28/10/2025: Our first evening on the Amalfi Coast, I wanted to make a lasting first impression - Le Arcate did not disappoint! Could not have been better 1) seaside terrace seating, overlooking Amalfi beach and view up to Amalfi as the sun sets and the lights of Amalfi coming on and 2) fabulous meal and service at a reasonable price!!!

28/10/2025: We tried pasta with sea food, and tagliatelle with zuccini and prawns. Both dishes were amazing, the prawns specifically were top notch. All pasta cost around 25-30€. The staff were all very kind and friendly, the atmosphere, given the location and view, was pretty good. However, there is a big problem with waps in the area if the reastaurant, which kept coming at us, but the staff was nice and kept chasing them away.

24/10/2025: Overall, the experience was almost below average. The location is truly lovely, and for this very reason, I expected something more from the food. The first course tasted too lemony, overpowering the other flavors; the mussels weren't particularly meaty, while the sea bream was good and delicate, the only dish that truly won me over. Overall, the dishes were well-cooked but didn't leave a lasting impression, lacking that "wow" factor I was hoping for. The service was also a bit below average: the waiters should be more relaxed and wait until customers are finished eating before clearing their plates. In short, if you come here, it's best to come with lower expectations.

30/11/2025: Make sure you walk back up to the lemon grove as you enjoy the fine food. We were greeted by the owner - Carlo - who personally set up our table for 6. DELICIOUS!! I bought his book of fine recipes and will email him a picture of my first effort. You MUST try his excellent restaurant. Paul (visiting from Wisconsin/USA). 02/11/2025: I found myself at this trattoria following a friend's recommendation on this sunny Sunday. I had decided to stroll the streets of this sunny city and try some excellent seafood. We had the sasà appetizer (too bad I don't have a photo), which was really good, I recommend it. We had three different first courses (I know the kitchen must have hated us 😅), but we did it to try their delicacies: pasta with beans and mussels, paccheri with cod, and spaghetti with clams and mussels. I can say they were truly delicious, a lovely home-style flavor with a special touch. Price: €85 for three people (two appetizers, three first courses with Coke and water). Perhaps the service was too fast, but I realize it's a holiday.

06/10/2025: Caution - Do not eat here. We just ate here and my wife has been puking her brains out within an hour of eating here. The service was also not great. The food obviously, not good considering the food poisoning. Also, the amount of cat pee everywhere outside and in the bathrooms was nauseating

05/10/2025: We enjoyed having a very delicious dinner. I had the grilled tuna and my beautiful wife had grilled chicken with basmati rice and vegetables on the side. We enjoyed the place, the music and the hospitality. Very highly recommended to everyone.

07/09/2025: An experience to forget. I was with my family the other evening. We asked for a clam first course and were told that clams were "out of season." (In my opinion, a high-end restaurant shouldn't be in trouble for such a request, and clams shouldn't be that hard to find.) We were served two first courses: paccheri alla genovese with tuna and provola mousse: bland and tasteless pasta, with barely a hint of provola and seafood bark, including, among other things, mussels (which are indeed out of season here) and shrimp that were more than miniature. The same seafood (mussels and miniature shrimp) was also served in the fish soup, which was also flavorless, bland, and devoid of aroma. To avoid further disappointment, we skipped the fried calamari and shrimp and opted for the cuttlefish strips (it looked like squid) with curry, but again, we were disappointed by the unbalanced sweet and sour mix. The wine list and location are worth saving (but the view doesn't match the food). The service was a bit chaotic (we were told they were short-staffed in September).

16/11/2025: WHAT a discovery!! Just off the main pedestrian street in the town centre, from outside the place looks very small whereas they have a large side area so plenty of room. We went for lunch on a Sunday and we will visit again for sure!. Nello himself does the greetings (he is from Naples so the food is also Naples based) and is a very charming host, then a very happy lady came and took our order. We ordered food and drink and despite the number of customers the food arrived quite quickly. We both chose the "Genovese" pasta which is pasta in a special meat sauce and was totally delicious, plus a side plate of broccoli. Together with a carafe of the house red wine (which was also good) we spent a princely 23 Euro per head, EXCELLENT value for money for sure.

09/11/2025: We found ourselves in the alleys of Castellabate by chance and noticed this restaurant... the lady's welcome makes you feel right at home, and Mr. Nello's sweetness is the best. We ordered stuffed zucchini flowers and stuffed anchovies, oh so delicious. Spaghetti with clams and pasta and seafood beans were incredibly delicious, with fresh, quality ingredients; we had to mop up the sauce with the bread. I truly recommend it; everything was delicious.

30/10/2025: We went to the restaurant Salvatore. It was fantastic! The average tourist not accustomed to excellent food should not come here. It would be wasted on them. All others please come.

29/10/2025: The service is unfriendly. Food average. Menu varieties not plenty. Price normal. Annoyingly, the limoncellos served after diner usually served gratis in all restaurants we have visited, were asked to be paid. Very unfriendly.

28/10/2025: Excellent fishmonger's shop, clean and tidy: neat and logical display of products for sale; plus, you can order takeout fish-based first courses, second courses, and side dishes, according to a daily menu. As they say: caught, cooked, and eaten!

29/08/2025: A fishmonger's shop run by polite and helpful young people, the specialty of this business is that it arrives at 7:30 pm. The catch is very fresh and quite varied. The price is reasonable...the only complaint is that some of the larger, more valuable fish is diverted to the restaurant business.

16/08/2025: If you want to eat some "proper" fish without worrying about taking out a mortgage, this is the place to go. The staff is friendly, and the owners know what to recommend.

03/10/2025: My husband and I were welcomed for lunch one Sunday—and I say welcomed because it was 2 PM—during our wanderings to get lunch!! And we couldn't have had better luck! We ate wonderfully, the fish was delicious, and the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable in presenting the dishes to us... And last but not least, I love desserts, but I'm often a little disappointed, so I had an excellent dessert after dinner!! Go there!!!

23/09/2025: --- La Maison del Gusto – 5⭐️ It's a place we're happy to return to often. The welcome is always warm, and the staff is kind and attentive. The food is good and you feel right at home. Recommended!
