13/07/2025: It's Italian with heart, a small, beautiful restaurant on a hillside. The service, which speaks three languages and is always a laugh, is priceless. The food is indescribable (Italian cuisine of a very high standard). Thank you for the wonderful food.

02/08/2025: Lo Sconciglio is a nice fish restaurant in the middle of the square in front of the old harbour in Porto Santo Stefano. At start the general waiter was a bit too pushy to let us choose from the menu and fresh whole fish. He said because otherwise our children would have to wait long for their pasta. I think it had other reasons. Later it became more relaxed and we had a lovely evening. The ambiance on the terrace is good and in mid-summer very lively with artists performing on stage very nearby. Don't mind the plastic terrace chairs that's just typical Italian. The kids had enough room to play on the field next to the terrace. They put water on the table we didn't ask for, be clear if you don't want any of it. For children there is only fanta or coca-cola to choose. We had the local Ansonica white wine, which is a darker white wine and quite heavy but delicious. The bruschetta al pomodoro wasn't really special. I think there are tomatoes with more taste. I'd recommend the spaghetti alla vongole and the gamberoni in padella. The padella is delicious (use the bread to empty the plate!). We had limoncello 🍋 and a cafe before some Gelato in the direct neighborhood. Would recommend this fish restaurant but be clear that you're not in a hurry 😎

01/08/2025: Really very average considering 🙈 what I was advised.... Disappointed 😞 As a Swiss chef who has worked in 3 Michelin ☆ restaurants... And even without that... No one can fool me!!! You really need to question yourself ❓️ ❓️ ❓️ ABE... Once and certainly not twice, sorry.

16/07/2025: Ogni anno tornare a I 4 Gatti è come riscoprire un angolo speciale dell’Elba, dove il gusto incontra l’eleganza. Il locale si conferma un posto raffinato, curato in ogni dettaglio, con un’atmosfera ricca di storia e fascino: un ambiente unico, capace di raccontare molto più di una semplice cena. La cucina è il vero fiore all’occhiello: piatti deliziosi, preparati con grande attenzione e passione. Il fuori menù è sempre una sorpresa gradita e, in questa occasione, è stato quasi un segno del destino: speravo nella fregola di cacciucco… ed eccola lì, proprio quella sera. Semplicemente perfetta. Il servizio è impeccabile. La signora Stefania, sempre gentile e professionale, quest’anno ci ha accolti con un sorriso ancora più luminoso, reso speciale da un lieto evento familiare. E poi c’è Alessio, suo figlio: una garanzia quando si tratta di consigliare il vino giusto. Competente e attento. Un’esperienza che va ben oltre il semplice “mangiar bene”. I 4 Gatti resta un punto fermo, una tappa imperdibile per chi cerca autenticità, gusto e calore umano sull’Isola d’Elba

21/07/2025: Sono stata in questo ristorante con il mio compagno e, purtroppo, l’esperienza è stata decisamente al di sotto delle aspettative. Il servizio è stato lentissimo, con attese interminabili tra una portata e l’altra, e il personale di sala si è dimostrato poco professionale e per nulla cortese. Il livello del cibo, poi, è stato sorprendentemente deludente: piatti privi di carattere, senza alcuna vera ricerca o emozione. Nulla che possa giustificare le ambizioni (o dichiarazioni) da ristorante stellato. Onestamente, non troviamo alcun motivo per consigliare questo locale. Anzi, lo sconsigliamo vivamente. Un’esperienza che non ripeteremo mai più.

19/07/2025: abbiamo sperimentato il menù di mare preparato dal nuovo chef che ci è stato riferito essere arrivato solo da pochi giorni. i piatti tutti molto equilibrati e ricchi di sensazioni , che nel mantenere i sapori di base si fondono con ingredienti a sorpresa mai esasperati nè dominanti per un connubio esperenziale perfetto. un servizio impeccabile , molto apprezzato nella assidua attenzione al commensale, resa insospettabile dalla giusta distanza ma presente nei preziosi e cordiali consigli del maitre di sala

07/08/2025: Our hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner, and unfortunately, our experience wasn't a positive one. The atmosphere is welcoming, but the quality of the food, while acceptable, doesn't justify the final price. We ordered four first courses and, while waiting, asked for an appetizer. Our experience began to wane when the waiter, barely having time to finish the first course, asked us what desserts we'd ordered. Even though I was still hungry, I decided to order a second course, but unfortunately, it was served alongside the desserts, an inelegant move. We left feeling tired and weighed down by the frenetic service. I can't help but recommend avoiding it, unless you decide to visit during a low-traffic period. The cashier, moreover, didn't even bother to ask how our experience had gone; if she had, I would have clearly expressed my disappointment. Regarding the bill, we were shocked, despite the discount—sheer madness, I say. Bottom line, there are plenty of better options nearby, and if someone asked me to come back, I wouldn't.

