It's unprofessional. How much did the fish I ordered weigh? How much did some of the dishes we ordered that weren't on the menu cost? We'll never know.

25/05/2026: Leaving a restaurant with a satisfied smile is quite rare these days. I hadn't been back to "Da Amedeo" in a while. A quick but substantial lunch, the appetizer of eggplant rolls with cod was excellent, but chef Andrea surprised me with this excellent dish, made with few ingredients but wonderfully prepared: spaghetti with mussels, yellow cherry tomatoes, and zucchini flowers, a hint of lime for a touch of class. The icing on the cake was the mopping up of the bread with his own bread. Top 👏👏👏

05/07/2026: Disappointing experience. I ordered seafood pasta, which arrived cold and with the pasta still raw. When the staff asked if everything was okay, we politely addressed the issue without creating any controversy. Instead of receiving a simple apology, what I believe to be the owner arrived, asserting in a rather intimidating manner that it was impossible for the dish to have been served in that condition. We calmly reiterated what had happened, but the way the situation was handled left us more disappointed than the dish itself. At the end of the meal, we were told that they would offer us amaro (bitter liquor) for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, looking at the other tables, we saw that amaro was offered to all customers, so it wasn't a gesture of consideration for the inconvenience. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What really makes the difference is how they are handled. In this case, the ability to listen to the customer and recognize a mistake was lacking.

02/07/2026: We discovered this restaurant while we were at the beach, unfortunately (you'll understand why) on our last day in Otranto. It was the best meal we've had since we've been in Puglia (for 8 days), so since we discovered the restaurant for lunch, we've eaten there once more in the evening. First of all, I want to give all the credit and congratulations to the dark-haired, bearded waiter, from July 2, 2026, who served us at both meals, and was very professional, attentive to details and on top of his job. He made us feel very good and certainly deserves all the praise and a raise 😁. The location is right on the beach and offers a wonderful view. The interior looks luxurious, clean and well-kept. The food is very good. For lunch I tried entrecotes with truffle mayonnaise, which were brilliant and made me regret that I don't have at least one more day to eat again. I chose the beef cooked medium well on the waiter's recommendation, so it was perfect. Also, on the waiter's recommendation, I chose a local rose wine, very aromatic and tasty. My partner had gnocchi with pistachios, shrimp and clams, which were also very tasty and a large portion. In the evening we chose to eat sushi, and shrimp tempura. The soy sauce was very good, and the sushi rolls were tasty and aromatic. This time I chose a very good local white wine. Also, the dessert was very good, I had panna cotta and my partner had tiramisu, both very tasty, but here I want to note again the waiter who was very attentive to details and gave us a pleasant surprise. Although the prices were a little higher than in other restaurants (~75€ per meal, with main course + wine + dessert) it was the best restaurant I ate at in all of Puglia.

09/06/2026: Welcoming atmosphere both inside and out, competent and helpful staff. Excellent food made with quality ingredients. The raw fish dishes are top-notch, including the fried fish and roasted snapper, a nice interlude with raw vegetables. The wine list is well-stocked. On the Via Francigena yesterday for the second time.

09/06/2026: By far the most popular of the many restaurants in the village, but not one I'd return to. The food was good but the ambience was very poor.

07/06/2026: We visited this wonderful restaurant in the hilly area of ​​Monopoli for Mother's Day and returned for a family Sunday. What can I say? Both times, the lunch was sublime: exceptional raw seafood, sublime fish, and the staff was professional, competent, and above all attentive. A special mention goes to Mr. Bartolomeo, the owner, a wonderful person, disarmingly kind. I absolutely highly recommend this corner of paradise. Chimenti Family

15/05/2026: For starters, we had raw seafood, very fresh, a delight: langoustines, shrimp, mussels, and cockles. The seafood risotto had firm yet creamy rice, but we didn't really see any seafood in it—something to keep in mind in the kitchen 😉. We had a tasting of syrups/alcohol, which was interesting. Panna cotta with homemade syrup. And a very good wine recommended by the waiter.

16/07/2026: Both the food and the service were excellent! If you want good, quality food at a fair price, this is the place for you. For the same price, many other places in the area offer significantly lower quality... all you'll get is a photo to Instagram with the sea in the background! The choice is yours!

23/06/2026: The service was great. The food was exceptional. The wine list was the best I have seen in Puglia and Sicily. The door is permanently locked so you have to ring the door bell to get into the restaurant which makes the place fairly exclusive despite being in the midst of a very busy area. Loved the experience.

04/06/2026: It was closed, but the sign said it was for sale. We called several times to make a reservation. Finally, we went there, and it was closed with a "For Sale" sign.

13/07/2026: Unbelievable rudeness and zero attention to families. I absolutely do not recommend this place. We were choosing dinner for ourselves and our children. Since the little ones never finish everything, I wanted to share a dish with my son. The lady approached us in an intrusive and rude manner, forbidding us from sharing because "otherwise she wouldn't earn any money." There was no specific prohibition on the menu; it was a rule made up on the spot out of greed. Mistreatment of a family with small children for fear of earning a dish less is shameful. Apulian hospitality is something else entirely.
