The manager, however, was lovely and apologetic. Unfortunately, he wasn't our waiter. 😠
Small portions of wine and food for the price, but the pour of bourbon and ice was very generous. My husband sent back his clams with linguine because it was too salty and ordered the spaghetti, which was very tasty.
Too many lovely options around to want to return.

05/05/2025: Per una pausa pranzo veloce e’ il posto ideale. Abbiamo assaggiato gnocchi alla zucca, gnocchi verdi e pasta al ragù, tutto molto buono e personale molto gentile.
Ottimo posto da consigliare.
29/04/2025: Simplemente deliciosa pasta y ñoquis con salsa. Un montón de elección, pero todo hecho fresco. Delicioso tiramisú casero también.

10/10/2025: Stopped by for a cocktail after our gondola ride with Fabio. Our server Bellal recommended the Expresso Martini and the Italian Mule-both we excellent!! Also given a snack of peanuts and rice puffs with we delicious too.
Glad we stopped by such a cute place and lovely kind people.!!!

22/07/2025: Helt gjennomsiktig turistfelle.. Grei service, maten smakte godt, men entrecôten var 5mm tykk og godt gjennomstekt.
En god entrecôte er 3 fingre tykk, og servere entrecôte under 2 fingre i tykkelse skulle være forbudt.
Det er også helt unødvendig å spørre om du vil ha den medium stekt, når den er 5mm tykk. Den er uansett gjennomstekt når den treffer grillen.
20/07/2025: Sono stata nel 2022 pagato una follia 90€ antipasto due granseole e un filetto di branzino con una bottiglia di acqua naturale. Servizio lento e mal curato.

Maybe he needs rest or has problems but customers don't treat each other that way!!!

UPDATE :
I returned to this place in January because a friend invited me here even though I would never set foot again, this time I had a very good time.
The bartender was very friendly and quick, Hugo was good and the appetizers were good enough.

03/10/2025: We had such a lovely time at Osteria alla Bandiera! The atmosphere is very cosy, the square is sunny, the drinks are good (an olive in the aperol! ❤️)... It really feels like a hidden gem. We went on two different days , and enjoyed each time some Sprite, both ways weten perfect.
The service was quite Okay too!. It’s a beautiful place to sit back, relax, and soak up the Venetian charm. Highly recommend!

17/06/2025: Posto é bellissimo, e soprattutto per chi ci lavora, sorriso sempre stampato, sempre molto educati nonostante il flusso di gente continuo, sempre molto cordiali e vengono incontro a tutti. Soprattutto Lallo il numero uno , la chiara, la Monica Fiore e Radu. Posto super pulito e il bere e il mangiare non deludono mai.

02/08/2025: A renowned restaurant, coinciding with the Santo Stefano Fair, we thought we were on the safe side.
A total disappointment.
2 first courses, 1 mixed fried dish, 1 French fries (served in disposable plastic), 1 dessert (frozen, so you could fold it), 2 glasses of wine and 1 water (we charged 2...).
€85.00...
The owners are the ones who really make a feast.
03/07/2025: Fanio is a historic place, renowned and deserves its fame.
The food is very good, the service punctual and attentive, the environment informal, clean and spacious.
Taxi14 Portogruaro recommends it.

They still serve a good coffee at the bar for €1.30, with friendly staff at the counter. That alone is worth a stop 👍🏼

Meriterebbe la bocciatura ma l'indulgenza nasce dalla bruttezza irreversibile del locale, dalla buona scelta dei vini e dalla griglia
14/07/2025: Finalmente una cucina di quelle che piacciono a me,nata e cresciuta da queste parti e trapiantata a Torino, sincera e senza troppi fronzoli ,in cui la freschezza del pesce e l'abilità nel trattare la materia prima la fanno da padrona. Nota di merito alla grigliata di pesce con anguilla fatta alla brace semplicemente squisita!! Prezzo onestissimo in relazione alla qualità. Personale attento,gentile e simpatico.
Ci tornerò sicuramente la prossima volta che sarò da queste parti.
