21/07/2025: I'm giving it 2 stars for the kindness and attentiveness of the 16-year-old who welcomed us and took our order. It's a unique location, where you can watch a breathtaking sunset with the Rocchetta di Briatico in front, perhaps while enjoying an excellent pizza. Unfortunately, the last part of what would be a perfect description falls short given the poor quality of the pizza. The dough was white and almost undercooked, and overall, the pizza tasted like a frozen one. It's a shame, considering the location! I hope they can offer better pizza in the future!

21/07/2025: Fonte Mare restaurant with convenient free parking next door + reserved restaurant parking. Beautiful beach nearby. Simple, good food. Friendly and welcoming owner.

16/08/2025: We had dinner during the week of August 15th. The staff was inexperienced and rude. The food quality and price were not good, and too high for what you get. The atmosphere was too cold, with the temperature inside and outside varying. I don't recommend this place; there are other places where the food is much better.

14/07/2025: Unfortunately, I didn't spend much time there, but I was treated very well, even though I was coming from the free beach next door... the staff were kind and welcoming...

06/07/2025: Dinner for 4 people, slow service, we waited 30 minutes with a prompt after ordering. We took a “last resort” appetizer with some decent tasting fish, but it is absolutely not worth the €18 spent.. a portion of chips, very good pizzas, nice location, overall friendly staff, even if they did not look after the table as we would have liked. Beers and bitters at the end, honest price paid.

07/07/2025: A me non piace scrivere e dare le recensioni, quindi dico solo questo: il personale ha portato l'acqua al nostro cagnolino in una ciotola senza che noi avessimo chiesto nulla. Mi sembra scontato dire che il cibo è di una bontà stratosferica, viste anche le altre recensioni. Fantastici.

04/07/2025: La partecipazione a 4 ristoranti ci ha sicuramente incuriositi, ma abbiamo apprezzato la cena soprattutto per la freschezza della materia prima e la sapienza con cui viene trattata. L'antipasto refresh erano 9 assaggi a base di pesce, sfiziosi e saporiti (assolutamente eccezionale lo sformato di cavolo viola e la polpetta), accompagnati da un crudo di prima qualità; gustosi i bigoli alla tartare di gambero e tartufo nero (a scaglie, e non macinato o in salsa come spesso capita), delicatissimo il rotolino di spada. Gentile il personale di sala, disponibile e attento a scusarsi per un piccolo ritardo nel servizio. A nostro personale avviso, il vincitore del programma di Borghese.

31/07/2025: Terrible experience! I'd like to know who dares to write "fresh fish." Spaghetti with frozen clams mixed with lupini beans... it would have been better to use garlic and oil, at least they would have had some flavor. Defrosted rolls, raw and piping hot. Absurd prices, 2 sautéed frozen clams for an appetizer €50 (not even in Cannes). Calabria will never move forward, only backward!

25/07/2025: Quite simply: the food is truly delicious! The service is discreet and fast enough to allow you to enjoy lunch or dinner.

28/07/2025: An appetizer, two first courses, and a second course, which we didn't even have time to take a picture of because it was so delicious. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was amazing: fresh, high-quality fish. It's now a regular stop.

24/07/2025: Trattoria-pizzeria with a refined and chic style. Good pizza, especially the Calabrian one with 'n duja and Tropea onions, and excellent swordfish with caponata. Service was a bit slow, but that was justified by the fact that the place was busy. Prices are quite high.

15/07/2025: Magnificent restaurant. This is my second year in Parghelia, and Portale is my go-to place for a proper dinner. Excellent food, welcoming staff, top-quality ingredients, and incredibly affordable prices—the best place to eat in the area. I highly recommend it. Try it and believe it.

08/08/2025: I ordered a slice of beef steak for dinner. They gave me a time, I showed up five minutes early, and my food was just coming out of the oven—extraordinary timing. The meat was excellent quality, cooked perfectly and to perfection. Just the right amount of spice. The price was absolutely average. An extremely positive experience.

21/07/2025: We haven’t been to such a great restaurant in a long time! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food was pure bliss – every bite was a delight. We truly enjoyed our meal, and if we ever pass by again, we’ll definitely come back. Definitely!

