Trattoria Da Volpelli In Umbertide

A welcoming, family atmosphere with a menu rich in typical Umbrian delicacies. I recommend booking as it's always crowded.

We went for lunch on Saturday. I booked through TheFork. The restaurant is located along the road but has parking right next door (it might be harder to find in the evening for dinner). The restaurant is clearly laid out in the style of a village tavern, which I personally found quite appealing. Rustic yet down-to-earth, it makes you feel at home. The waiter and owner are very attentive, both in welcoming you and quickly taking orders. Excellent wine list and fairly varied menu. If the place is busy, there may be some traffic from other tables, but you can still chat at your table. We ordered a first course, a second course, and coffee. The quality and portions of the dishes were truly excellent. They even offered us a complimentary amaro, bringing several bottles of their own homemade amaro directly to our table (which is appreciated, as this custom has become obsolete in restaurants). We spent €100 for two. A fair price considering you eat well, a lot, and you can taste the care and authenticity of the ingredients and cuisine. We will definitely be back.

The specialty is certainly the truffle which is used masterfully in dishes.

The atmosphere is refined but has managed to maintain that rustic touch that I love so much. The food is truly delicious. The ingredients are excellent. Olive oil and truffles are so much, so much! The fettuccine with goose ragù is spectacular. The cheese selection is very good. The service is friendly, but average. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food.

The owner is brilliant at everything, from recommending dishes to entertaining customers! But the food really stands out! Amazing: wild boar, truffle, various spreads on bread... even the pappa al pomodoro! Highly recommended if you're passing through! I definitely recommend it!
