17/02/2026: The details, overall a good experience, but to excel you have to pay attention to the details, perhaps starting from welcoming guests with smiles and deigning them a glance. I don't know what I did to the lady who works in the kitchen to be looked at from head to toe, maybe she'll dislike me. This is especially true if the entrance overlooks the kitchen and it's a place that aims to create a welcoming atmosphere, given that it's not very large. Besides the door that doesn't close properly and the cold air from behind in the waiting room, let's say that if I weren't a proactive type, we wouldn't have started off very well. The most uncomfortable detail for me, and one that I never thought I'd see, is a place that uses tables for 4 even for 2 people. The third chair next to the woman for her bag may be comfortable, but it's not in such good taste and ruins the harmony of a beautiful, well-kept, visually pleasing, and very enjoyable room. A truly lovely atmosphere was created throughout the dinner. Perhaps it's those who pay attention to detail that make these things happen, but finding a piece of shell in the mixed salad that I almost ate, or a piece of raw linguine in my mouth, ruined what could have been a very good review of the cuisine. The service was timely and well-managed by the only waitress in the room. Catering to a small but high-quality clientele really adds value to the experience itself. As for the dishes, there's nothing to complain about: the quality is undeniable; the craftsmanship is there, and the flavors are brought out beautifully, in addition to the beautiful presentation. It just lacks a little forethought to be impeccable. The biggest problem that ruins this restaurant's ambitions is, unfortunately, its location.

16/02/2026: We went to this place for the first time on Valentine's Day, my girlfriend and I. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the owner Francesco, a super kind and always helpful person. We ate really well, we will definitely be back, the quality of the products is top-notch, the atmosphere is very welcoming and quiet. I highly recommend going, we will definitely be back soon.

11/03/2026: Fantastic ambiance, especially on a sunny February day, and a dream location. Fresh ingredients and dishes prepared with care and dedication. Unfortunately, the service doesn't live up to the cuisine: the waiters do what they can, but more staff would be needed to limit wait times. An experience worth repeating, but given the circumstances, not during high season.

09/11/2025: Spurred by the avalanche of positive reviews, I decided to try this burger joint, and honestly, I wonder who wrote them, because the experience was one to forget. The fries arrived greasy, soggy, and with that classic used-oil smell that lingers for hours. The burger, advertised as 200 grams, must have weighed less than 100 grams, and was burnt and completely flavorless. Dry bread, stringy meat, and no attention to detail on the plate. The service was borderline irritating: indifferent staff, long waits, and zero customer service. The sauces seemed to be taken from the discount store shelf, and the water was drawn from a home purifier. In short, a place that thrives on questionable reviews rather than actual quality. I won't be returning, and I strongly advise against being fooled like I was.

28/10/2025: What can I say? I haven't tasted such authentic flavors in years. Friendliness and professionalism. Plus, the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. But the sandwich is superb.

05/03/2026: I've never eaten such delicious and tender octopus in my life! Excellent service. Definitely a must-try!

25/02/2026: We made a reservation for lunch for two on Sunday, February 22, 2026. They relegated us to a dark corridor. The atmosphere was crowded and noisy. After a while, they brought us bread and water. During the unnerving wait, about an hour, I ate two baskets. We ordered a plate of spaghetti with anchovy sauce, very salty, overcooked, and cold. A turbot in a bread crust (there was only bread). A fish soup (no fish, just mussels and a few clams in a tasteless broth). A bottle of white wine (300% refill). The price was high for what we were given. We left disappointed and bitter about what we had expected. We definitely won't be returning. Not recommended.

11/11/2025: This restaurant saved me from the salty European food cravings on humid days!! The food was just the right amount of salt and delicious. In Europe, we often eat outside on terraces, so it was unfamiliar, but fun! 😆

01/11/2025: Very bad experience in this restaurant. Staff not serious, we didn't receive what we have ordered and the waiter said just after "sorry we don't have what you want so we replace by this"... And at the next table an old guy was smoking. My wife had the smoke coming to her during the time we were eating. Even the next table complained... Horrible experience despite the sun and the sea.

06/11/2025: Open Gate Hotel in Praiano was absolutely spotless, you can tell right away how much pride the family takes in keeping everything clean and customer first. You truly feel like you’re stepping into their home with how warmly they welcome and cater to guests. The on-site restaurant served some of the best dinner we had in all of Praiano. The breakfast that’s included is perfect, with something for everyone. There’s a great spread of American options but also an authentic Italian breakfast with fresh pastries, fruit, and local specialties that were out of this world. The location is really great. Its about a 10 minute walk to the marina, a bus stop right out front which Pasquale helped make sure we caught and a 5 minute taxi ride to the center or 20 minute walk. This was not my first time visiting Praiano but now I know about this gem. Between the view, the food, and the incredible hospitality, Open Gate Hotel made our stay unforgettable and I will be back.

