We had lunch at this excellent restaurant, the food was delicious, and the staff was young, helpful, and very kind.
They gave us dessert to take home since we didn't eat it...

After nine years, I returned to the Antica Osteria Pein Assutt. The atmosphere had completely changed, starting with the completely renovated restaurant. The menu had also been completely revamped, while maintaining the same quality of the dishes over the years, always with a fresh twist.

Sensational! A top-notch culinary experience with dishes for all tastes, prepared primarily with regional ingredients from the Altamura area. For appetizers, we chose cardoons and cardoon mushrooms, as well as homemade tagliolini with chickpeas. Two hearty yet delicate entrees. A tip for those who enjoy large meals: come hungry! For the main course and side dish, we opted for cardoon mushrooms with fava bean purée and a hint of spices, paired with Cutturidd sheep's cheese, enriched with wild boar ham. Finally, the assorted desserts are a must-try—not to be confused with the name! Homemade and a harmonious delight for the palate.
In light of all this, Osteria Pein Assutt has made great strides in terms of food quality, location, and, above all, virtually nonexistent wait times, all while maintaining impeccable and attentive service. We ate at this restaurant a few days ago. My friends and I, even though there were 11 of us, had no problem getting a seat, as the staff was very helpful. I ordered a veal rib, which was truly exceptional, and bruschetta for an appetizer. The quality of the ingredients was truly excellent, and the bruschetta was fabulous with Altamura bread.
