02/11/2025: Everything was delicious! The restaurant is on a side street. It's an old and cozy place.

02/11/2025: We ate here in 2024, and at my daughter's express request we came to Mariano's for lunch again this year. This time we took a seat inside, not on the street, and were surprised to see how big the place was inside. Several small rooms with 4-5 tables, there must have been about 20-25 guests in total, including us. The waiters were busy, and we were lucky that the owner finally paid us. The grill platters didn't really win us over. The swordfish was better, in a patterned place, but the sardines were very dried out. The squid was also chewier than it should have been. We would rate the fish platter 3/5. In the meat mix, the lamb was also dry and chewy, and there was nothing that stood out in terms of taste. The pork was good and so was the sausage (we haven't eaten such sausages yet, but I liked it). We rated it 4/5, if we round the value up. My daughter said that the spaghetti was excellent, according to her expectations and memories, so 5/5. We all liked the caponata, although it was not the best recipe we ate on the island, so 4.5/5. I think it is overpriced, or more precisely, it is in line with the interior of the island, but 10-20% higher than the average price in Siracusa.

12/10/2025: Someone who tries to short change a 10euro note paid for a single item (arancina) 2euro purchase with a 2euro coin as change (a 6 euros "error"?? Really??) could only be viewed as a crook and deserves a 1 star irrespective of their food.

10/10/2025: Great food, the place is very busy, and the tables are shared. If you're looking for an experience, it's worth it.

21/09/2025: A great little snack bar with a super friendly saleswoman. We had arincini, and they were all excellent, especially the pistachio ones. It's a shame we're moving on tomorrow; I would have loved to try a pizza 😄

19/10/2025: I went for lunch for my mother's birthday and we chose the house menu. Everything was delicious and the fish was incredibly fresh. The staff was extremely kind and attentive to their needs. The location is simple and elegant, we'll definitely be back!

12/10/2025: Excellent seafood restaurant. On Friday evening, we celebrated an anniversary with all our relatives and found the service to be friendly, refined, clean, high-quality, and above all, attentive. Thanks to chef Mario and the very sweet Mrs. Lea.

08/09/2025: I discovered this hidden gem on my last day in Italy. The coffee and small pizzas were incredibly affordable and delicious, perfect for starting the day. The staff's smiles were as bright as the Sicilian morning sun.

30/09/2025: Aside from the truly delicious food (except for the Gari, if you hate ginger), I have to say I've never seen such confusion among the waiters when there are a lot of people in the room. When you arrive, you're greeted with kindness, but once you're seated... they probably need more staff.