28/10/2025: Amazing staff who were very helpful with everything. Clean rooms and hotel overall. The restaurant was also very nice, great breakfast. Stunning views from the room. Easy to get around on the Amalfi coast. The hotel was located on a busy main road, so the noise from the road was quite loud. However, this was not a significant issue for us. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and will definitely come back!

16/11/2025: We came across this place on accident in Positano and we're so happy we did. The pizza and octopus were amazing, also tired some recommended dishes. The vibe is perfect, and the service is 5 star.

20/02/2026: The restaurant is typical 1980s fare. The price for four people was €120, including three appetizers, two main courses, and two first courses, which didn't match the price paid. The staff was friendly and helpful.

09/01/2026: I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Everything I've tried has been excellent, from appetizers to first and second courses. Excellent quality and generous portions. The place has a history, and it shows in the decor, which I find elegant and discreet, as well as the impeccable service. They offer fish, meat, sandwiches, and pizza, so you can really find everything.

29/12/2025: Seaside restaurant that serves everything anchovies! Absolutely fantastic. Had 4 anchovie courses for lunch and each one was gastronomic experience. Must see!!! Parking is an issue, our driver dropped us off in front of restaurant otherwise have to park 1/2 mile away

07/11/2025: Was really hopeful it would be great! Kids spaghetti fine, but nothing amazing. Pumpkin risotto was good. Meatballs were raw and sent back. Packaged up as take away and got home... for them to STILL be raw. All of that for the low price of almost 150 euros. Much better places to eat on the coast. Skip it.

28/10/2025: Service was excellent, the food is good, and we definitely enjoyed our dinner. Be sure to make reservations. This restaurant is recommended. Americans please note that the portions are small, relative to typical American expectations for dinner. You definitely need an appetizer with your meal if you are hungry. No salads or vegetables, which is also different relative to typical American meals. This restaurant is not unique in the general lack of vegetables for dinner. We experienced this across Italy and Denmark during our trip, so this must be typical.

21/02/2026: I thought it was love, but it was just a carriage. For Valentine's Day, my wife and I wanted to savor a dish that would make the day unique. When we saw the photo of the iconic dish from Che Avallone, our doubts were dispelled, and without further ado, we decided to spend Valentine's Day at the Cetaria restaurant. But the choice immediately proved to be the wrong one. When the dish "Mixed pasta with smoked lobster, wild oregano, and nduja" arrived, we were sorely disappointed. The dish we wanted to eat and savor was completely different. You can see this in the attached photos. I also ate my wife's dish because I'm a pasta lover and hungry, but at the end of the meal, we decided to point out the difference to the chef, hoping to return to try it again. When, at the end of the meal, we described our disappointment to the excellent waitress, all hell broke loose. The owner began attacking us in a manner that was nothing short of rude, and the chef who intervened later tried to justify our criticisms, but to no avail, and he too began to stiffen. In the end, we asked to return and eat the dish featured on the pages, which we didn't receive today. Perhaps the constructive criticism touched the owner's ego, demonstrating her arrogance. Our advice is to step down from your pedestal and accept the opinion of those who trust you by coming to your restaurant. In response to Chef Avallone Dear Chef, you failed to grasp the thrust of my review, much less the civil criticism we made of the restaurant. I'm sorry, and I'll try to explain myself better once again. The photo published, even though I'm not a professional photographer, is intended to describe the discrepancy of a dish that, although well executed, lacked an element. Our criticism begins by asking if we can return to your restaurant to eat the same artisanal dish you published on your website. Being artisanal certainly means that not all creations are the same, but in essence, they must be similar, and unfortunately, your creation was completely different—I'd say remotely different. Regarding the customer's rightfulness, I agree. The customer isn't always right, but I believe customers should be respected, and the aggressive behavior of the owner, as she described herself, was disrespectful and arrogant. The experience I had at your restaurant remains, even if it was negative, but your response as a Michelin-starred chef leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Having a Michelin star doesn't give you the right to respond with a "bullshit" like my friends. We love going to starred restaurants, and for the first time, we found ourselves in this embarrassing situation where the response outweighed the inadequacy of the service provided. By nature, however, I love giving second chances, and I hope one day to be able to change my mind about what happened, about what seemed like love but was actually just a carriage ride. Best regards

07/01/2026: A wonderful experience. Everything was elegant and refined, with innovative dishes, attention to detail and customer service. The chef was very polite and even came to greet us at our table. I didn't like the confirmation message requiring a dress code, and I found the table service a bit intrusive, constantly refilling your water glasses without asking, considering the price is €5 a bottle, compared to the €110 or €130 set menu.

24/09/2025: Beautiful place, you can get there by boat, the food is excellent, you can have lunch on a terrace directly on the sea, the staff is kind and helpful

17/09/2025: Lovely location, kind staff and great food. Prices are around 25€ for a pasta dish or misto di pesce fritto, but they make it worth it with generous portions + by offering wonderful views of the intimate beach, and kindly transporting you to/from Conca upon request. Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Grazie 🙏
