Very good traditional dishes, excellent service. Generous portions. The atmosphere is a bit noisy, with beautiful vaulted ceilings, but the sound is reverberating. Sound-absorbing panels would be appreciated. Otherwise, really good!

Visited Vercelli to buy some rice and had lunch with friends at the Vecchia Brenta restaurant. Everything was excellent, made with fresh ingredients. The panissa was delicious, we had seconds.

I had the opportunity to try Vecchia Brenta, a traditional restaurant in the center of Vercelli, just steps from Piazza Cavour. The menu offers several traditional Vercelli dishes: among those I tried, I recommend the panissa, veal with tuna sauce, and mixed fried food, all well-executed. The fried food in particular was well-executed and not greasy…which isn't always a given. For dessert, the tartufatina was a perfect choice. The portions are quite generous, so you'll definitely leave satisfied. The ingredients seem good quality, and overall the dishes are well-prepared without being overbearing. The service was friendly and efficient, without any particularly long waits. The quality-price ratio was also good. Takeout is also available. On busy days, especially weekends, it may be helpful to make a reservation. Overall, a solid choice for those who want to try traditional local cuisine in the city center.
