23/02/2025: We found ourselves by chance, wandering around the alleys of Matera, 3 couples of friends, food of excellent quality and quantity, we shared appetizers, had a super abundant first course that left no room for anything else, very attentive staff, I highly recommend it!

16/03/2025: We spent three wonderful days in this farmhouse surrounded by nature. Piera and her entire family welcomed us with kindness and made us feel at home. The children spent the days immersed in nature in contact with wonderful animals, the most appreciated donkeys. They also appreciated the play area dedicated to them, with swings, slides and much more. Salvatore, the chef, delighted us with exquisite dishes made with fresh, local products. The room was comfortable and clean. A relaxing environment for the whole family, a wonderful experience.
13/03/2025: Family-run farm, where you feel at home. Fast and attentive service. High quality of the products used, organic and Km. 0: eggs, vegetables, strawberries, pears, kiwis, oranges... Close to the sea, but immersed in the countryside and with farmyard animals, adored by children. Play area for the little ones and garden to stay in. Impossible not to take home their organic products: oil, sauce, jams and marmalades. Try it!

10/02/2025: Siamo entrati in questo locale e ci siamo accorti sin da subito che l’unica cosa che mancava era il mare cristallino della Grecia . L’atmosfera , i sapori , i profumi la ricordano completamente . Proprietari deliziosi che mettono tanto amore e passione per il lavoro che fanno e i risultati seguono . Piatti eccellenti ed abbondanti . Abbiamo preso una carrellata di antipasti ( la moussakà deliziosa ) e bevuto buon vino , il tutto accompagnato da musica tradizionale . Prezzi onesti . Bravi !

05/04/2025: Sono andato in gita con i miei compagni di classe. Il menù era il semplice: pennette al sugo con cotoletta e patatine. Le pennette erano mangiabili, le cotolette avevano un sapore strano e le patatine erano bruciate.

31/03/2025: A Matera per un weekend con amici abbiamo trovato i sapori locali che cercavamo, un classico piatto locale, pecora cotta in un tegame di terracotta dall’ottimo sapore e tenerissima e la seconda serata con maialino e cardoncelli Ottimi piatti accompagnati da un ottimo rosso aglianico
30/03/2025: On a visit to Matera, it was recommended to us by our hotelier, praising the excellent quality, quantity and price ratio. He advised us to order the appetizers because it offered the opportunity to taste all the typical products and that given the abundance of the dish to wait to order the first courses. We did not find all this abundance, the cost is € 18 but what was served to us was of the highest quality.

15/04/2025: Went on a Sunday evening, it was me and my wife. We ate really well, the menu is full of local recipes prepared respecting the originality of the dish. The place is beautiful, it feels like going back in time. The friendliness and friendliness of the management completes the work. Prices are not exaggerated, it's worth going.

20/04/2025: They allow people to enter with their dogs. During the entire stay one dog was barking and sitting at the table on the owner's lap. The other dog was sitting next to us. With a lot of noise due to loudly talking customers the constant barking was unbearable. None of the staff reacted to this dog or its owners.
17/04/2025: We were at a hotel right next door and found it very good! The friendly boss speaks a little French, the cod dishes are very good and the meat is good, the homemade chips are excellent On the other hand, booked or arrive early, it’s not great!

26/02/2025: There is something paradoxical in crossing half the peninsula to find yourself, gastronomically speaking, exactly where you started (Milan). Let me explain. The restaurant in question, nestled among the rocks of Matera, offers an experience that I could define as technically flawless. The service moves with the precision of a ballet, anticipating every need with that non-invasive grace that is the true hallmark of professionalism. The venue is simply very beautiful. And then comes the food. To say. Caciocavallo – that cheese that tells of centuries of transhumance and dairy wisdom – appears transformed into a flan with an impeccable consistency. A preparation that could appear in any avant-garde bistro in Brera or Isola in Milan. Cruschi peppers – those crunchy wonders that represent the dry, vibrant soul of Basilicata – have been reduced to a kind of powder, a decorative accent that seems more interested in conquering Instagram than the palate. Lucanian cuisine has a precise grammar and a robust syntax that does not require conceptual quotation marks or gastronomic parentheses. Yet here in every dish it seems that the original identity is something to be hidden under layers of technique and presentation. Why? It's not that you eat badly, far from it. Eat well. Too good. With that aseptic perfection that could place you in any corner of contemporary gastronomic geography, but not necessarily in Matera. Gourmet cuisine, with its obsession with revisiting, sometimes seems to forget that originality is not necessarily proportional to the distance one takes from the original. Sometimes, true audacity lies in respecting the essential and following tradition.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
25/02/2025: C'è qualcosa di paradossale nell'attraversare mezza penisola per ritrovarsi, gastronomicamente parlando, esattamente dove si è partiti (Milano). Mi spiego. Il ristorante in questione, incastonato tra i sassi di Matera, offre un'esperienza che potrei definire tecnicamente ineccepibile. Il servizio si muove con la precisione di un balletto, anticipando ogni necessità con quella grazia non invasiva che è la vera cifra della professionalità. Il locale è semplicemente molto bello. E poi arriva il cibo. Per dire. Il caciocavallo – quel formaggio che racconta secoli di transumanza e saggezza casearia – compare trasformato in un flan dalla consistenza impeccabile. Una preparazione che potrebbe figurare in qualsiasi bistrot all'avanguardia di Brera o Isola a Milano. I peperoni cruschi – quelle meraviglie croccanti che rappresentano l'anima secca e vibrante della Basilicata – sono stati ridotti a una specie di polvere, un accento decorativo che sembra più interessato a conquistare Instagram che il palato. La cucina lucana possiede una grammatica precisa e una sintassi robusta che non necessita di virgolette concettuali o di parentesi gastronomiche. Eppure qui in ogni piatto sembra che l’identità originaria sia qualcosa da nascondere sotto strati di tecnica e presentazione. Perché? Non è che mangi male, tutt'altro. Mangi bene. Troppo bene. Con quella perfezione asettica che potrebbe collocarti in qualsiasi angolo della geografia gastronomica contemporanea, ma non necessariamente a Matera. La cucina gourmet, con la sua ossessione per la rivisitazione, sembra talvolta dimenticare che l'originalità non è necessariamente proporzionale alla distanza che si prende dall'originale. A volte, la vera audacia sta nel rispetto dell'essenziale e nel seguire la tradizione.

01/04/2025: BLUF: Amazing space, great food, and wonderful service by Michele. This was a great experience we stumbled into. It is a unique setting inside a cave and has some really cool sections for parties or just lounging. They have a dance hall and extra space in a historic cistern. We lucked out with having Michele as our waiter. He was incredibly gracious and patient with us. He even gave us a private tour of the cistern (prob didn’t hurt that we came at the American dinner time so it wasn’t too busy yet). Regardless, he worked through my broken Italian and ordered two pizzas and two glasses of wine. For someone who lives in Italy and has had many house wines, this was one of the best I’ve ever had. And €4/glass is hard to beat. Small issue in communication regarding the meal but Michele acknowledged the mistake and offered to make it right. Finally, after dinner, he showed both of our children how to make a boat and a peacock out of a napkin. We got dinner and a show. I would absolutely go back and would highly recommend this place for a special event. It is one of the most unique restaurants I’ve seen in over a year and a half of traveling not just Italy, but all of Europe as well.
