19/07/2026: We went to escape the 40°C heat of the plains... a corner of paradise with acceptable temperatures, near the Menotre River... The atmosphere is upscale and modern, the food is quality, the prices are a bit high, but you also pay for the location. The service is excellent, but some details could be improved, like the missing bread basket. I would definitely go back... I recommend it.

12/07/2026: While visiting Rasiglia, I heard a local recommend your restaurant to a tourist. What a pleasant surprise! After nearly sweltering in the Rasiglia heat, we were able to enjoy the fresh air and delicious food at your restaurant. If I have the opportunity to visit the area again, I will definitely return.

23/07/2026: As always, restaurants located just a little away from the most popular tourist spots are the ones to choose from, for food quality, service, and reasonable prices; Il Picchio Verde follows this rule. There were two of us, and we ordered two mixed appetizers (one called "Picchio Verde," the other "Locale"), which alone would have been more than enough to fill us up, given the generous portions. But we hadn't expected this, so we also chose a third appetizer, which replaced a main course (a porcini mushroom omelette) and a plate of fettuccine with truffles. These were also delicious and consistently generous. Finally, we finished with fruit and tiramisu; we drank a half-liter carafe of white wine and a bottle of mineral water. The service was attentive and extremely friendly. The price was €68. What else can I say? Well done, and thank you for the excellent lunch!

01/07/2026: Someone wrote that you have to be there to feel the atmosphere. It's true, Nino is wonderful, he knows the flavors – trust his recommendations. We left with cookies and bread for breakfast. Everything was incredibly fresh; I've never had such juicy mussels 🥰

30/06/2026: The hospitality is like being welcomed by a family member! The atmosphere is homely and the food is exquisite! You can taste it in both the presentation and the flavor, as it's cooked with love and passion! Everything was excellent, from the appetizers to the digestifs (also homemade). The rice, potatoes, and mussels were one of the best I've ever had, and the roasted mussels were delicious. Good value for money. We'll be back when we're passing through!

11/06/2026: We stopped in Cascia for the sanctuary of Santa Rita and then stopped at this trattoria. It was a perfect choice; the owner, Walter, welcomed us very warmly without having to reserve a table for four. We ordered four tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, expertly prepared and seasoned in the kitchen by his wife. The aroma and the hunger meant we didn't have time to take any photos. ☺️ "We recommend." For the main course, pork chop and various side dishes. Finally, he delighted us with the house dessert. We personally complimented him and now we want to share this experience with other travelers. Thank you again for your kindness and availability. 💯💯

07/05/2026: Everything was excellent: the food, the service, and the price. While we waited for our dishes to arrive, we were treated to a complimentary appetizer of bruschetta stuffed with their porchetta: F A B U L E!!! Since we hadn't ordered one of their generous platters, we made a point of returning. The dessert also deserves a special mention: the millefeuille with cream and black cherries was delicious.

10/08/2026: The place is very quaint and pleasant. The service is adequate. The sore point is the food. Tasteless. We ordered the three-texture eggs and the porcini and truffle strangozzi. No flavor was found. Too bad.

10/08/2026: Nice place, but nothing special. Service was average, though quite slow. The strangozzi with truffle and porcini mushrooms disappointed me: all you could smell was the truffle, but the taste was practically nonexistent. Overall, a decent experience, but not a restaurant that left me wanting to return.

On vacation in Assisi with my wife and daughter, looking for a restaurant to try, we had a stroke of luck... a delightful dinner, enjoying the fantastic view and the spectacular sunset... but above all, the owner and staff were professional and attentive to every need... the cuisine was truly TOP... from appetizer to dessert, everything was exquisite, with an excellent selection of wines... unbeatable value for money... 100% satisfied, congratulations... highly recommend...

05/05/2026: If only I had 6 stars.......!!. A fantastic journey to discover the flavors of Basilicata. You absolutely must try the fava beans with chicory and the bread meatballs...and then everything else...the more the merrier! Enjoy your meal!!

10/07/2026: The atmosphere is charming and tidy, enhanced by the large fireplace in the main room where the expert Julio cooks the meats. The service is excellent: we were welcomed immediately and seated, always prompt and attentive (the only small flaw: a few more smiles wouldn't hurt!). Let's move on to the food: we started with an appetizer of cured meats and cheeses for two, which, unfortunately, didn't wow me; they were good, but they didn't strike me as artisanal. The real highlight, and the main reason we came, however, was the meat! We ordered a T-bone (Florentine steak) for two, weighing about a kilo: perfectly cooked rare, perfectly red in the center, incredibly tender and juicy on the palate. Truly excellent! We were pleasantly surprised. Congratulations!

12/08/2026: The lady who welcomed me was wonderful, super helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was very well-kept and clean. I highly recommend it. The rooms had air conditioning, a refrigerator, and were equipped with everything you need. If I were to return to this area, I'm sure I'd stay here first. :)

29/07/2026: We dined here this evening and had a very positive experience. The food offers excellent value, and the outdoor terrace is truly delightful for a summer dinner. If you're looking for sophisticated dishes or cuisine that focuses primarily on aesthetics, this is probably not the place for you. If, however, you value flavor, substance, and generous portions, then I recommend it without hesitation. We started with bruschetta, which was excellent and at a price that's truly hard to find these days. The sautéed mussels and clams was plentiful, well-balanced in flavor, and truly tasty. The pizza was also good. The service deserves special mention. There was a small error with our order, but it was resolved immediately, with great professionalism and courtesy. We also had the impression that a discount was applied to our bill without even being noticed: a discreet gesture that I greatly appreciated. Mistakes can happen to anyone; what really makes the difference is how you correct them. In this case, they demonstrated customer service, and this outweighs the initial oversight. We'll definitely be back. Kudos to the entire staff!
