Maestoso crudo di pesce, spaghettini alle arselle fresche fa-vo-lo-si, un buon dentice al forno con le olive e patate. Tutto freschissimo e ben presentato. Servizio impeccabile fatto da giovani preparati. Abbiamo chiesto una bottiglia di vino inusuale e la temperatura non era perfetta. Prezzi accettabili in proporzione alla grande qualità. 22/09/2025: Nice, spacious, rustic place. The pizza was too thin, it was a thin sheet of pastry, well-filled. The waitress who served us wasn't exactly kind, her responses were cold and hasty, a bit crude. I don't think I'll be back.

09/07/2025: We came for lunch yesterday. They had us sit outside, and each table had a flower, and I have to say I really liked that! Welcoming place. We ordered the Antipasto Del Pozzo, a truffle-filled fillet steak with roasted potatoes, a tagliata with rustic fries, a green spring ravioli, roasted fries, coffee, water, and wine. Good value for what we got. Overall, it's good.

07/09/2025: I booked through TheFork and was contacted by the manager to cancel and make the reservation directly with him. He would have given me a small discount. We were a group of about ten people, some of whom were from abroad and accustomed to high-quality dishes. I recommend trying a typical Tuscan dish, ribollita. I've never eaten something so bland, I felt ashamed as if I'd cooked it myself. Those who ordered the appetizers with Colonnata lardo were satisfied. Those who ordered the spaghetti with scampi described their dishes as average. The service was attentive, but it didn't make up for the quality of the dishes. When it came time to pay, I felt cheated. I wanted to buy lunch, but I couldn't pay by credit card because the POS wasn't working. Not having enough cash and the impossibility of finding an ATM in the pouring rain outside, I was forced to take up a collection. We got the promised discount because we didn't have the requested total. This is definitely not the image I wanted to convey of Tuscan restaurants. What a shame!

The maître d' was kind, attentive, and very sociable, and he took us on this journey, as was the other waiter, who was always efficient. Thank you, you're a wonderful team. 22/09/2025: L’imbuto was a truly joyful experience. The wait staff were friendly and clearly having fun presenting the dishes as they got progressively more whimsical (I will not spoil some highlights with pictures). The food was inventive and amazing, particularly the amount of flavor packed into the various sauces. The wine list was extensive. And finally, I got to meet Cristiano Tomei himself, a man who I’ve watched for years on ItaliaSquisita videos. He was just as gregarious and fun in real life. One thing to note is that the restaurant recently relocated to about 10 minutes/3km outside of the city’s walls. It is very easy to find a taxi from Lucca to the restaurant, but not easy at all to find a taxi back. Pre-arrange a return ride.

20/09/2025: Every now and then, you enter a restaurant that many don't review objectively and it turns out to be better than expected. This is the case. A family atmosphere, extremely kind staff, and exquisite cuisine. The price, as with all places, is proportional to the quality of the products offered, and to say you spend so much in a place like this is absurd. I hope to return at the first opportunity! 🤤

15/09/2025: Addendum: The visit in 2025 was surprising. In my opinion, the restaurant's quality has declined significantly. The service was inattentive and initially brought the wine we didn't order. The appetizers weren't served properly and had to be taken back. The quality of the food wasn't nearly as good as in previous years. It's also surprising how the owner makes a lot of effort for certain guests, but doesn't even greet others and ignores them. The way he treats his employees/staff is also surprising to an observing guest and tends to disrupt the flow. The employees aren't treated as equals, but are spoken to roughly. The atmosphere suffers as a result. Like every year, we went to Vipore for dinner in 2021. The food and service were, as usual, excellent. The wine was outstanding. We felt completely at home.
