06/05/2026: I don't understand such a low rating. It's the best place in the area. You'd expect a place like this to have average food, great classic tiramisu, and a delicious pistachio beer. 10/10 for me.

28/07/2026: At Gitanos, you can experience the full essence of Messina's tradition. The mixed fried fish is exceptional: incredibly fresh, light, crispy, and rich in flavor. The saury, a true local specialty, is also excellent, prepared to perfection. The sea bass is incredibly fresh and cooked with great care. To top it off, the traditional Messina gelato and foamy ice creams are simply delicious and the perfect way to end a meal. All this is accompanied by impeccable service: kindness, warmth, and friendliness make every customer feel welcome. A place that showcases authentic local flavors with quality ingredients. A well-deserved five stars!

21/07/2026: Once they forgot my order and I waited in vain, the same thing happened to me two days later. Every time I go I have to ask for the table to be cleaned because it's cleared but dirty. The service needs an overhaul, but otherwise excellent!!!

17/06/2026: I went to this restaurant for a birthday party with a fixed-price menu. I think it's best not to order the menu for everyone because it's really too much. The quality is good but not exceptional. There are too many dishes that obviously have to be liked, otherwise you risk, as happened to our hosts, taking home an inconsiderate amount of food. The first courses were decent, nothing exceptional. The homemade ravioli were jumbo, but I had some doubts about the contents. The second course of mixed meats was good, and the salad was the one from the bag, which was all left over. The staff were courteous and friendly, and we had a lot of laughs. The three stars are only for the very slow service despite there not being many of us in the dining room. Less quantity, more quality, and appropriate timing—that's my advice.

08/06/2026: I've been coming here for a while now, and it's always a pleasure to return. I find the same homey atmosphere here. Welcoming place; amazing staff... what more can I say other than highly recommended.

11/07/2026: The strawberry granita is unfortunately too sweet, a real shame for someone like me who loves pairing it with cream. The brioche, on the other hand, is very good; I've only had it reheated once (in that case, the crumb was still decent, but the texture was noticeably affected). A special mention goes to the staff: one of the younger guys is really helpful, quick, and polite.

30/06/2026: Overall great experience ! Amazing wine and stories to tell. The food was great as well as the service. There’s no outside dining but worth going if you want a nice meal outside the tourist area.

03/06/2026: Excellent experience, truly delicious pizzas, especially the "Carbonara." The mixed fried pizzas are also good, and the staff is friendly and fast. Ambience: shopping center, not much to say. Prices are reasonable. I recommend it.

03/08/2026: Magnificent restaurant!!!!! The view is sublime and we ate very well: arancini, pizza, grilled vegetables, cannoli…. Everything was delicious!

24/07/2026: I don't usually leave negative reviews, nor do I enjoy doing so. I chose this place based on the good reviews. A fish-based dinner for two: €43 per person, including a mixed fish appetizer, two grilled fish dishes, two side dishes, one water, and two coffees. I wouldn't have considered it excessive if the fish had been well-cooked and in sufficient quantity, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case (some pieces of fish in the grill were really tough and difficult to chew). Perhaps it would have been better if we had opted for a first course.

21/07/2026: Excellent restaurant for dinner in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto! The place is charming and elegant, the service super fast and attentive. The gentleman who recommended the wine was truly welcoming and friendly. I recommend the swordfish caponata and the deconstructed cannoli.

12/10/2025: Good morning! Marco and his entire staff welcomed us with such warmth, kindness, and friendliness. The menu is extensive, original, and made us smile (the "minchiolini" were a real treat!), plus everything was truly delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening, we'll definitely be back!
