Great place to eat like at home, welcoming place and honest prices

Five stars are few to describe this truly exceptional family-run restaurant, the food is uniquely good, one of the owners, who is also the restaurant manager, is very nice without his stopping for a joke at the tables compromising the service which is very fast and precise. Despite being a family restaurant, the decor is modern and minimalist. The place is very clean (including the bathroom). An honorable mention must be made for the home-made Padre Peppe served at the table in watering cans. If you want to have a taste of Murgia cuisine, hospitality and warmth, this place must be on your road map.

Nice place, kind service and true and authentic home cooking, with abundant dishes like in a tavern. I definitely recommend not taking just one first course, but trying the various tastings, at least 3-4 different ones. I keep dreaming about pumpkin lasagna, authentic goodness. The starters were also excellent, many at km 0 and the second course, which we were lucky enough to find, the famous sheep alla rzzaul, was excellent. Meat cooked in an incredible way that blends with the vegetables and makes everything unforgettable. The final desserts were also excellent and in the end the bill was really honest. I recommend this fantastic tavern to everyone, congratulations to the owners

Genuine flavors and a family atmosphere for a relaxing evening

A place to eat typical Altamura cuisine with an excellent quality-price ratio. Very kind and friendly service. Maybe it will be a little cramped but this is certainly an indication of how much the place is appreciated.

In pieno centro ad Altamura, locale accogliente e ben arredato, personale attento e molto gentile . antipasto con diversi salumi e formaggi tutti buoni con un carpaccio super ! Primi della tradizione fra i quali una pasta fresca con cicerchie eccellente! Bravi consigliatissimo Ps prezzi contenuti

Da parecchio tempo i nostri splendidi amici Nino e Mariangela avevano a me e Margaret suggerito con tanta passione e gustosa insistenza di andare a mangiare all'antica osteria "Pein Assut" di Altamura.Ebbene il giorno di S.Lucia questo desiderio è stato realizzato pienamente. Arrivati verso le 14.00 il simpatico dinamico e cortese titolare Tommaso ci ha riferito di aspettare perchè il locale letteralmente pullulava di persone ,insomma era super affollato e dovevamo attendere che un tavolo per 4 doveva liberarsi...dopo più di mezz'ora ecco finalmente ci sediamo e veniamo accolti calorosamente e con il sorriso da Antonio ed Antonella . Intanto il locale ben arredato con insegne, manifesti di film di Totò, atmosfera familiare che conciliava molto lo stare bene e il colloquiare anche di argomenti appassionanti ci ha ben predisposto a godere del cibo che avremmo gustato.Cominciamo con la portata di 7 succulenti antipasti, poi dei primi piatti strepitosi con cicerchie e capunto alla boscaiola.Mentre mangiavamo con gioia e gradevole scambio di storie del nostro passato quando più di 40 anni fa ci siamo conosciuti , arriva il secondo di brasciole, di coniglio da leccarsi i "baffi". Poi ancora insalata, patate fritte, tirami , alla fine la geniale maniera di farci bere con geniale recipiente ed "innafiare" nei bicchieri il celebre Padre Beppe...Insomma la gentilezza ,la simpatia di chi ci ha servito come Antonio ed Antonella ci ha proprio fatto bene ed agevolato la nostra permanenza mentre mangiavamo. Il rapporto tra qualità e quantità del cibo che rispettava pienamente la buona tradizione della cucina pugliese e il prezzo che abbiamo pagato è stato più che soddisfacente . Da ritornare sicuramente !! Abbiamo coronato questa giornata con una splendida passeggiata nell'incantevole centro storico di Altamura visitando forni antichi e gnostri.
