Great waterfront location, outstanding restaurant, super friendly staff. The only downside is it's right next to the road, but this is not uncommon in the area and we didn't notice the noise except during dinner.

Beautiful location above the Med a little east of the east tunnel in Praiano. You really must try the grilled sea bass here. It is great, but we have never gotten a bad meal here. Stefania, owner, will often be your waitress. She is very nice and speaks good English. Tell her Glenn and Becky say Hi. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here for a wedding and had the best experience! The hotel was very clean and really well maintained, and the staff was top notch!! They were supper accommodating to our late arrival, both traveling in from out of town and late coming back from the wedding. Not to mention just how cute this place is! I would absolutely recommend The Open Gate hotel to anyone traveling to Praiano!

My wife and I had a tremendous stay at Hotel Open Gate. Pasquale, Daniela and the rest of the staff were amazing and so helpful. The views from the hotel balcony are phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Che vista del Tirreno !!! Vista dall'alto, su uno strapiombo sul mare sconfinato e senza limiti, barche e traghetti in continuo transito, oggetti così piccoli rispetto all'immensita' del blu profondo del Tirreno. Una flute di prosecco, su un tavolino elegante di ferro battuto bianco, la ss163 a separare i tavolini panoramici dall'hotel, un pomeriggio afosoa senza sole, una buona compagnia e....tanto da guardare e pensare, se si immagina al di là dell'orizzonte. E l'immaginazione, credetemi, qui va molto oltre la ringhiera sullo strapiombo...

I walked here for breakfast every morning from my air bnb. The service is amazing, Sonya, and Daniella are soooo nice. I did not stay in the hotel. Every morning there was a gorgeous breakfast buffet coffee included for 25, or a menu to order from. They are so accommodating. The views are beautiful, and it’s right by the bus stop in the middle of Praiano. The food is so good and they even have eggs!!! Yay, my American heart was happy!! A large spread to choose from, this place is worth stopping at. 10/10

Wow!!! All I can say is everyone absolutely needs to book this hotel. From the second you walk in, the hospitality and the charm is above and beyond. Pascale, Daniela and family go above and beyond what you are expecting your stay to be in the Amalfi coast. The rooms are top tier clean, with a beautiful view. Everyone is so responsive in suggestion and what you need. There were a couple nights where we wanted to just stay in and go to the connected Open Gate restaurant below, and the charm and service feeds into the food and experience along the beautiful Mediterranean Sea dinner view. The location is between Positano and Amalfi with great suggestions and directions. Praiano has a perfect little charm and beaches to add if you don’t want the crowds and the wait. Look no further and book this location before it fills up and you miss out on the experience of a lifetime.

We absolutely loved our stay at Open Gate! The staff are the friendliest we have encountered on our whole trip throughout Italy - they truly make you feel like family and go above and beyond. The restaurant is great, and they offer many gluten free options (including breakfast). Close walk to beach and easy bus ride to explore the rest of the coast. We will be back!!

A friend recommended this restaurant and it was fantastic. The views of the water were incredible. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. There was a great menu selection and the prices were quite reasonable. It was our favorite restaurant during our 5 day stay in Praiano.
