Osvaldo is an impeccable host: welcoming, passionate and always ready to recommend the best. Excellent value for money. I will definitely be back!

07/02/2025: Hier konnten wir moderne italienische Küche geniessen. Bekannte Rezepte neu interpretiert. Die kleine Karte ist sympatisch, die Bedienung ebenfalls, die Weine sehr fein. Wir waren das letzte mal vor über 8 Jahren da und es lohnt sich noch immer - ist ja nicht selbstverständlich, dass sich ein Lokal auf so mancher Ebene halten kann! immer gerne wieder, einfach super! Gracie!!!

We saw some negative reviews of the service so wanted to share our good experience. The food was also excellent, and the veal fillet was very generous with a tasty sauce. Great meal all around!

12/04/2025: Honestly, disappointed. Went for a quick breakfast before a tour but food was not great. Eggs Benedict was actually eggs florentine and was cold: bread was not toasted and hollandaise was bland. Croque Madame also not toasted and egg was undercooked. Coffee was ok but not worth the €53 paid.

01/03/2025: Hidden gem where the local Italians come. 120% kitschy inferiors. The food is fantastic (pasta served on a hot pan, fresh fish, lemon sorbet with prosecco...) and the prices are reasonable.

28/02/2025: Ancient Roman atmosphere, delicious cuisine with well-filled plates, really good service with the waiter dressed as an ancient Roman. Not expensive at all, 10€ the pasta which is really the best I tasted during my stay in Italy

28/10/2024: Siamo stati colpiti subito dal cartello all’esterno! Locale piccolo e accogliente, abbiamo mangiato all’esterno dato la splendida giornata di sole. Personale gentilissimo, anche con la nostra cagnolina sono stati un tesoro! Il cibo? Squisito😍 e lo spezzatino si scioglie veramente in bocca!! Consiglio vivamente a chi cerca una cucina ottima e tipica! Grazie!!

11/09/2024: Dopo una bella passeggiata nel bosco arriviamo a Calcata. Siamo 2 famiglie con figli e abbiamo prenotato in questo ristorante. Giungiamo e ci accomodiamo dentro. Locale piccolino ma molto caratteristico, come il simpatico ristoratore che ci chiarisce subito la filosofia Km Zero del locale. Prendiamo tagliere di affettati e formaggi veramente locali e particolari. Ottimissimi i fagioli su crostini di pane. Poi carbonara, gricia, cacio e pepe; tutte buone anche se per qualcuno di noi un po' troppo ricche di pecorino (io le ho assaggiate tutte e mi sono piaciute....davvero un buon pecorino). Grigliata mista, speziata con finocchietto selvatico e ben cotta. Spettacolare anche se mangiato per golosità perchè eravamo ormai veramente sazi lo "spezzatino medievale" manzo, molto tenero aromatizzato con zenzero, chiodi di garofano, carota sedano e cipolla, per me davvero TOP. La cicoria se devo dire un po' troppo amara, ma comunque di zona. Ogni portata e ogni ingrediente viene dettagliatamente illustrato dal cuoco, in particolare nell'origine dei cibi. Servizio tranquillo, von i giusti tempi di un pranzo a Calcata e di una cucina espressa. Io lo consiglio davvero tanto, cucina con un briciolo di rivisitazione, ma molto tradizionale e legatissima ai prodotti del territorio. Prezzi onesti.

29/03/2025: Pizzeria refuge for when I want to spend a quiet evening. A well-known place and therefore sometimes crowded. Luckily they have several rooms, one even outdoors. Everything that comes out is good and well prepared, without particular research or sophisticated combinations. It's the place where you put the flavors on autopilot and enjoy the evening with family, friends etc... Punctual service but which reflects the atmosphere of the taverns, those where you feel at home. Roman-style pizzeria, low, crunchy and light, and this for me is a +!!! Absolutely interesting prices and even more in terms of value for money! If you are in the area and want to go without fail, eat well, relax, well all you have to do is book.

23/03/2025: I will recommend staying away from this Cafe as it is an absolute ripoff. They would charge you 10€ for an alleged „breakfast“, where you will get a croissant, a cappuccino and a juice. At the beginning, they will suggest that you will get a croissant and a sandwich and then they will tell you it‘s either or. I would absolutely not recommend!

31/03/2025: This pizzeria was recommended to us at the hotel. We had an excellent meal there every evening. The pizza was first class, as were the meat dishes, and the wine was also good. Beer is incredibly expensive! We usually had to pay for the bread that was served with it, even if we didn't order any. Overall, the prices were okay. The back area of ​​the restaurant is a little more comfortable than the entrance area, where the atmosphere is more sober. The same waiter was in different moods on different days, sometimes very nice, sometimes a bit monosyllabic. Overall, we were very satisfied and can highly recommend the pizzeria.

01/04/2025: Overpriced. Paid 30 euros (about 60 CAD) for water, service charge, pasta (which had 7 noodles) and focaccia. Good service. Mediocre food. Some of the noodles were dry, which makes me think that the pasta wasn’t fresh, which is a shame since you would expect fresh in Rome. Nothing extraordinary - definitely not worth 30 euros

Regardless of how much I liked the food I ordered and which was not pleasant due to the exorbitant use of oil, what was incredibly annoying was the total rudeness and lack of professionalism of the management, not of the employees. Even more absurd considering the historicity of the place. A professional should know how to handle a polite dissatisfaction from a customer without slamming the doors on customers or allowing the chef to shout from the kitchen. an uneaten dish was added to the bill, hence the owner's very kind reaction to our doubts. for the food I took a souté dipped in oil, which I struggled to digest for the next 2 hours, but I recognize that the octopus tasted by another diner was good. I'm correct. The problem is sometimes not just the food, but the experience the customer is given and how one carries out one's profession. Non-historic "older" restaurant and value for money we are not there. with a receipt of that kind per person there are places in Fiumicino and Rome where you can eat heavenly crudités, not 4 mangy ones. friendliness

23/03/2025: Zi Pina – Tradition and quality in Fiumicino ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Historic restaurant in the area, now run by the third generation. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, with attentive and familiar service. Excellent selection of seafood appetizers: fresh, well presented and with interesting combinations, such as the fish carpaccio with orange and pomegranate. The fried calamari and prawns are really well done: crunchy, light and dry. A classic dish, but executed to perfection. The owner is present in the room, attentive to each table. The prices are slightly above average, but in line with the quality and experience offered. Recommended for those looking for authentic and refined seafood cuisine, with a touch of tradition.