29/07/2025: We visited this restaurant. I don't eat anything from the sea. Two very friendly people came to our table to discuss the options the chef could prepare for me. I was extremely pleased with what they served. My wife had the tuna for her main course, which was also delicious. We even received an appetizer on the house beforehand. The wine list was also excellent. Small but sufficient. Highly recommended!!! So kind... compliments!!

27/07/2025: This review is about the restaurant. It's a bit of a unique place; it's not always clear when it's open and when it's closed (I've happened to walk past at times Google said it was open and find it closed, even though it wasn't Monday or anything else, with no notice or sign on the door). The food is well-presented but has a few small flaws, such as not enough salt, etc. The prices are also a bit high. It might be worth a try if you want seafood with a view of the main street.

12/08/2025: Good dishes but small portions, I don't recommend it if you're hungry, you come in empty-handed and leave starving.

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out — the two gentlemen who looked after us were exceptional. Warm, attentive, and sincerely kind, they created an atmosphere that felt both relaxed and special. We shared the fried mixed seafood, and it was outstanding — perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, capturing the essence of the sea. The lasagne was equally memorable — rich, comforting, and clearly homemade with love. You could taste the pride and tradition in every bite. La Forgia feels like a place where food, people, and passion come together effortlessly. Thank you for making our evening so memorable — we’ll carry this experience with us long after we’ve left Tropea. Highly recommended.

22/08/2025: Excellent restaurant in the historic streets of Tropea! Romantic yet down-to-earth atmosphere 🫶🏼, incredibly kind and friendly staff, IMPECCABLE food, unbeatable catch of the day with their capone this evening, unsurpassed fried fish as an appetizer, the best in Tropea. Even the accompanying fries were perfect, excellent wine, you must try the typical Calabrian Kaciuto amaro! 10 out of 10 forever, it's the sixth year we've been back and they haven't put a foot wrong!!! A round of applause to those who love catering like them!!

20/08/2025: We stopped casually without reservationtet the staff was able to accommodate us immediately. We particularly appreciated the honest and straightforward advice on the menu and wine selection. Food was great!

13/07/2025: A magical location, with the sunset colors accompanying the dinner. The appetizers and first course were excellent, but it's a shame about the fried food—absolutely avoid it! The whole dinner suffered!

11/07/2025: The place is nice, but we risked food poisoning. We ordered an appetizer, but the octopus was bad, even by the owner's admission. She, however, didn't flinch, charging us in full without the slightest hint of a discount or even caring about our protest, which nevertheless occurred. Minimal portions and no particular attention. I had the impression that there was zero concern for the customer. Avoid.

04/08/2025: I'm giving it one star because zero isn't an option. The staff is shoddy and sloppy; they got my dish wrong, brought me something else without even remaking it, and then passed my order on to another table (the wrong order at that table, too). The food is tasteless, something even a second-rate seafood restaurant would know how to prepare. The bill was steep, and they didn't take away the wrong dish, without acknowledging their own professional mistakes. A complete fail! You should change your profession! Absolutely avoid!

29/07/2025: We ate authentic, expertly prepared seafood dishes in a location with a truly exceptional view of the Diamante sea. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the owner, who was incredibly kind and empathetic. We had forgotten our daughter's pasta in the apartment, and he made himself available by sharing his son's pasta and preparing baby food with the sauce for our little one. Since the restaurant doesn't offer children's dishes on the menu, it was a gesture we will never forget. God bless you.

05/07/2025: Beautiful and suggestive location, good service.. with surprises (I booked without knowing anything but watch their videos on social media to understand 😂) The only flaw is the HIGH prices.. at least 10/15 more than they are worth (i.e. 30 euros for a large and good plate of pasta, for goodness sake, but with frozen shrimps it's maybe a bit too much.. or am I wrong?) it seemed to me like I was paying more for the show.. it's difficult to find something under €30. I paid €150: 1 large appetizer, 1 shrimp tartare (but the waiter had made me understand that it was part of the appetizer courses already mentioned before), 2 first courses and 1 glass of wine For the rest, I also found a party there so fun and entertainment guaranteed but if you are looking for tranquility and intimacy it didn't seem right to me (at least when I went)☺️
