. The alternative was penne with ragù, but what kind of ragù was it, with only pieces of meat in it? Sorry, this cuisine isn't for you. Never again, I definitely don't recommend it!
