13/05/2026: Tonight we went out for dinner at Osteria del Castagno because we were staying at an agriturismo nearby. Upon arrival, they were unaware that we had made a reservation. The waiter who arrived later served us well; the starter was good, but my main course was raw and cold. I had ordered a tournedos with rosemary and oil; it was really cold and raw. The waiter took it back but returned it raw—warm, though it had been reheated in the microwave. I know very well how a tournedos is prepared. The waiter wanted to take it back to the kitchen again, but I didn't want that anymore... I had asked for it more well-done. The waiter didn't speak English, so a lady came over who spoke directly to my husband in a downright rude manner. I tried to intervene, but she really just attacked my husband. We weren't being rude, but we felt the meat wasn't cooked properly. She said that it is normal in Italy for meat to be eaten raw and cold, which we didn't believe, so she walked away incredibly angry and left us sitting there. We went to the cashier to pay, where she stood and immediately started insulting us again, saying that we didn't had been treated well and were rude and walked away, the waiter who was friendly helped us further, I didn't want to pay for the meat, he handled this properly, the young lady even said the f word to my husband as we walked out the door, sorry, that is not how you treat your guests, and not my husband either... not even if you are probably the owner, we are tourists and have a lot of respect for the surroundings and the country of Italy and their customs but did not expect that if the food is not good we are not allowed to mention it and are dismissed as tourists... thank you Deborah or Camilla, whoever you are, for treating your guests like that... it is your income and your future... we therefore hope that you are doing well, we wish you all the best... 16/05/2026: On their website, there's a drinks menu that specifies draft beer... we arrive at the pizzeria, they didn't have draft beer because they only sold bottles (obviously at double the price). Instead of a pizza, they serve crechers with tomato sauce. I've never seen a worse pizza. The tables are almost crowded with other people, and to top it off, it took a good hour from ordering the pizzas to getting them to the table. Definitely avoid them.

12/04/2026: Delicious pizzas, a super-stocked counter with options for all tastes, from the most classic to the most unusual. The owners are fantastic: friendly, courteous, and professional. Highly recommended!

28/04/2026: Very good pizza, lots of options, and lactose-free and gluten-free pizzas available upon request. The service is decent, though sometimes the wait is quite long. The place is cute, but too small for the number of tables. They're so close together that it feels like everyone is at the same table! The pizza is good, though.

07/04/2026: I've been getting takeout pizza here for two years because I really like it and it's easy to digest. The only flaw: when I get home, the pizzas often have the wrong ingredients or are missing. Otherwise, everything's perfect!

24/05/2026: You cannot have a coffee at 11h in the morning, they send dozen of people back saying terrace is for lunch. Worst experience in Florence of the whole week. Never had such bad service.

23/05/2026: Delicious lamb ragu pasta looking out over the square with a glass of Chianti. The atmosphere was calm and classy but the prices are reasonable. My waiter was very nice and polite.

07/06/2026: Beautiful Cacio e Pepe and boar with polenta. Great service and the waiter even kept by a gift that we had accidentally left behind and later returned to collect!

06/06/2026: The seafood spaghetti was perfect! Super tender octopus. The staff was very kind and professional, and the location was relaxing, especially the outdoor area facing the pond full of water lilies.

08/05/2026: Great Pizza, lovely people, excellent service, fair prices! Just superb!! I'd say it mainly is takeaway or ordered pizza but they do have a few tables (just don't expect a violinist at your table!). We (family of 5) ate there, even had our (small) dog with us: 5 very tasty pizzas, 1 big bottle of coke => 37 Euros and lovely, helpful staff. What more can you ask for.

27/04/2026: Delicious, a real traditional place, locals selection, greatly recommended, all the food was great, they have wine and beer, fair prices, not like in others. Fast service and prepared from the scratch. Friendly people that comunicate in English and Spanish.

18/04/2026: We stumbled across this little local place when we stayed at a hotel near by. Pizzas was so good we came back to eat again the next evening. Good value for money, sweet staff and delicious pizzas.

03/06/2026: What can you say? They're amazing, there's a bit of a wait even if you order takeout for a certain time. They don't do home delivery, but it's really good and the prices are super fair. 5&5 fabulous, but so are the pizzas.

27/05/2026: The pizza is excellent and priced very reasonably. However, it can get quite busy, so be prepared for a wait. The ordering system is a bit confusing, especially for a first-timer, as there are two queues: one for counter service and another for pizza and paying.
