Retrogusto lives up to the highest standards of Italian charme and hospitality.
A tucked away corner popping up unexpectedly from the cobblestone streets connecting important sites of Brindisi's old town (you just can't miss the nearby archeological museum Francesco Ribezzo, outstanding yet virtually unkown), this place will surprise you with its quaint atmosphere, welcoming vibe and courteous professionalism.
The staff is very kind, competent and warm, making you feel at home all along, while preparing the top cocktails in the process!

One of those aperitifs you don't expect and that makes you want to come back right away. A rich and meticulously prepared platter: flavorful tacos, truly amazing salmon and cream crostini, crispy fries, and many fried delicacies to try.
Everything is prepared with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Generous portions, balanced flavors, and a pub atmosphere perfect for an evening with friends.
Fast service and very friendly staff. An aperitif that almost becomes dinner! Congratulations, highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

11/06/2026: Pizza Express. Family-run restaurant/pizzeria. Piero, his mom, and dad made us feel at home and enjoyed the typical flavors of Puglia, both gluten-free and gluten-free! We discovered this place at the end of our vacation and are sad we couldn't try their other specialties. We'll definitely be back.
The family of little CHRI, who has celiac disease.

13/05/2026: We chose this wonderful place for my son's first communion. It was a 100% perfect choice. It's a beautiful place, very intimate and private. The food was excellent, the appetizers perfect with flavors from the days when my grandmother used to cook for us on Sundays. The pizza was excellent, with its dough truly perfect for the palate. I would also like to highlight the kindness and refinement of the owners, who were truly cheerful. After every course I came to ask how it was going. They are truly exceptional people. I can't wait to go back.

18/11/2025: Given the excellent reviews, we decided to dine at the grill. The meat counter isn't visible, unlike most grill restaurants in Puglia, so we had to order blind. I don't think the meat they serve is even close to that of the excellent grill restaurants in the Itria Valley. We definitely won't be returning; I absolutely can't recommend it!
02/11/2025: Brought there by two local friends, we were able to see that they truly loved us. A very quaint yet welcoming place, the staff were extremely kind and approachable, the owner always present and ready to satisfy every customer's need, and the food was top-notch, prepared according to ancient local culinary traditions. We were absolutely satisfied in every way, and we hope to return soon.

The owner is the brother of the same family (friendly, welcoming), the hostess is an excellent "mother in the kitchen," and her daughter is extremely helpful and kind.
A family-friendly and peaceful atmosphere!
I hope I can always find a seat when I need it.

11/02/2026: I had stayed in Ceglie for three nights, and I tried some trop 5 restaurants based on Tripadvisor for the first two days, they were all nice. I came to this restaurant by chance on my third night, but after trying the food, I regretted that I hadn’t discovered it earlier. It is the best of my 3 days journey in this area. The menu is very interesting. There are something you don’t normally find elsewhere, such as donkey stew. The assorted starters are amazing, very general portion and 90% are freshly cooked. The arancini is the best I have ever had, outside is crispy, inside is very light. I am not a big arancini fan, but the one I has here is fantastic.
