24/02/2026: It was a challenge to find a restaurant open for dinner during the week in February in Scilla. We weren't expecting much, considering it's not the peak season, but we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was very unique, elegant, with background music and extremely friendly staff who offered us two glasses of prosecco and an aperitif while we waited for our dishes. I highly recommend it.

22/02/2026: A quaint setting. We ordered two spaghetti dishes that looked like clams, but were actually a garlic and oil dish for €22—and I repeat, €22 per dish. Two fried calamari dishes arrived dark and bitter, and the fryer oil absolutely needed replacing, for €15 per portion. I have to say, it was one of the worst lunches I've ever had.

18/01/2026: The view is beautiful but very poor service. The woman receptionist and one woman member of the restaurant staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. It’s clear they do not enjoy working with people. For frequent travelers like us, this was a shocking experience.

28/10/2025: Cozy hotel, good breakfast, dinner not so good. The surroundings are a bit boring around the hotel.

03/01/2026: We were pleasantly surprised! Authentic seafood cuisine, discreet service, and a very elegant restaurant. Definitely worth a try.

27/12/2025: The food was excellent: fresh fish, well-executed recipes, and a truly excellent value, especially considering the tasting menu. We chose a seafood appetizer, both first courses, and baked sea bass and grilled swordfish for our main courses, and were very pleased with the overall quality. The service was less positive, as it was a bit rushed at times and the menu explanations were unclear. It wasn't a major issue, probably just an off day, but with a little more attention to detail, the experience would have been even better. This restaurant deserves a positive rating for its seafood.

07/12/2025: I was there with my family, unfortunately it was all negative. We had 3 grilled fish and a mixed fried fish, the grilled fish was burnt and the fried fish was soft and greasy, the hot house white wine was served in a carafe placed inside the ice bucket and to finish it off, lemon sorbet made up of 3 scoops of ice cream with a little vodka, all this with a truly excessive price both for the place that needs renovating and for the quality of food and service.

17/10/2025: Excellent in every way, I don't understand how anyone could complain. Clean and welcoming atmosphere, kindness, courtesy, and hospitality. Excellent food from appetizer to dessert. Location with a fantastic view... Owners and staff are always available. We will definitely be back.

08/09/2025: A welcoming place with a sea view that alone is worth the visit. But the real surprise was the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. We ordered an appetizer and a pizza: everything was truly excellent, but the pizza was a revelation. In all my years, I've never eaten anything so good: crispy, light, and super digestible. The service was impeccable, with kind and helpful staff who made you feel at home. The prices were very fair for such high quality. We'll definitely be back! Kudos to the entire staff!

15/08/2025: Unspeakable, they don't take anything away, they make mistakes, burnt food, slow service with no tomorrow. But above all, after an endless service, THEY TURN OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING to send you away. Yes, in my exact words: We have to close.

25/12/2025: Beautiful, wide beach, perfect for long walks, with many amenities available. There's a restaurant and a beach bar, where you can book a fantastic boat trip or even rent a boat, as well as pedal boats and more. Suitable for families and accessible to disabled guests, there's paid parking. I recommend it because the sea is gorgeous here too, and it's very convenient for the services it offers. The parking barriers are new; so far, everything's fine.

13/10/2025: From the outside, it looks unassuming. But the seating is very pleasant, and the staff was very friendly and personable. The fish was excellent, as was the caretaker. The price was very fair. It's a shame that today is our last day of vacation and we haven't found our way in before.

08/12/2025: We ate well, all seafood-based, the stew was excellent, I found a splinter of the shell in the peppered mussels, the price of 36 euros per person for an appetizer, first course, and second course was very good, it's a shame you can't choose à la carte; if you want just a second course or a first course you pay the same amount, the staff were friendly, the bathrooms were very large, and the nice thing was, there were fresh flowers. It's a shame there isn't a very visible sign outside.

26/10/2025: This restaurant is a bit unremarkable, both in terms of location and menu. It offers seafood dishes with a €29 fixed-price menu featuring a choice of three from nine options. The dishes are well-prepared, but there's no hint of traditional ingredients, and the menu is a bit out of place.

25/09/2025: The location is cute, clean, and very tidy, with both indoor and outdoor tables. We chose the outdoor area, which was a great idea because it's surrounded by a green garden with nautical decorations, a combination we really liked. We weren't very hungry, so we went straight to the main course. The swordfish rolls were really good, with a delicate flavor, very pleasant and refined. The mixed fried fish, consisting of mixed seafood, shrimp, and red sole, coated in a very thin batter, was also crispy and very fresh. The staff were friendly, it wasn't crowded or noisy, and the music was soft and pleasant. For two main courses, a water, a coffee, and a cover charge, we paid less than €50. Since the restaurant is located on a small, fairly narrow street, I recommend parking on the main road, where there is free parking.

24/09/2025: For us, it's always been a constant. In the cool, quiet garden, unpretentious cuisine, yet deliciously rich and made with excellent local produce, can complement any friendly, often family, conversation, because ultimately, you also feel like a guest of a friendly and welcoming family. The service is discreet, precise, and punctual.

19/02/2026: Invited by friends, it had been many years since I'd been here to Ancora. What can I say? It's always excellent, fresh fish, beautiful dining room with soft colors, all overlooking the sea. Dining here is truly enjoyable, especially on a sunny day. Thanks to Pino for recommending us, and especially thanks to Simone for his hospitality. I recommend it for its quality, courtesy, and good price. But above all, they make you feel at home.

01/11/2025: My favorite place for dinner in Tropea. Delicious food at absolutely fair prices. Lots of fish dishes, a very good wine selection. The Osteria is truly a little gem, tucked away in a quiet side street in the old town. Anyone looking for a relaxing evening with good food in Tropea should definitely stop by.

29/12/2025: Christmas 2025. Excellent and beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea with a stunning view. Lunch with excellent dishes, rich in flavor with unusual ingredients, excellent service too. In conclusion, this is a place I absolutely recommend to Le Castella. We will definitely be back. Well done!
