13/08/2026: We've been there a couple of times for aperitivo, at different times of the day and at different times. The appetizers are minimal and the cocktails are good. The staff is friendly and, when it's not crowded, quite quick and attentive. When they're not hosting events or parties, the place is practically empty. If you're looking for privacy, it's perfect; if you're looking for a sociable atmosphere, you should only go when they're hosting something.

02/08/2026: On a hot summer day, we wanted to have an aperitivo. We wanted something different, and we were impressed by this little place. It was a different kind of aperitivo, always with the same pizzas, cocktails, and a served buffet. The buffet was very good, even including figs and watermelon, and even a whole cacciatorino, all beautifully arranged on a long white plate. You could also choose from a platter of cured meats and cheeses. The cocktails were fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly. We'll definitely be back if we ever return to Pavia!

05/08/2026: I was here for dinner with friends. I have two major complaints about this place. How can you not have air conditioning in the hottest city in Italy? Eating becomes a tiring chore, no longer a pleasure. 2 This is a tapas restaurant, which means lots of small dishes, all laid out on a nearly 30x30cm table?!?!?! It feels like eating on an airplane playing Tetris, since half the table is already taken up by the cover charge and bottles of water and wine. It's a shame because the place is really nice and deserves a nice evening with friends, but these "" ...

27/07/2026: Maybe our expectations were too high... Nothing to complain about the location because it's lakefront. We waited 20 minutes to order, but no big deal, we enjoyed the view. We ordered two pizzas, and from Neapolitans, I expected the best, but instead, the rising process wasn't very good, and even the mozzarella (I ordered buffalo mozzarella) lost all its flavor after being cooked. The biggest disappointment was the Neapolitan pastiera... No crust or flavor... It's a shame, I'll try it again in the off-season. Another sore point is the way "foreign" waiters are treated by the rest of the staff. It's a shame, sometimes the little details make all the difference. Not to mention the lady at the cash register, where it would be nice to find someone welcoming when paying...

17/07/2026: We stayed at the B&B located directly above the restaurant, accessible from the same square. The host recommended we stop here for lunch. For lunch, we enjoyed the daily menu, which offered three starters and three main courses, plus a side dish and water at a reasonable price—perfect for workers on their lunch break. For dinner, we ordered a platter and a pizza with Campania specialties. The proximity to the bus stop for line 13 is excellent. We'll definitely be back when we return to Gussago.

25/05/2026: Calzone top al Boccaccio! Questo calzone mi ha proprio stupito. Arrivato al tavolo fumante, con una crosta bella gonfia e bruciacchiata al punto giusto, da forno a legna vero. Dentro filante e condito bene, pomodoro saporito e non acquoso. Porzione generosa: io ho faticato a finirlo. Impasto leggero, digerito benissimo. Servizio veloce and personale gentile as always. Se passate da al Boccaccio, ordinatelo senza pensarci. Español: ¡Calzone top en al Boccaccio! This calzone really surprised me. Llegó a la mesa humeante, con una corteza bien inflada y tostada en su punto justo, de authentic horno de leña. Por dentro, fondente y bien condimentado, tomate sabroso y nada aguado. Portion generosa: me costó acabármelo. Masa ligera, me sentó de maravilla. Rapid service and friendly staff as always. Si pasáis por al Boccaccio, pedidlo sin pensarlo. English: Top calzone at al Boccaccio! This calzone really surprised me. It arrived at the table steaming hot, with a crust nicely puffed and charred just right, from a real wood-fired oven. Inside juicy and well-seasoned, tomato tasty and not at all watery. Large portion: I had a hard time finishing it. Light dough, very easy to digest. Fast service and polite staff as always. If you pass by al Boccaccio, order it without a second thought.

25/06/2026: What a lovely Tea Garden. Beautifully situated and we were helped in a super friendly manner by Vincent. Thanks for that. The soup is definitely worth trying. The tea was also tasty. We also had a toasted sandwich and a beer. Gulpener beer from Limburg. All very delicious.

24/07/2026: The burger was delicious, the fries were good too, the service was very friendly, and the food arrived very quickly. Prices are debatable. €15 for chicken nuggets and fries isn't exactly reasonable. The burger cost €21, but it was very tasty and came with fries. The drinks were very good and large.

