02/11/2025: A superb culinary experience, especially recommended for rice lovers. The venue is the former restaurant of the Hotel Cinzia in Vercelli. The location is rather unassuming, with a dining room that isn't particularly modern, but the atmosphere is decidedly relaxed and ideal for a lunch or dinner for two or with a few friends. The menu is varied and interesting, but needless to say, the specialty here is risotto in all its variations, crafted and cooked with extreme skill and respect for the ingredients. The menu is truly extensive and interesting. We opted for the three-course tasting menu, which fully satisfied our appetite, but for those with a sweet tooth, there's also the seven-course menu or the option of à la carte. I recommend trying at least one of the four canned risottos, each more exquisite than the last, with a special mention for the tailored coffee and parmesan cream risotto. The service is very attentive, although not particularly fast due to the lengthy preparation times (not suitable for those in a hurry). The bill is absolutely fair and in line with the quality of the dishes offered. The small pastries served with coffee are also highly appreciated. In short, the Costardi brothers confirm their position as masters of rice, in an area where excellence is the rule.

24/11/2025: Discovered by chance for a business lunch, it feels like stepping back in time, a place where you eat excellently and spend a fair amount, where they focus on substance rather than form. A special mention for the tongue with green sauce!!! Highly recommended!!

24/01/2026: Passing through for a business lunch, I decided to return the next day. The restaurant, though very popular, still offers plenty of space for a comfortable meal. A wide variety of dishes, cooked to perfection! The staff were very friendly and quick, and the prices were competitive. Thank you!

27/12/2025: After a long journey and a long walk, we were left outside the restaurant with a small child in a bad way, without having the possibility of having something at least for her, even just take-away, rude and not at all polite.

15/09/2025: Nice hut on great location. We just had lunch here, but it was great. Good soup and a very nice cheese/meat platter.

13/09/2025: The Barba Ferrero Refuge was a pleasant surprise, especially from its manager. A helpfulness and kindness I've never encountered in the many refuges I've visited. We only stopped for lunch, but next time we'll try to stay a night. Highly recommended.

03/01/2026: A very large and spacious restaurant, simple and welcoming. When you arrive, someone immediately greets you with a smile. The staff is attentive, fast, and very friendly. It's a family-friendly atmosphere. We've had lunch there several times. The selection is varied and the dishes are simple but very good. The prices are competitive, which is always a plus for a family of four. This will definitely be our regular stop when we travel to Valsesia. Kudos to all the staff.

04/01/2026: Tried on 03/01/2026. Beautiful location 4 km from Vercelli. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Delicious salami in fat as an entree. Excellent pumpkin flan with a light Taleggio fondue and delicious Martini di Boves raw meat with black truffle sauce and chickpea pâté. Incredible veal stew cooked slowly in Barolo and spices with creamed potatoes and a fantastic guinea fowl breast roll with juniper berry sauce. Fantastic almond, hazelnut, and pistachio semifreddo, salted and crunchy with caramel, and a wonderful millefeuille with Marsala zabaglione foam. Excellent wine list. Reasonably priced (desserts are expensive). Highly recommended.

19/01/2026: I went for dinner. I didn't have pizza, but everything was good. The strudel could probably be improved, but then again, it's not a pastry shop. The service was quick and courteous. The place was set with real tablecloths, which are a rarity these days. Overall, 5 stars.

16/01/2026: I booked a table a few days ago for 8:30 PM, and they called us around 8:15 PM to say they'd give our table away if we didn't show up. But I'm booking for a certain time because I have to arrive 15 minutes early. I think the receptionist who called was rude. I'd also add that the panna cotta should be thrown away; they might not serve it at the tables.
