10/08/2025: The craziest, most beautiful, best restaurant in the world! A crazy welcome, unparalleled generosity in the portions, and among the customers a crazy pianist, an Asian singer, and a choir singing for my wife's birthday. ❤️

06/08/2025: Restaurants like we love so much and which are becoming increasingly rare. A great restaurant thanks to the owner's heart, who treats us like regulars, like family. It was very frustrating not being able to answer him in Italian. The menu is a surprise, you just have to trust him and enjoy the delicious authentic cuisine of the country girl. After 2 weeks spent in northern Italy, then in Tuscany, restaurants for lunch and dinner, it is here, in Umbria, that we were best received, that we ate the best, and that we fell in love. 03/08/2025: An excellent restaurant offering cuisine that perfectly reflects the local area. The truffle dishes are simply divine. The very friendly owner is able to advise you on the selection of dishes, and the house red wine is also good. The dining room staff is very friendly and helpful.

Брали детям жареное мясо на гриле (большая порция на двоих); кньоки с трюфелем, дегустационный сет из бутеров с местной рыбкой (из озера); осьминог; ; вино. Нам повезло, перед нами позвонили и отменили бронь на террасе и это был последний столик. Поэтому рекомендую делать бронь заранее. Ресторан напротив (бистро) тоже их же. Но там блюда больше бистро (тартары и что-то ещё)

31/07/2025: Due anni fa, dopo aver visitato la Cascata delle Marmore, ci eravamo fermati a mangiare in questo locale. Ce lo ricordavamo bene …ed infatti non siamo rimasti delusi. L’atmosfera familiare e accogliente ci ha ancora una volta messo a nostro agio. Abbiamo ordinato un tagliere con salumi e formaggi tipici della regione, accompagnato dalla salsiccia umbra: un concentrato di sapori locali, ingredienti genuini e porzioni abbondanti. I prodotti sono ottimi e la qualità si percepisce ad ogni morso. Il personale è cordiale, attento e sempre disponibile, come confermato anche da numerose recensioni entusiastiche di visitatori che, come noi, ne hanno apprezzato l’accoglienza e la preparazione del servizio. Se cercate un luogo autentico dove gustare prodotti umbri in un contesto semplice ma curato, “La Cascata dei Sapori” è assolutamente da tenere in considerazione. ✅ Secondo me: • Perfetto per uno spuntino o pranzo tipico dopo la visita alla cascata o al belvedere. • Atmosfera rilassata, tavoli anche all’aperto all’ombra degli alberi. • Ideale per provare salumi di Norcia, formaggi locali, porchetta, salsiccia e piatti veloci. • Ottimo per gruppi, famiglie o coppie in cerca di autenticità. • Prezzi onesti (intorno ai 15 € a persona) con porzioni generose. 03/08/2025: My husband, my daughter, and I went for dinner this evening. The place is very nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, but the main problem was when I ordered panzanella (a typical Umbrian dish that I know very well, since my husband is originally from Orvieto) and was brought a small bowl of cherry tomatoes with a few breadcrumbs and two basil leaves. When it came time to pay, I mentioned this to the lady, and that I would therefore have liked to pay for a cherry tomato salad and not for the dish I had ordered. But to no avail, as upon leaving the restaurant, I looked at the bill and saw, to my dismay, that guest satisfaction isn't the restaurant's priority. I certainly wouldn't go to waste for two or three euros, but a small discount would have been appreciated. It's a shame because my husband and daughter said the first courses weren't bad, but when I return to Orvieto, I definitely won't choose Il Capitano del Popolo again.

12/08/2025: For a vegetarian in Italy, the existence of a vegetarian restaurant is something of a legend, so the few times you come across one, you absolutely have to try it. The place is very elegant and well-kept, and the first courses we tried were truly top-notch (cacio e pepe and legume soup). The wines were excellent. Unfortunately, the dessert was disappointing: a deconstructed "cheesecake" (as culinary experts say), composed of a rather salty biscuit part, a soft cheese part that wasn't sweet enough, and oversized peach pieces with no flavor or seasoning. It's a real shame about the latter, but I absolutely recommend the place anyway. The prices aren't cheap, but you know those in advance, so as always, you can't complain afterwards.

10/08/2025: 5 out of 5 stars is a must!! The food, atmosphere, and staff are truly unique!!!! ...p.s.: while waiting for service, you can visit the Roman caves just below the restaurant.... We'll definitely be back

09/08/2025: Excellent trattoria with an interior reminiscent of a medieval castle and reasonable prices. Delicious food. Highly recommended.

13/08/2025: The restaurant is located in the center of Marsciano, and there's easy parking 150 meters away. Traffic was closed that day, so we ate on the street in a very nice location. The food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the Umbrian focaccia with sausage, pecorino cheese, and chicory. The service was quick and efficient, especially from Sabrina, who is very friendly and approachable. I think the price was fair for the quality: we spent €66 for an appetizer, a first course, a second course, and two glasses of wine. I recommend booking.

10/08/2025: Fantastic food - the cheese marshmallows were particularly amazing, as was the chocolate fondant cake served in a cute wrapped present with a bow. Location with a beautiful view and staff were wonderful and friendly and full of life. Highly recommended .

12/08/2025: A dinner with friends in Castiglione del Lago... nothing... we really tried to find something wrong... but it's a wonderful place with so much good food, fantastic staff and a super kind owner who did his utmost to make us eat given the amount of people... tartare like never before... side dishes that are something absurd... shame we're not close... super fair price for such incredible quality... we hope to return as soon as possible, perhaps around Christmas to see the famous Christmas tree... thank you so much...
