If you want Taranto family style meals, eating like an actual local this is the place. 15 dollars, no real limit on food but be respectful, great option for food. My recommendation is go as soon as they open, because the food is family style and it's first come first served. There is no menu. There is no actual sign that says this is La Piccola Locanda. There's a husband as a waiter and maybe a daughter of the woman at the counter. That's it, nothing else. Restaurant was PACKED on a Thursday at 130. We were lucky to get a table. Stuffed peppers were my absolute favorite, probably the tastest thing I've have had in the south so far. Really felt like I was in a family dining room. Vibe was just beyond casual. Come hungry, leave happy. Simple casual, great food at phenomenal price points.

The exterior of the restaurant is simple and uninspiring, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.

02/05/2026: Terrible experience!!! Booked at 9:10 PM from Taranto for 10:30 PM. Arrived at 10:00 PM. We waited with two children for a table, but when we got there, they decided to favor friends from the town who had just arrived, greeting each other in the kitchen. We waited for the right time, but we had to keep waiting for some really ridiculous kids to finish their food... I would have liked to say everything was good, but maybe others will.

16/05/2026: I've been going to Pizzeria la Livornese for 35 years now. For me, the pizza is unbeatable, especially the pan pizza, a spectacle; it's very rare to find it made this way in other pizzerias. The artisanal croquettes are also unsurpassed. Every time I go, it's always a pleasure to savor the aromas and flavors of a pizzeria with such a long tradition, yet constantly modernizing as a place. I miss, and I must say, that shelf with that beautiful sailing ship on display—it's nostalgic. If you go, the pan pizza is a must-try. Enjoy your meal 🥘🥘🍕🍕 The sailing ship is still there 😜😜😜
