That was amazing! The value for money was outstanding, the quality incredibly high, and everything from the taste to the presentation was superb. The portions, in particular, were more than you'd expect for the price and the variety across the different courses. This restaurant is exceptional and truly family-run. It's Michelin-star quality! Absolutely.

To conclude our 30-plus-day campervan trip through Tuscany, we were looking for a special restaurant – and we definitely found a little gem. What an experience! Even the view from the outside was impressive and raised our expectations. We received a very warm welcome at reception and were shown to a very inviting table. The entire restaurant is decorated with great attention to detail, style, and beautiful fabrics and decorations. This prevents everything from feeling kitschy; instead, it's exceptionally tasteful and stylish. The menu focuses heavily on fish and seafood – which is precisely why we came here. It's only in Italian, and some dishes are quite unusual, so we occasionally used the translator on our phones. The staff was very helpful in this regard. The evening began in a unique way: A pitcher of dry ice, infused with a fragrance of mandarin, lemon, orange, and bergamot, was placed on a rotating plate. When water was added, it created an impressive reaction – intended, according to the staff, to help us relax and set the mood for the evening. The menu is heavily influenced by fish and seafood – which is exactly why we came here. The food we ordered was a feast for the eyes and tasted absolutely divine. Everything looked incredibly fresh and was artfully presented. The service was consistently professional and exceptionally charming. A perfect evening to end our trip. Highly recommended – reservations are absolutely essential, as all the tables were occupied during our visit.

Friendly from the first to the last second. The menu was extensive, which we, as non-Italians, found a bit difficult to read quickly. No problem at all. We were helped! We were given as much time as we needed to peruse the menu thoroughly and decide what we wanted to eat. As in many good Italian restaurants, there was a wide selection of excellent wines. But even for us, who enjoy pairing several wines with a meal, there were half bottles from very good winemakers and some absolute highlights by the glass. The seafood and fish-focused cuisine was always perfectly prepared. The olive oil was superb. Wonderful music. Even if you don't particularly like Viareggio, you'll always find yourself wondering if there's a reason to return and eat at this restaurant again! Thank you for a lovely and successful evening.

This review is based on a visit to the restaurant a few years ago. I wrote "visit" for a reason, because entering "Pazza Idea" means being warmly welcomed into an intimate and friendly atmosphere! It's a complete sensory experience: for the eyes, for the Victorian-style ambiance, for the aromas, and for the palate! It's truly worth it.

A very welcoming and chic restaurant. The fish is incredibly fresh and excellently cooked. The staff is dedicated and passionate about their work. I also highly recommend the pastry shop next door; the profiteroles are delicious.

L'Imbuto

10/03/2026: Excellent in every way... flavour, consistency, hospitality... worth trying and then definitely returning...
23/02/2026: We chose the maximum 9-course menu. I don't know if it was because there were only a few of us in the restaurant or if it should be counted differently, but we must have tasted about twenty items and left feeling full. Some were very good (bark, savory crème brûlée, salted crème caramel, artichoke, tortellini), some were more anonymous (the fish soups at the beginning), and some I personally didn't like. Specifically, some dishes (e.g., spaghetti with Versilian pesto) used helichrysum, which has a very distinctive flavor. And yesterday I discovered that I don't like helichrysum. In general, there are many dishes that lean toward the bitterness. My wife, who chose the gluten-free menu, had a spectacular bread. At the end, the chef came out and lingered for a very pleasant conversation. If you were spending €100 each, it would be highly recommended. We spent €340 for two with two glasses of regular sparkling wine. In my opinion it's too much
