24/02/2026: For a traveler, it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in a place from the past that tells its story and traditions. It's precisely on this point that I feel compelled to emphasize to the owners that their food, while good, betrays our Umbrian tradition. My tagliatelle with artichokes and pancetta were practically unseasoned, contrary to our tradition of abundance. A welcoming host offers plates overflowing with pasta and, above all, with toppings that often equal the quantity of pasta. This applies to a first course, a second course, a dessert, and even a simple sandwich. Our grandparents welcomed you with what they had, but they gave it all away. In short, good, but stingy, and unfortunately, the price isn't the only thing that's salty.

16/03/2026: Over the years, I have had very mixed experiences in this restaurant. Overall, the food is pretty nice, though the wait is always very long. Dont go there if you are in a hurry. Also staff could be a little nicer/ sympathetic when refusing customers without bookings. Maybe they feel they don’t have to make an effort because they are mentioned in every guidebook and their address is very central? In any case, there are better restaurants in Assisi and you may get a better welcome elsewhere so do keep that in mind.

14/03/2026: We came to this restaurant not through reviews, but through the recommendation of a host who raved so much about it that we couldn't help but book. So, I booked the 7:30 PM table about 15 days in advance. We arrived right on time and full of high expectations. They seated us, brought us drinks, and after a few minutes we ordered. The first course was torta al testo with vegetables. The first course was served cold, the second courses were unseasoned and tasteless. The second course was suckling pig with potatoes and stuffed guinea fowl, and again, it didn't live up to expectations. The suckling pig was dry and hard to chew, the potatoes were microwaved and extremely salty. The guinea fowl, however, arrived "messy," meaning that so many spices, herbs, and various sauces had been added to the dish that they completely covered the flavor of the guinea fowl. Estimated dinner time: about 30 minutes. They served us so quickly that not even fast food restaurants can keep up with that pace, and obviously this rush to get us all fed and then quickly send us away reached its peak when, when I asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, my husband replied that I would get one, but, I should add, not right away, in a little while (just enough time to finish the wine). Less than a minute later, the waitress arrived with the coffee. I told her I wanted to wait, and she irritably told me she'd bring it to me in a minute, as I'd said. Now, I understand quite well that these mechanisms are designed to get us to leave the table quickly, but they weren't necessary because the staff's lack of courtesy, empathy, and touchiness would have made us leave the table regardless of the coffee. I should add that no one said goodbye or thanked us as we left. They did, however, charge us the €60 for three courses. That said, I strongly advise against this place. The quality isn't worth the price. Move on.

14/03/2026: Typical local cuisine, reasonable wait, the cold cuts platter is all in all limited to 3 specialties, the pasta is good, the cheeses are also generous portions.

21/02/2026: Truly an excellent experience! The atmosphere was very welcoming, with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere: it wasn't too noisy and the ambiance was truly comfortable, which is not a given. There's also a very pleasant outdoor area, perfect for a quiet al fresco meal. The food is excellent, with traditional dishes prepared with great care and using the freshest ingredients. An added bonus is definitely the owner, who is very kind, helpful, and attentive to his customers, making you feel at home.

20/02/2026: I've been coming to this place for over ten years during the truffle festival. What can I say? The owners are kind and friendly, as is the rest of the staff. Excellent food and very competitive prices. Try it, you won't regret it.

28/01/2026: Impeccable hospitality. We spent New Year's Eve dinner with a couple of friends and it was a truly pleasant experience. Simona and the entire staff were extremely kind, helpful, and attentive. The food was excellent, offering authentic Umbrian dishes for a truly lavish dinner: three appetizers, a surprise fondue, two first courses, two second courses, a sorbet, and a dessert—all carefully crafted and flavorful. We were particularly impressed by the attention paid to allergies: despite the busy evening, we were treated with great professionalism and even had a special meat menu prepared for us. The price was absolutely fair and the dishes were truly delicious. A heartfelt thank you to Simona and all her staff for their hospitality and the care they gave their guests. Highly recommended. See you soon!

24/10/2025: It's the fourth time I've been there and as far as quality and service are concerned, there's nothing to complain about, just that (at least for my pockets) I can't afford it... spending €103.00 for 4 pizzas, 2 beers, 2 desserts and 1 coffee makes me think that it has become a place suitable for people with higher incomes than mine💁‍♂️

08/03/2026: Yesterday, March 7, 2026, we arrived in Castiglione del Lago. We weren't sure where to eat, and by chance we found this restaurant. We called and booked a table for two. When we arrived, we were greeted by a waitress named Ludovica. She was extremely polite, kind, and above all, very professional, and knew exactly what to recommend. We ordered a house appetizer, a first course: Pici al ragù (a type of pasta) and Pici al cacio e pepe (a type of pasta typical of Rome). This was a very strange choice, considering it's a Roman type of pasta. She also recommended a local sparkling wine (excellent) and a bottle of water. 1 coffee for the modest sum of €47.00. I have to be honest: we ate divinely, everything was delicious, in fact, we promised ourselves we'd absolutely return as soon as we're in the area. A heartfelt compliment goes to Ludovica, the waitress who served us. Everyone is very kind. I highly recommend it. Daniele

11/03/2026: Exceptional rooms with a view of the main square, where you can also see the Sant'Anna station. Strategic location for reaching both the historic center and the minimetro service. There is a large free parking lot where you can park your car. Clean, elegant, and spectacular rooms, in my opinion. It's a shame we'll only be staying one night, but it will be unforgettable. Congratulations. Highly recommended.

07/03/2026: Beautiful, clean, new rooms, and kind people. Only one night, but we had a good stay. The breakfast was plentiful and perfect, perhaps for those who prefer something different than me, they could add some fresh fruit, but otherwise, everything was fine.

The menu is very interesting and offers many vegan options. Everything was delicious, and attention was paid to every detail of the presentation. I'll definitely be back!

28/01/2026: The restaurant is very charming, housed in a rustic farmhouse, furnished in an equally rustic style, and very welcoming. The service was good, everyone was very friendly, but what I really didn't like was the plating technique for the food we ordered. Specifically, the pasta—umbricelli, if I'm not mistaken—was sparse, presented on a huge plate, and the seafood was in its shells, making it seem like a huge dish, but in reality there was very little pasta. The same trick was used with the fried fish, accompanied by homemade potato chips, mixed with the fish, resulting in all potatoes and very little fried food. I don't think this place is for me.