12/04/2025: Buonasera, sono stata a mangiare in questo ristorante con un’amica. Abbiamo trovato la location calda e accogliente, personale cordiale e simpatico…nulla da reclamare. Cibo ottimo: abbiamo ordinato un antipasto per due che offriva diverse specialità di mare e a seguire un primo di scampi veramente ottimo. La scelta dei dolci non di nostro gradimento ma questa è solo un’opinione personale!!!! Il prezzo abbordabile… Consiglio questo locale a tutti.

20/06/2025: STREPITOSO!!! Ieri sera passeggiando per il paese ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante, siamo stati accolti con grande simpatia. Ci siamo trovati in un ambiente molto piacevole, arredando con buon gusto (se potete prenotate il tavolo sul terrazzino, molto romantico). In attesa delle nostre scelte, hanno servito una pappa al pomodoro molto delicata e buona. Tagliere di formaggi per aprire le danze, accompagnati da miele, marmellata di fichi e olive, a seguire le tagliatelle al ragù bianco di chianina erano buonissime, io ho preso il filetto alla griglia al tartufo, eccezionale davvero, la carne si scioglieva in bocca. Per finire torcolo con il vin santo.

02/07/2025: They pass off the material as high quality when in the end it is all discount stuff. For example, the stracciatella (sealed container opened in front of me) inserted in my sandwich is from the discount store like any other product on display. There is nothing "organic" here. Owners most likely tired of always repeating the same false answers to customer requests and questions. Furthermore, the prices are very high compared to what is offered, i.e. discount store cold cuts and cheeses. These are not niche products. There is no bathroom (so we were told) and there are no seats.

01/07/2025: Wir kommen seit Jahren zu diesem schönen Ort. Wer allerdings einen guten Kaffee oder Cappuccino erwartet wird schwer enttäuscht. Kapselkaffee in Italien widerspricht diesem schönen Land. Mit der schlechteste Cappuccino/ Latte Macchiato den wir je getrunken haben. Dann lieber keinen Kaffee anbieten. Die Bedienung war wir immer freundlich. Der Garden selbst wunderschön

28/04/2025: Siamo stati a pranzo in questa osteria, nonostante fosse tardi ci hanno accolto gentilmente ed è stata una vera sorpresa. Antipasto buonissimo ma soprattutto i ravioli con ragù di salumi toscani e tartufo veramente eccezzionali. E prezzo molto onesto. Consigliatissimo!

02/03/2025: Vasta scelta anche per chi è intollerante al glutine. Atmosfera tranquilla e rustica. Servizio ottimo e cibo di qualità. Prezzi nella norma. Siamo tornati già 3 volte !!

A fresh, summery atmosphere... a light, positive welcome. Good food! "The choice" on the Riviera. Confirmed for 2024 with the new generation and renewed staff. Good cuisine and young, professional service. Adequate, tasteful background music (Sade, what can I say...)

The owner (in the picture) is awesome! we don’t speak Italian but he did his best to communicate with us. And the menu we ordered was out of the menu that time but he managed it for us!!! It was so nice to see his welcoming and efforts to make our dinner for the best 🥰 appreciate 🙏 We will go to see you again and enjoy your food Ciao 👋

26/07/2025: Amazing shop, very delicious dishes and impeccable service! Because I'm pregnant, he made his dishes at that time without salt and he also treated us to tiramisu. The flavors are divine, try the Tuscan soup. He makes it excellent. Very good prices, very delicious and the owner is very smiling. Everything is wonderful!!!

21/07/2025: I can't recommend the pizza 🍕. It tasted like pasta. The Parma bruschetta was delicious, as was the white wine. The staff was very friendly.
