Mo è Osteria In Altamura

During a family trip to Altamura, we had lunch at this restaurant. Reservations are handled by phone and WhatsApp, despite some communication difficulties regarding opening hours. The restaurant is located in the heart of Altamura's historic center, on a beautifully decorated street. The atmosphere is typically Apulian, very rustic and traditional. The cuisine offers local specialties, but we found it unfair not to mention during the reservation that there is no à la carte menu on Sundays. We actually ordered dishes verbally, especially without knowing the prices. In any case, we found everything very good and fresh. The first course was really good, as was the meat, cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and quick. Despite having plenty of seating, the location felt cramped, and conversation was difficult. We can't comment on the bill, as we weren't able to consult the menu, and it was offered to us. It's definitely a good option in Altamura, but there's plenty of room for improvement. It's essential to disclose prices, even for set menus.

A place that serves delicious, aesthetically pleasing regional cuisine. Definitely worth a visit.

This Osteria was recommended to me, and they were right. The place is clean and well-kept, the food is freshly prepared and homemade, and the staff is attentive to every guest's needs. Everything is delicious. Anyone coming to Altamura must try this Osteria. I think it's worth it. I recommend it to everyone.

The place is very welcoming, and the food is excellent. The only downside was the large-screen TV, which was on, but they kindly turned it down to the minimum at our request. They wouldn't turn it off, and much to my disappointment, I spent most of my birthday lunch watching war images on the news. I could have done without it. If they take away my TV, I'll be back.

We called 20 minutes before arriving to see if there was room... and we were right, because it was packed and we risked having to leave. For two, we ordered a cheese appetizer, a first course, a second course, and crudités. Drinks were limited to water. The bill was €50, including complimentary amaro. Worth noting: the donkey meat cooked in a rizzola. Spectacular, it melted in your mouth, absolutely worth trying. The place is well-maintained and the restrooms are clean. Attentive service (I asked them to turn down the volume and do something about the overly loud heating... and they did it right away). If you're visiting Altamura, it's definitely worth a try (nearby, you'll also find the Pasticceria delle Monache, which serves excellent Sospiri).

A welcoming and charming place. Traditional cuisine with a high and low selection of ingredients and no standout features. Our meal wasn't bad, but nothing memorable. Recommended for tourists who might be better able to appreciate local specialties.
