29/10/2024: Vintage Ambience – Excellent Cuisine Last Sunday I tried the cuisine of Antica Cascina Zappa in the company of relatives. The restaurant was created inside an old farmhouse, in Vedano al Lambro, not far from the Monza racetrack. The location is not easily accessible as it is located in an oasis of tranquility far from city traffic, between the San Gerardo Hospital and some branches of the Bicocca University of Milan. Originally established as a tavern, over time the restaurant has extended its culinary horizons, so in addition to the classic recipes of traditional Lombard cuisine, it offers tasty and refined meat and fish dishes, produced with fresh, top-quality ingredients. There were four of us and we opted for fish dishes, well cooked, with particular reference to Sicilian cuisine. Animated by the spirit of the owners, the restaurant has a slightly dated, old-fashioned environment, but the quality of the dishes was excellent. We opted for traditional appetizers, from octopus with potatoes, to mussels in stew and Sicilian mixed seafood appetizer (shrimps, swordfish, octopus). While as second courses we appreciated Catalan-style prawns, swordfish rolls with salmoriglio, swordfish Messina style and baked sea bass with potatoes. Beyond the somewhat long waiting times (keep in mind that it was the Sunday transition from Summer Time to Winter Time, so most of the customers arrived before one, and the room was full), all the dishes of fish tasted were excellent, both in preparation and quality. The lunch ended with a round of desserts, while during the same lunch a half liter of sparkling white wine in a carafe was appreciated. Adequate prices, just over 80 euros per couple, in the quality/price ratio; Average portions, not abundant. I would like to point out the presence of a large outdoor car park. The Antica Cascina Zappa is worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

14/01/2025: Warning: this review may be addictive (just like their food)! If you are looking for the classic little place where "you eat well, but...", this is NOT for you. Here you eat like heaven, period. And no, I'm not biased just because the owners now know me better than my GP (even if they see me more often, in fact). The magic formula? Dishes that make you forget all your diet plans, service so fast that Flash is a snail in comparison, and prices that won't make you cry over the bill (you'll only shed tears of joy while eating). ATTENTION: if you want to enjoy this gastronomic paradise in peace, avoid showing up after 1.30pm. At that time the place transforms into a kind of culinary conference where everyone talks, eats, gesticulates and enjoys life with such contagious enthusiasm that even the walls seem to vibrate. Not that it's a problem, eh - just that you might have to shout “YUMMY!” a little louder than usual. PS: if after reading this review you aren't already in the car heading here, well, I don't know what to tell you anymore. In the meantime, I will already be at my usual table, enjoying my daily lunch like a king (or queen, you name it) at a commonplace price.

10/12/2024: I would like to give 0 stars but unfortunately I can't. Really rude staff, not welcoming, not available. Zero elasticity, they were unable to accommodate my intolerances and even treated me badly by calling me sick. Really ridiculous, avoid going!!

18/10/2024: The pastry shop is a true corner of paradise for sweets lovers! Every time I walk in the door, I'm greeted by an irresistible scent of vanilla and chocolate that fills the air. The variety of desserts available is simply extraordinary: from artistic cakes to fragrant biscuits, each creation is a joy for the eyes and the palate. The quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite. The cakes are soft and moist, the pastries are light and delicate, and the chocolate pralines are an absolute dream. 28/09/2024: I have been using this pastry shop for years and for me it is the best. I have tried many, many, but I have hardly found the freshness I experience in this pastry shop elsewhere. The owners are very nice, friendly and super professional. Super highly recommended.

27/11/2024: Excellent dinner but very little attention to the customer and his dignity. At the moment we were eating dessert, a homosexual couple with a super-behaved dog entered the restaurant and were seated on the other side of the room where we were having dinner. A customer behind us started saying out loud: “I want those AUNTS away from me. I don't eat near dogs. Have that table disinfected for the next time I come” What's happening? The couple of guys leave without having dinner, offended but politely explaining that they had gone out to relax and not be insulted. The customer who had offended them, however, remains comfortably seated in his seat and the owner gives him a "lecture" that convinces no one. Moral: tonight you lost 4 customers, not 2. And the other diners present shared our opinion. Before profit, there are people.

19/12/2024: Given that I went because I had read some good reviews but perhaps they were fake, the worst place I have eaten so far at the fixed price they said was 12 and then it was 12.90 that is 13 but let's overlook a pumpkin risotto with chopped pumpkin no absolutely the yellow pumpkin must be boiled and pureed and added as if it were saffron at the end but the discomfort came with the second courses courgette parmigiana inedible with a crust hard on top, barely warmed up and boiled carrots cold as well as the place (but turn on these radiators) escalopes with mushrooms hard and lukewarm with the fries the same as those at McDonald's are better) final coffee passable always lukewarm the only good thing is the bread and with this I said everything never again but how can these people write excellent reviews but where do they eat?
