14/06/2026: I dined there for the first time, and it lived up to our expectations. It was recommended to me by a neighbor I'd met by chance at another restaurant years ago. Julio is famous for his meat, and I can attest to that. I had an off-menu asado (recommended by the talented waitress) and an entrecôte: both were excellent. If you love grilled meat, this is a place you absolutely must try: you'll definitely be back!

10/06/2026: Very large terrace and menu! Excellent pizza. Very good service, reasonably priced by Swiss standards. Cool combination with the pub and the large beer selection. Highly recommended for a casual dinner – without a romantic atmosphere – even with children. Plenty of parking.

The food is truly amazing!
My wife and I had an excellent platter: pici with ricotta and guanciale pesto and a cheese and speck pizza.
Everything was delicious.

20/05/2026: Everything here is perfect! From fish to meat dishes, including game. The raw fish dishes are simply excellent.
19/05/2026: A pleasant surprise...to be repeated.
We were also lucky; thanks to a timely cancellation, we were able to have lunch, otherwise we would have been fully booked.
Thank you again... :) You were the icing on the cake.

Great food and lovely staff.
29/05/2026: A lovely lakeside restaurant with outdoor seating, both on the edge of the lake. We had a lovely meal, including the excellent lake appetizer and fried seafood. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The prices are reasonable. We didn't book, but it was a Friday lunch. Great job, well done!

14/09/2025: The name "La Casina" is truly fitting because it truly makes you feel at home. The owner exceeded our expectations: extremely kind, humble, and incredibly helpful. We'd love to return to that day to enjoy the excellent, high-quality food and the perfect portions. All our guests were very satisfied, including the simplicity and elegance of the room. Congratulations to the entire Casina Rossa staff for their dedication. You gave us an unforgettable day. 🥹❤️

03/06/2026: Excellent food, demonstrating excellent value for money. The grilled whitefish was excellent. All the dishes were good. However, the lack of coordination between the various courses served to my group and the biblical wait time for some of us to receive our dishes were rather negative, perhaps due to inefficient kitchen management. We sat down at 8:30 PM, ordered already at 9:00 PM, the last courses for some were served around 11:00 PM, for others at 9:45 PM, and the first courses for some at 9:45 PM, for others at 9:15 PM. A shame, because the food is truly excellent.

19/04/2026: We stopped by chance, during a trip on a beautiful Sunday in April.
We arrived after 2:00 PM, wondering if they'd still welcome us (we know that customers arriving after a certain hour can be a bit "tiring" for the kitchens, especially when they order à la carte 😬).
But we were warmly welcomed anyway!
We were tempted by the rich and succulent Sunday menu offered by the house, but then opted for something lighter.
We started with a truly delicious lake appetizer, then tried the pici with perch, which fully satisfied our curiosity, since we didn't even know what they were 😅!
I'd say we were satisfied, recommended!
07/04/2026: This is a nice restaurant where you eat very well, the food is of excellent quality. I stopped here on Easter Monday, perhaps because it was a holiday? Perhaps because it was busy or I don't know what, but we came in at 12:30 and left at 3:30. We were two couples. We had two white fish, two chips with sauce, a mixed roast, three steaks, a fried potato, a mixed salad, a green salad, and a grilled vegetable, which we didn't receive. The price, in my opinion, is not the best. For example, a picio with sauce, a small steak, maybe 1.50 grams, it wasn't a grilled vegetable. Wine and water often cost €45 per person. I promised myself I'd try again on a normal day to judge better. Of course, the timing and the price didn't help this restaurant this time, but I still recommend it for good food.

27/07/2025: Cucina ricercata con prodotti del territorio, particolarmente buoni gli gnocchetti al ragù di Tinca con fagiolina (legume del Trasimeno). Delizioso lo speck di anatra e il dolce di pesche con coulis di mango e gelato alla vaniglia. Servizio impeccabile.

10/04/2026: We stayed for five nights over Easter at Palazzo Barbini, a historic residence in the heart of Castiglione del Lago, and the experience was truly enjoyable. The property is ancient and charming, full of character and atmosphere. It's important to note that this is an authentic historic residence, so you have to like that style: those looking for modern, standardized spaces might not fully appreciate its charm. The owner was very kind and helpful. We had a small issue with the heating, but it was resolved quickly and with great care, which we particularly appreciated.
Overall, a stay recommended for those who love historic sites, an old-world atmosphere, and a warm welcome.
