24/09/2025: What a lovely experience. By far our best meal of our holiday to date. Service was exceptional and prompt, even with the restaurant full of other diners. When we arrived before the kitchen was prepared, we were offered a drink and plate of chips and peanuts...we could have eaten theses all night! I had the Battuta Al Coltello which is a local spin on a tartare - absolutely delicious. The only problem was we didn't have room for dessert! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Santhia.

31/08/2025: Great size of the restaurant very well decided in sections with the covered terrace outside. Great service. Good price. A huge selection of deserts. It’s better to book in advance. But if you are two people normally it should work out without booking.

14/09/2025: We were guests for a week, and everything was excellent. Friendly and efficient staff, extensive menu. The portions were more than excellent and generous. The peaceful location surrounded by nature adds to the rest. We'll definitely be back.

21/09/2025: We went to this place last night for hot pot. The very kind owner explained that, until two months ago, it was a sushi place, but they've decided to transform it with this new offering in Vercelli. We really enjoyed it. The broth selection is varied, as are the toppings. There are plenty of options, including vegan and vegetarian options. The owner is always ready to explain and help you choose; the staff is always kind and polite. We'll be back soon.

14/09/2025: The overall impression was very positive, more like a restaurant than a refuge. The appetizers were very good, and we ordered two main courses... it's a shame only one arrived because the other was forgotten and they didn't notice because they no longer cared about us! It's true that it was crowded, but if you want to be a restaurant, including restaurant prices, you have to organize yourself like a restaurant.

12/09/2025: Excellent cuisine, always kind and helpful staff, fair prices, generous portions all in a warm and comfortable environment. Since we discovered this refuge we have been there several times this summer and will definitely continue to return.

11/10/2025: The rooms are furnished with a balance of modernity and tradition: spacious, comfortable, quiet, with large bathrooms. The service is highly competent and courteous from all the staff. The location, a former convent surrounded by a garden, in a secluded town, is extremely peaceful.

Tutto perfetto ..cibo ottimo personale cordiale e professionale in primis la Signora Responsabile molto gentile: organizzazione perfetta nonostante l'elevato numero di persone presenti. 17/09/2025: We had lunch at this refuge, reached after a lovely hike through the woods of the Val d'Otro. The dishes are simple but well-prepared; we had the house antipasto, which was excellent. The mountain cheeses were spectacular, including the venison mocetta and lonzino, as were the ricotta and goat cheese. The polenta concia was perfectly made. Definitely worth a visit.

12/10/2025: I discovered Trattoria Cuore d’Oro almost by chance, but it quickly became a truly memorable experience. Located in the hamlet of San Damiano in Carisio (VC), this rustic establishment maintains an authentic charm, just like the trattorias of yesteryear. As soon as you enter, you feel the warmth: simple furnishings, a few brick walls, cozy lighting, and a fireplace—everything contributes to a feel-good atmosphere. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always eager to make your day enjoyable. There's no pretense of elegance, but the care is there and it shows. What you eat here is local, traditional, flavorful, and TYPICAL: The panissa, with rice, beans, and sausage, is a heart-warming dish, hearty and flavorful. The pappardelle, which I didn't order this time, but I did try a little from Nunzia's plate. It was delicious. The fried frogs: a delicacy! Crispy, flavorful, just the right amount of rusticity, well-executed. I'd never tried them!!! The entire meal focuses on real ingredients, homemade dishes, and generous portions—a welcome bonus. The flavors are traditional Piedmontese, unfussy but full of character. The price is more than fair for what you get: quantity, deliciousness, and atmosphere. It's not "gourmet," but it doesn't pretend to be, and that's precisely what makes it special. The only small point: the menu is often "spoken out loud." I asked the lady for the menu, but she didn't bring it. It's not a serious problem, but it's something worth mentioning. If you're looking for a place to enjoy authentic Piedmontese cuisine, with dishes like panissa, frogs, and local first and second courses, in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, Cuore d'Oro is definitely worth marking in your diary. Five well-deserved stars: a pleasure for the palate and the soul.