05/04/2026: The 4.5 rating appears to be from the previous diner. We visited the restaurant to try the classic dishes on the menu. Lured by the inviting ambiance with its beautiful white tablecloths, we had high expectations. The fact that there were only a few guests at the time initially led us to attribute it to the higher price point – however, in retrospect, this suggests other explanations. The dishes in retrospect: • Vitello Tonnato: A very minimalist approach was taken here. The meat was the absolute focus and had a very firm texture. Since the sauce was used very sparingly, the meat's natural flavor remained completely pure and dry. • Caesar Salad: A dish for those who like it rustic. The meat topping was remarkably firm and offered extreme resistance when chewing – definitely a departure from the usual succulence. • Spaghetti Carbonara: This variation was very meat-heavy. The sausage component was so dominant that the pasta and the actual sauce were almost completely overshadowed. Unfortunately, the dish lacked any balance from a technical standpoint, as the excessive seasoning completely stifled any hint of Italian lightness. A very unusual experience that, sadly, failed to impress. In conclusion: The kitchen here takes a very unique approach to textures, intense seasoning, and the proportions of ingredients. For lovers of classic, succulent Italian cuisine, however, this presents a challenge. We've had the experience once and will leave it at that. Fortunately, we found a fantastic restaurant just a short distance away in town that completely satisfied our culinary desires – we immediately made a reservation for our second evening there.

18/03/2026: The Risorgimento restaurant in Sirmione no longer exists. It has changed ownership and its name. Now, that place is a tourist restaurant like so many others.

11/01/2026: Epic fail. Eating bad pasta in an Italian restaurant in Italy feels either like a "sin" or in this case a very deliberate choice. And I think it was deliberate because we felt something off since the first moment: the place was almost empty, all tourists and us and we were with friends from abroad. This is what happened. As an Italian living abroad and coming back for Christmas, I had one simple wish: a good pasta. Nothing fancy, nothing experimental. Just pasta. The pasta was bland. In Italy? Come on. Everything else followed suit, just as some other reviews have already noted. We confirm. It’s like they make it on purpose. The fish arrived still partially frozen, other dishes lacked salt, and the sauces tasted spoiled. Every course felt off. We appreciated the warm bread and the bruschetta (nice touch), but it only highlighted the poor quality of the dishes. With a bill over €40 per person (wine excluded), we can’t just stay silent... And I still can’t understand how something so basic can turn out so insipid in Italy. From the first minute, we had the feeling that, because we ordered “only” three dishes — even though they were among the most expensive on the menu — it was assumed we wouldn’t spend much. From then on, the care seemed to defrost at the same speed as the fish. The pressure to upsell and the subtle reactions about the fish of the day (off-menu prices) gave us a warning vibe. So we limited our order to avoid surprises, being almost the only customers that night, caught in a push to sell — not a good feeling in a fish restaurant. After that, the courses were so incredibly off that we skipped coffee and dessert and just wanted to go home. Either the many positive reviews come from non-Italian diners who have never had proper pasta, or we were exceptionally unlucky, or the restaurant just didn’t fancy us. When every dish shows the same issues (poorly defrosted fish, no seasoning, and off flavors) it’s hard to call it bad luck though. One starts calling it a pattern or something else... The staff was polite, and I write this with a smile, not anger. But mistakes this consistent across all courses are impossible to ignore. We endured the half-hearted (and half-defrosted) appetizer, but the main courses left us at a loss for words. A deeply disappointing and, honestly, sa experience because we love these kind of restaurants, and since we are your neighbors (though you might have thought we were tourists) we thought we would go back. Considering the inexplicable 4.3 rating, we felt safe… until the first bite. Epic fail. And if it’s because we were not welcomed: well, at least now we know… message received.

23/12/2025: Very bad restaurant ! Run away. We took a fried steak for 25euros without any salad or fries, then fries were extra for 7euros. Sea food pasta were also without shrimps and enough sea food and it’s a expensive for the quality ! There is a near restaurant called THE KITCHEN which is not far from that one with excellent prices ! Very very very bad experience and the smell is so bad in the restaurant.

14/02/2026: What a scandal! I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, and the place is permanently closed, with three strikes. A romantic evening ruined!
