We stayed at the family run Albergo Il Vapore for 2 nights and the hospitality we had from Pinuccia and Simone was second to none. The evening dinner at the restaurant we had was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row! The fresh pasta and fish dishes were deliciously prepared by the chef Simone.... make sure to book if eating here as its very popular! Highly recommended!

Had the absolute best lunch here with my wife during our time in Lake Como. Albergo Il Vapore is everything you hope to find in Italy — authentic, family-run, warm, and completely unforgettable. The setting in the heart of Menaggio is beautiful, but it’s the atmosphere and homemade food that truly make this place special. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine care and tradition. Fresh pasta, incredible flavors, simple ingredients done perfectly — the kind of meal that reminds you why Italian cuisine is loved around the world. You can feel the passion in every plate. The service was equally wonderful: welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely kind, making us feel more like guests in someone’s home than customers at a restaurant. What we loved most was how authentic everything felt. No tourist traps, no unnecessary fuss — just outstanding food, a charming atmosphere, and a memorable experience shared together. Easily one of the highlights of our entire trip and without question the best lunch we had in Italy. If you’re visiting Menaggio, do yourself a favor and eat here. We’ll be talking about this meal for a very long time.

This review pertains to the restaurant. We felt very comfortable there. It's clearly family-run – the friendly lady provided excellent service. My salmon trout fillet with spinach was fresh and delicious; there were a few small bones, but that wasn't a problem. The tiramisu was wonderful!

This restaurant was incredible!!! My husband and I both enjoyed two different spicy pastas. My son was able to get butter with pasta. The service was excellent and exactly what we wanted!
