18/10/2025: It was so busy we had to sit upstairs; tried the soup which was delicious - will be back for breakfast tomorrow as the pastries, fruit (figs, apricots, dates etc) looked so inviting - yum

07/10/2025: I've tried it several times for lunch and it's always been a pleasant experience, a simple choice for an unusual lunch. I've tried the spaghetti with clams several times and it's always excellent. The restaurant's strong point is definitely the extensive wine list at very reasonable prices. The service is friendly and attentive.

17/12/2025: This ended up being my favorite dinner of our entire trip to Tuscany. The staff was incredible and genuinely accommodating. I even called from the U.S. to make our reservation. I tried my best Italian, they met me with their English, and somehow we understood each other perfectly. This is clearly a place the locals adore, and it was evident the moment we walked in. I’m pretty sure we were the only tourists there, which made us love it even more. The menu was surprisingly available in English, though not everything made complete sense but that was part of the charm. Our server did a phenomenal job guiding us through the menu and offering thoughtful recommendations. The pasta dishes were exquisite. My husband decided to be adventurous and ordered a mushroom pasta (despite hating mushrooms) and ended up absolutely loving it. My ravioli with sage was unforgettable. I still think about it. I can’t quite pinpoint what makes Ristorante L’Altana so special. It’s a simple restaurant, nothing overly fancy, yet there was something about the food, the ambiance, and the beauty in its simplicity that made it stand out as the highlight of our trip.

12/12/2025: The maltagliati were excellent, but the tagliata was very salty, I couldn't finish it.

23/02/2026: I don't see many Korean reviews, but I was completely satisfied. It was luxurious, friendly, and not expensive. I went alone as a woman, but I didn't feel uncomfortable.

31/10/2025: I’ve been here several times in the past couple of decades but first time since 2017 I could come back and again it was amazing. I’m gluten free and they made the most delicious truffle risotto fresh and perfect. It’s more about the atmosphere and better if you can eat all the gluten but still I’m glad to come back. Nice people and perfect Tuscan cuisine.

11/10/2025: The dishes are also excellent to look at, the service is excellent and the interior of the restaurant is intimate.

26/01/2026: We had lunch at Trattoria Canuleia during a weekend in Lucca. In addition to the kindness of the entire staff, both during the reservation and during lunch, we had the opportunity to try very good local dishes in generous portions. It will be a must-visit when we return to Lucca :)

23/02/2026: A very simple and charming place. A very homely cuisine where you can enjoy local dishes, definitely freshly cooked. In the winter, the upstairs dining room has a wonderful fireplace that's always lit. The food is very good, some dishes could perhaps be improved, but the value is excellent! Fair prices, €30 per person for a hearty meal. It must be lovely in the summer too, with the outdoor terrace.

22/02/2026: We found ourselves by chance in this truly enchanting house converted into an inn... furnished in the style of times past... and you feel invaded by a homely, family atmosphere. Excellent food cooked just like grandmas used to... very kind and attentive service. We will definitely be back and I recommend anyone who hasn't been to try this enchanting place.
