15/03/2026: We went to Alan's for a birthday party, and they gave us the entire dining room to ourselves. The food was excellent; the Chianina fillet was incredibly tender and delicious! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. A great experience! 😁

09/01/2026: Very kind, delicious meat. As campers, we took a short detour to Camaiore based on the wonderful reviews, and we were not disappointed. We purchased a 1.5 kg Chianina steak, wonderful, which literally melted in our mouths once cooked! We thank the lady for welcoming our two curious children with such kindness (and meatballs). 🥰 Highly recommended.

26/04/2026: I've known this place for over 25 years, and even though I've moved, I still enjoy the delicious food. It's reasonably priced, the dishes are special, the fish is excellent, and the owners are wonderful. Highly recommended!

02/03/2026: A little hidden gem, perhaps penalized by its slightly out-of-the-way location in Versilia. However, it's definitely worth the detour. The open kitchen, run by expert women, is a guarantee of quality and generosity, and anything off-menu (the cicadas, in our case) is definitely not to be missed. But overall, everything is excellent, plentiful, and beautifully presented, from the seafood risotto with squid ink, to the fried dishes, to the baked sea bass, the cod, and the excellent grilled vegetables (there were six of us, and we tried a bit of everything). And then the small space is filled with plants and flowers, making it feel like a paradise. Everything is spick-and-span, the appliances are meticulously maintained, the bathrooms spotless, and the service is discreet. The prices are definitely under control considering how well and how much you eat. Congratulations, truly...we'll be back soon!!!

25/04/2026: An excellent experience at this osteria in Piazza San Francesco: carefully crafted dishes made with quality ingredients. Francesco in the dining room is an attentive and friendly host, while chef Lara in the kitchen creates tasty and carefully crafted dishes. Lara's desserts are truly exceptional.

08/04/2026: The food was a bit heavy, but good. The service was quick and the price was reasonable. The fried chicken was excellent! The waitresses were a little strange because when we went to pay, they teased us with jokes and inappropriate smiles.

02/04/2026: We went for lunch expecting a nice little place recommended by the Michelin guide. The location was nothing special (the glass in the beautiful front door was dirty!), and the table setting wasn't even complete with the cutlery wrapped in paper napkins. The lady who welcomed and served us was very kind and attentive. The background music was very pleasant. The bill seemed excessive to me. Thanks anyway!

17/12/2025: This ended up being my favorite dinner of our entire trip to Tuscany. The staff was incredible and genuinely accommodating. I even called from the U.S. to make our reservation. I tried my best Italian, they met me with their English, and somehow we understood each other perfectly. This is clearly a place the locals adore, and it was evident the moment we walked in. I’m pretty sure we were the only tourists there, which made us love it even more. The menu was surprisingly available in English, though not everything made complete sense but that was part of the charm. Our server did a phenomenal job guiding us through the menu and offering thoughtful recommendations. The pasta dishes were exquisite. My husband decided to be adventurous and ordered a mushroom pasta (despite hating mushrooms) and ended up absolutely loving it. My ravioli with sage was unforgettable. I still think about it. I can’t quite pinpoint what makes Ristorante L’Altana so special. It’s a simple restaurant, nothing overly fancy, yet there was something about the food, the ambiance, and the beauty in its simplicity that made it stand out as the highlight of our trip.

16/11/2025: We had meat, two steaks cooked to perfection and of high quality, with a side of caramelized onions and baked potatoes. Excellent service, attentive staff, ready to accommodate every request. Highly recommended.

19/04/2026: Finding a table on a Saturday night in Lucca is never easy, but the host's helpfulness was the first positive sign: despite the restaurant being packed, within five minutes they had us seated at a well-protected outdoor table in a very quiet restricted traffic zone. It's immediately clear that they've had decades of experience here, and the menu speaks authentic Lucchese dialect. My wife had the homemade tordelli: exceptional, undoubtedly among the best I've ever eaten, with a truly special sauce. I chose the Garmugia, an ancient dish that the host guarantees is made only with fresh seasonal produce, if available, and in April they were. The result is an explosion of aromas, rich and consistent, not the usual soupy soup. A special mention goes to the meat, served in a hot cast iron pan to keep it at the right temperature. I'd like to emphasize the quality of the cut: it was "authentic" meat, pleasantly tough, the kind that needs to be chewed well to release all the authentic flavor of the beef. Nothing like those melt-in-the-mouth, tasteless meats; here, the flavor is bold and, combined with the wild herbs and chives, it was a total delight. We finished on a high note with a buccellato mascarpone, which surprised me with its deliciousness. The house wine paired well with the dinner, and the service was what you'd expect from a traditional restaurant: attentive, precise, and with that Lucchese charm that makes you feel right at home. If you're looking for true tradition, far from the trends, Anna and Leo are a guarantee.

18/04/2026: The staff is incredibly kind, they make you feel at home. The tordelli are out of this world, truly unique! And the gnocchi... simple but delicious, they taste just like grandma's cooking, the authentic ones from days gone by. We'll definitely be back, well done!
