27/04/2025: Villa Romana is a historic tavern on the hills of Ancona overlooking the sea: this year it "turns 100 years old"💯🥳🎂 the menu has been the same ever since, with few innovations which allows you to be on the safe side. For example, we recommend: appetizer with hand-cut ham; duck gnocchi, tagliatelle and triangles as first courses; fried as second courses. The grilled meat seems a little small. One thing not to be missed under any circumstances is the homemade trifle. Always found a dignified place (also for Confirmations and Communions for example) both inside and outside on the veranda, with a decent quality/price ratio, not stellar but... tradition must be valued 💯💯💯

07/04/2025: Showed up having read the opening hours for the previous day, the owner told me she was closed but she made us food to go anyways! Food was delicious and the owner was very friendly!

28/05/2025: We stopped by at closing time, while they were cleaning. Very kind, they accepted us anyway and prepared a table. I had a lasagna on the chef's advice and I have to say that it really "rocked" as he told me: delicious! One of the best I've eaten in recent years, creamy, tasty, and pleasant. I highly recommend it. !

24/05/2025: UPDATE 05/24/2025: After 8 years from my first review, this place has become even better. The menu is even larger, and now also includes some Mexican dishes. For drinks they have changed the formula, and now there is the "free refill": basically you pay for a drink only once, and then you can refill your glass as many times as you want at the drinks dispenser. The sandwiches are always substantial and very tasty, and every now and then you can find some more particular ones off the menu (like the peanut butter burger I had last time). There are both beef and chicken sandwiches. In addition to sandwiches there is also no shortage of appetizers, grilled meat, the Mexican dishes I mentioned before, salads and desserts. The problem of the somewhat long waiting times remains, but with a little patience everything arrives. The prices have remained practically the same as before, with the difference that, if at the time they were a bit high, now we can say that they are average (considering the general increase in prices in recent years). Highly recommended for group dinners with friends! Only note, VERY IMPORTANT: I ​​strongly recommend avoiding this place during the 10 days of the Summer Jamboree festival. This festival has a "50s America" ​​theme, and every year attracts about 400,000 people from all over Europe. The truffle in particular is the attraction and highlight in this restaurant!! But the decoration and furnishings are also fantastic! Junk and vintage thrown together with love. 05/05/2025: As a Calabrian in Senigallia for work I can say that it is a really nice, welcoming place with friendly and nice staff. The first day I stopped for a quick aperitif, the second day I returned and had a wonderful dinner with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent background music. Abundant servings and excellent quality at very honest prices. I will definitely return. Highly recommended

06/05/2025: I went on the evening of mid-August with my boyfriend, the cherry smoked mackerel is absolutely worth trying (for that alone it's worth the trip). Truly exceptional, the tiramisu foam is equally good, worth 10. Very friendly welcome and a clean and welcoming environment, even the bathrooms. Advise!

30/04/2025: Everything excellent!!!! Very friendly staff and welcoming place. Small gem, a small tray is served with different types of bread to taste together with a little oil... which is nice and original!!

01/06/2025: Mi era stato consigliato vivamente ed io, con sincerità, giudico deludente la mia esperienza. Mai mangiato una tagliatella allo scoglio così insignificante, scondita, e soprattutto priva di pesce. L'ho fatto notare ma mi hanno risposto che secondo la cucina era tutto nella norma. Discreta, ma non speciale, la grigliata. Fortuna che i ristoranti sono tanti, guardate altrove.

22/05/2025: Terrible experience, not fresh fish, slow service. 80's style appetizers, where you fill the plates with sauces and vegetables reducing the raw material to a minimum, soft fried food not crispy, and tasteless. We entered at 12:20 and asked for the plates after an hour.

02/02/2025: Locale intimo e gradevole. Si può andare per un normale pasto o aperitivo. Bella scelta di vini che però non abbiamo potuto apprezzare, essendo un gruppo di astemi. Il locale è perfetto per andarci con amici e offre buone pietanze per tutti i gusti. Buon servizio. Piccolo difetto: bagno unico per uomini e donne e dirimpetto alle cucine.

The cuisine, although repetitive, is good and genuine. Excellent breakfast, varied and natural. Well maintained swimming pool with beautiful views.

13/05/2025: Much Improvable! Summarized in a few words the service provided for a first communion. It starts with errors with table position... then forgotten seats... appetizers different from those agreed upon... good and abundant first courses... good second courses on trays on the table but with very disappointing portions (a sausage... a rib... capocollo... skewer... steak, liver and little more for 3/4 people). The waiters came by to ask if anyone wanted anything but out of shame for asking for something the guests stalled and the waiters in a hurry to get off the service started to take away. Furthermore, instead of starting to serve the birthday boy and another child present, they left them almost until last. To conclude, despite the agreements made and confirmed, we did not receive the requested cake. They tried to patch it up with a totally different one in flavor/size from our request (if they couldn't provide it, they just had to say so right away). Luckily we had a second cake! Hotel toilets where we were to be serviced. If you want to do multiple events at the same time on the same day, the owners/management should train their staff better and organize themselves better.
