17/04/2026: Every time we go downtown, we eat at Melarancio, where we can find top-notch traditional Roman dishes that aren't ordinary, but they're also GLUTEN-FREE, which is fantastic for us because my eldest daughter and I are allergic, and they, especially Nico, are particularly attentive. Thanks again, and as always, we'll be back!

06/05/2026: We went to inquire about a reservation. There was a young woman at the reception desk, and she was quite kind and helpful. When we asked her for help with their website, a woman came out from the back office, yelling that she was too busy, so busy she couldn't waste even a second on their aristocratic website. Kudos to you for your elitist attitude. And thank you so much for your gratuitous arrogance and lack of professionalism. Wonderful experience! 👍👍👍 Edited: How absurd! The owner basically doesn't understand the situation at all and is complaining to me! First of all, NO PERSON gave us Wi-Fi, and what do you mean he "walked them to the lobby"? We're the ones coming to you, not you coming to visit us! 🤣🤣🙏🙏 Also, I'm saying that it's THE SECOND PERSON who suddenly left, claiming to be very busy (despite zero people asking to speak to her, who knows why she left) NOT THE FIRST GIRL! In fact, in the end, THE FIRST GIRL helped us! ZERO PERSON is saying that THE FIRST GIRL had nothing to do! Could you stop making up the fairy tale? Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏🙏

29/07/2025: Wonderful visit to Ristorante Cecilia Metella! Family friendly, family run, and homemade family quality. We highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant if you’re in the area, or walk across from the Catacombs di San Sebastien. Cross the road, head to right and up the driveway. The staff were super friendly and fun. I felt like my grandpa was serving us, with his grandpa humour. Couldn’t stop laughing at his grandpa jokes. The food was amazing. I feel like this was my most authentic Italian pasta and cuisine during our stay at Rome. We ate outside on the their terrace. There were lots of tables and couod get quite busy. However, our visit was just right in terms of noise from other tables. No need to shout, but still enjoyed the energy of the restaurant with families and friends enjoying lunch out on a Sunday.

23/07/2025: Amazing lunch experience under the vines. Meals and wine were superb, service was first class and atmosphere was next level fabulous. Really enjoyed. Highly recommend.

12/04/2026: We booked just before Sunday lunch: they greeted us with a smile and kindness. The seafood was fresh and the atmosphere was clean. The spaghetti with lupini beans and pistachio pesto was a must-try.

07/02/2026: We waited 40 minutes for fried calamari. It was not crowded, there were only two other tables and they were at the end of their meals too. Also I counted, there were 15 pieces of pasta in my plate, TOTAL. So 1 euro for a piece of pasta lol. Small portions, pricey, waited too long. Also we were seated at a table that is connected to another table and that was dirty. Everybody was sitting around so I don't know why it couldn't be cleaned

06/05/2026: Seafood-based cuisine, generous appetizers of decent quality. Good value. For a casual lunch, it's perfect; if you're fussy, there are other good options nearby.

21/03/2026: The food was good, but the waiters weren't very friendly or welcoming. They seemed nicer to the Italians.

18/04/2026: We went for a family lunch, and the start was promising: the bruschetta appetizer was simple but good. Problems arose with the first courses. We'd ordered gnocchi and fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, but within two minutes, the dishes were already on the table, a clear sign they hadn't been freshly stirred. The fettuccine was dry, completely unrelated to the sauce, and floating in a transparent oil that resembled pomace or seed oil rather than extra virgin olive oil. The gnocchi, unfortunately, were in exactly the same state. Everything was presented as homemade pasta, but the quality and preparation told a completely different story. Overall, a truly disappointing experience, especially considering that a basic cooking skill would be enough to achieve a decent result.

05/04/2026: A mountain hut-style restaurant with spacious interiors and a family-friendly, homey atmosphere typical of the area. Friendly service, but understaffed for the number of seats. Moderate diner-style prices... but relative to the small portions. The first courses aren't their strong point, especially the seasonings; the second courses are of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. Overall, I'd say if you want to spend little and eat out, it's fine, even if you want a light meal. However, if you're still hungry when you leave, there's MC a few kilometers away.

14/02/2026: Service made multiple mistakes leading to a long waiting time and average food which had to be recooked as a result of the mistakes. Didn’t even take the coffee off the bill at the end as an act of courtesy.

12/04/2026: A REAL DISCOVERY! A welcoming place, with a pleasant and refined atmosphere. The food is truly exquisite; you can taste the quality of the fish and the care taken in preparing the dishes. Special thanks to the owner, Marcello, a truly kind and helpful man who knows how to make guests feel at home. The staff was also impeccable: friendly, courteous, and always attentive. If you're in Ostia, you absolutely must eat here... you won't regret it!

05/04/2026: We ate at this restaurant for Easter lunch. It's a very welcoming place with a lovely open kitchen. The menu was varied and the dishes were really good, all at a more than reasonable fixed price. The service was also excellent and very warm. 🥰 Thank you!

28/04/2026: I'm sorry to see that a cockroach was in the salad I ordered. It was a decidedly unpleasant and intolerable experience, which completely ruined my meal and my trust in the restaurant. I hope serious measures are taken to ensure adequate hygiene standards.
