02/04/2026: We went to this restaurant tonight with my parents and had a truly positive experience. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel immediately at ease. We ate very well: the ingredients are top-quality, and you can taste it in every dish. In particular, their caponata was amazing, truly exceptional and memorable! The prices are also absolutely in line with the quality offered, offering excellent value. It was a very pleasant evening, and I definitely recommend this place.
29/03/2026: We ended up here by chance on a Sunday afternoon. Good atmosphere. We had the set menu for the full Italian experience. We had a delicious meal. Definitely recommended.

05/04/2026: The "La Fattoria" restaurant is almost an institution in Taranto, on par with other famous and renowned establishments whose names I won't mention. But this time (I hadn't dined here in many years), the experience was rather negative. It's an old-fashioned restaurant, nothing changed from many years ago. A table for seven, Sunday lunch to celebrate an event. An endless wait. From 1:30 to 2:45 PM for the appetizers to be served. I must say, they were good quality. Three seafood courses and three meat courses. The fish cart was presented with an invitation to choose the finest cuts; we chose the lobster. The lobster paccheri (two dishes) arrived hard, not al dente, and salty (but that's a personal preference). The lobster, however, wasn't the one shown to us (I'm absolutely convinced, without a shadow of a doubt; it was frozen, had very little flavor, and was rubbery). The scialatielli with clams (2 dishes) were also very flavorless, and the clams weren't highlighted (lots of empty shells on the plate). The birthday boy's seafood risotto (I was extremely disappointed) never arrived (after numerous requests, each with the following responses: 1) it's cooking; 2) we're fixing it; 3) I'll let you know right away; 3) there's a problem, I can bring you something else). The guest at the table, now disappointed and angry, opted for a quick (so he said) plate of prawns (we were already choosing desserts). The last course was a simple pasta with tomato sauce for the boy who doesn't eat fish (I tried it and it was MasterChef-level, who was excluded from the selections). Obviously, we're not the type to argue. We knew many important and well-known customers from Taranto at the restaurant who aren't interested in acting. We expressed our disappointment, but despite the poor service, we paid a lot and without even a hint of a discount for the awful meal. Kudos to the pastry shop that supplies the desserts and to the Rosato Tramari winery, which always confirms the quality. I obviously won't be returning to this place, which unfortunately has no customer service whatsoever.

07/04/2026: Great place. A truly wonderful discovery. The portions were generous, especially the ingredients: scampi, shrimp, and fish (for the seafood dishes), and the meat was excellent, accompanied by the accompanying dishes. The wine recommendation was excellent: specifically, the Vermentino from the San Marzano winery, excellent. La Paranza di Sava is a true paradise for those with a sweet tooth for fresh seafood! The service was impeccable, yet courteous and cheerful, putting everyone at ease, and the staff were intelligent and brilliant; the atmosphere was welcoming, and the food never disappointing. On the extensive menu, the seafood paella is among the most popular; some of us had the seafood risotto, others the Quadratini stuffed with grouper. Everything was excellent, as were the delicious appetizers: a journey of flavors from marinated anchovies to crispy shrimp and stewed octopus. The staff, upon request, is available to recommend the best dish for individual tastes. La Paranza di Sava is a must-try for gourmets and lovers of fresh fish and Mediterranean cuisine, but the meat dishes are just as delicious. I highly recommend you don't miss the opportunity to try this restaurant! 😋 I'll definitely be back.

Fresh fish, carefully prepared and truly tasty dishes, showcasing every flavor to its fullest. The location is elegant yet welcoming, ideal for special occasions. The three owner brothers are a great added bonus: friendly, professional, and always attentive, they made us feel right at home. A place where quality and hospitality meet. Highly recommended!

06/04/2026: In the historic center of Martina Franca, Nausikaa is one of the many restaurants, trattorias, and roasteries. It's hard to go wrong in the Itria Valley, where the food and service is generally high, if you respect tradition. I tried two first courses, a second course, and an appetizer... the complimentary entree. I found the composition of the dishes spot-on, not overly elaborate, but not banal either. I found the service attentive, with a few flaws. The bill, unfortunately, is what you'd expect these days; if you look at the menu on the website, you can get an idea. For a lunch of around forty euros—not including wine—is easily affordable. Therefore: Service OK. Customer service was good, with entrees offered while you waited, with clear instructions on cooking times. The bill, in my opinion, is a little high, but you're definitely satisfied.

17/12/2025: Lunch here was a regular stop when we were in the area on weekdays (since on holidays you have to book well in advance). Unfortunately, yesterday it didn't go very well... (Did the chef change?) The appetizers were prepared who knows how long ago, even the seafood linguine was nothing like the ones we've had the other times, the grilled vegetables were burnt, the fish was the same story, only the calamari was okay, the shrimp contained sand, the swordfish (Oceanico) tasted old. The black truffle tasted only of ice. And a stomach ache... We were hungry and we gulped down the ceca, we were actually asked at the cashier how it had gone, but to avoid controversy, we paid and left because we didn't want to ruin our day. Obviously we won't be back again.
14/12/2025: The appetizers were okay, but the mussels...sorry, I know a lot about fish...and they were dirty, salty, inedible. The waiters were very unfriendly. The pasta with the lentils was okay, but very salty. In the end, the owner didn't charge for the mussels. But no thanks. There are much better places in Italy to eat fresh fish.

Ask the person serving you for advice; you can trust them! If you want to try typical and traditional seafood dishes from Taranto, this is the place you're looking for. No artificial flavors, no cream, no butter to cover, because all the ingredients are fresh and bought daily. My suggestion: try the risotto or the tubettini con le cozze. For those who love mussels, you must try the mussels from this city; they're famous all over the world for their distinctive flavor. Don't miss the antipasti—there are plenty. You can also trust the waiter, because, as I said, the food is always fresh. Book your table because the anti-COVID procedures are followed. For me, Trattoria Al Piccolo Porticciolo isn't just a trattoria: it's a must-visit every time I return to Taranto. It was when I lived in London, when I lived in northern Italy, and it still is today, now that I live in Lecce. It's one of those places where the sea is intertwined with family memories. But beyond the memories, there's substance: the quality of the fish. Today, I carefully browsed the menu and noticed an interesting detail: the first three pages of the dishes don't even have an asterisk indicating frozen products. In 2026, with the skyrocketing price of fresh fish, that's a detail that speaks volumes. The linguine with clams, the marinara risotto, and our pride and joy, the rice, potatoes, and mussels, are authentic dishes: respected ingredients and expert craftsmanship in the kitchen. The service is friendly and cheerful, even during the busiest hours. And speaking of the dining room: it's almost always full here. In the restaurant world, it's often the simplest and most honest indicator when it comes to value for money. Fresh fish, expert cooking, and a tradition that continues to do its job well, without the need for special effects. To me, Trattoria Al Piccolo Porticciolo is more than just a trattoria. It's a place I return to every time I come back to Taranto—whether I was living in London, Northern Italy, or now in Lecce. A place where the sea meets family memories. Beyond nostalgia, there is substance: the quality of the fish. Today I carefully looked through the menu and noticed an interesting detail: in the first three pages of dishes, there isn't a single asterisk indicating frozen products. In 2026, when the price of fresh fish has skyrocketed, that detail says a lot. The linguine with clams, the seafood risotto, and our local pride, Riso, patate e cozze, are exactly what they should be: honest dishes built with excellent ingredients and experienced hands.
