13/04/2026: (This is the review I left a year ago) Excellent pizza. I recommend ordering the giant one since it's so good. Recommended. Unfortunately, I have to change my mind. I never write negative reviews about mistakes, because we all make mistakes. But this time, there wasn't a mistake. The last two times I've been there (in fact, the first time, I blamed it on a mistake, but the two times, it's just habit), the owners' courtesy has been lacking. Orders were taken "by heart," with a succession of errors in the dishes, without being corrected. And, even more painfully, the bill was steep, far different from what it actually was (listed in the price list, including cover charge). Even when I pointed it out, the owners didn't have the good sense to explain why. From a reference point, it will unfortunately become a place to forget. It's a shame, because the quality of the dishes remains consistently good.

12/06/2026: Hands down, the best place to eat in Castellina Scalo, also because it's the only one. The pizza is truly delicious, and the prices are very fair, if not low, and the staff is almost as delightful as the pizza. Takeout is also available, but it's worth eating in at the restaurant, which is well-maintained.

14/05/2026: We ate here and had a great time! The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is truly welcoming.

25/06/2026: Old-fashioned cuisine: delicious and authentic. I often eat at La Siesta, and every time I try a different dish: everything is delicious. The waitresses are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The owner? A real asset!!!

21/04/2026: I hope they go out of business tomorrow, especially considering how they treat their customers. We stopped by for lunch, lots of empty tables, but they wouldn't seat us. When we asked for an explanation, the waiter didn't even stop, he didn't even consider us. Rude! Should we give them a course in respect and hospitality? And if you have to give me the usual answer about you being full (which isn't true), that you were fully booked, or that you were too busy, I reiterate that people are never treated like that. Especially since we were extremely kind.

22/06/2026: We arrived and they had just opened. They immediately went out of their way to welcome us. The food was delicious, with authentic flavors. Everything was excellent. The staff was very kind and attentive to our needs.

24/05/2026: I went last night for the first time in 12 years... we ate the pizza that was recommended to us: the dough was excellent, but there was too much mozzarella, which was rubbery and made the pizza heavy. It remained compact. Prices were average. This isn't a harsh criticism, but rather a recommendation if interpreted correctly. The waiter, although very kind (poor, that is), seemed a bit too much for the number of people there. I did, however, see impressive platters with very fresh cured meats and delicious pecorino cheeses; who knows, maybe we'll go back.

11/07/2026: Cozy place in the historic center, good pizza

05/07/2026: Very crowded, especially on Saturday evenings. Reservations are recommended given the crowds. We were lucky: we had a table outside on the covered terrace. It's a shame that, since dinner started at 9:00 PM, there was little light at the tables, so we ate with our phone flashlight on to see what was on our plates... Good food and generous portions. We had seafood appetizers and fish-based first courses, all well-cooked and tasty. Service was a bit slow, perhaps because it was a busy weekend. The waiters were all very young and still haven't gotten into the swing of things. One very positive note: They allow dogs in the restaurant. For parking, you'll have to look around the streets near the Misericordia or in the higher parking lot. The restaurant terrace has a stunning view of the Gulf of Piombino and Elba in front. A positive experience, worth repeating.
