31/10/2025: For me it has always been a legend, the ice cream is excellent I would say... today I was with a friend and we had an aperitif 🤦 to say the least squalid, frozen and peeled panzerotti (as a restaurateur I would never have put it) invisible piece of old and rubbery focaccia, half a roll, piece of hard rustico and I won't describe the other pieces, all reheated in the microwave.

31/10/2025: A cozy cafe with a sea view. Delicious coffee! Pleasant staff. A selection of pastries and snacks.

22/10/2025: Great food, amazing wine choice, friendly staff, and the gorgeous mini beach just next to it was the icing on the cake .. gracie!

The portions were adequate and satisfying, but the quality of the food wasn't entirely convincing: some flavors could have been better crafted and enhanced (score: 3/5). The atmosphere has a rather dark feel, which risks making the place less welcoming than it could be. On the other hand, the service was positive: the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive to customers (score: 4/5). Overall, this is a place with good potential, which could offer a much more enjoyable experience with small improvements to the cuisine and a few ambiance details.

13/07/2025: Fantastic! We dined outdoors, and for the first time in Altamura, I was able to enjoy everything I ordered without being disturbed by secondhand smoke of any kind, as they've created a non-smoking area outside as well. A great sign of civility from the manager, given that you can't rely on the common sense of those smoking at tables to disturb those eating, even if children are present. We hope many more will follow their example. Well done, well done, well done!

04/10/2025: A must-visit. You might not expect anything special from a "mini market," but that's completely wrong here. The market is part of a cheese factory; you can get the freshest mozzarella, burrata, ricotta, smoked cheese, etc., as well as some air-dried hams and salamis by the gram from the counter, as well as a few loaves of bread. You can also get delicious paninis made with fresh produce at fair prices. They also offer a few simple hot dishes and focaccia. In the mini market, you can find almost everything you could possibly need. Our vacation apartment was right near the store, so we picked up fresh mozzarella, etc., almost every day. We were served by a friendly, English-speaking young man.

The counter is truly stunning, brimming with the freshest produce: dairy products prepared daily, quality cured meats, fresh vegetables, and ready-made meals perfect for a lunch to take to the beach. The staff is incredibly kind, efficient, and fast, even during peak hours. Fair prices and excellent quality. Highly recommended!

13/09/2025: Una delle pizzerie più buone di Vico. In tanti anni che la frequenti mai una delusione, anzi, si supera volta per volta. La mia pizza preferita è tonno e cipolla, aggiungendo capperi e acciughe. Talmente buona che lascio sempre il piatto pulito. Poi c'è da dire che l'impasto non gonfia, e si può dormire tranquillamente la notte.

18/08/2025: We had a piadina with cooked ham and a small loaf of bread, they were delicious and very filling, I highly recommend trying it if you are staying there.

14/10/2025: Cake picked up this evening after waiting about an hour... on top of that, which is understandable, the printing on the wafer was completely covered in vertical lines, and despite this obvious error, they wouldn't have even told me if I hadn't asked to take a look before the cake was wrapped. Their excuse? "The printer isn't working properly, what can we do?" P.S.: I still paid full price for the cake ✌️

18/10/2025: Open for dinner everyday except on on Monday, La Svolta is, to me (and I am Italian) pretty much what makes eating in Italy great! The owner is very friendly, the food is amazing (I strongly suggest you try the Bari specialties like orecchiette alle cime di rapa and riso, patate e cozze) and the prices are right. This is what Italian food is all about - forget fancy restaurants, here is where it's at!
