Gitano's In Messina

We are loyal customers, like many others who frequent this fantastic restaurant where the food is excellent, everything is good, the staff very courteous and the management by the owners is impeccable.

The fish was delicious and plentiful, and the pizza was made with quality ingredients. The gelato deserves a special mention, as it's better than many other ice cream parlors: the cinnamon and gianduja are a must-try!

I eat here often. The kitchen is always ready to prepare tasty food. Fresh fish. Attentive and friendly staff. I'll definitely return. Highly recommended. 👏👏👏👏

Excellent service, very attentive and qualified staff, a charming location overlooking the Strait of Messina, and the food—most importantly for a restaurant—is truly unique. I have NEVER once been disappointed by anything I've eaten; the portions are generous, and the quality is 10/10 if we use tenths and 100/100 if we use hundredths.

Sole e Primavera Pizza I've been to Gitano's (the one in Torre Faro) and tried the Sole e Primavera Pizza. Overall, it was a positive experience, but not exceptional. The pizza arrived piping hot, with a thin crust and fairly crispy edges, cooked well in the oven. The crust was light, not rubbery, and it held up well even after a few minutes. "Sole" Topping: A nice mix of fresh cherry tomatoes, grilled zucchini, eggplant, basil, and perhaps a touch of buffalo mozzarella or fiordilatte (I don't remember exactly). The flavors are fresh and spring-like, with a good balance of vegetables and cheese. Not too heavy, so easy to digest. The "sole" probably comes from the sweet cherry tomatoes and the drizzle of extra virgin olive oil at the end, which gives it a bright touch. Strengths: Good-quality ingredients and noticeably fresh. Weaknesses: Perhaps a pinch more salt or a slightly bolder topping wouldn't have gone amiss. Good, but not unforgettable. Overall rating for the pizza: 7.5/10 Positive, honest, and well-made for a medium-high-end pizzeria/trattoria. Ideal for those looking for a light, vegetarian pizza without overdoing it. We had dinner this evening with my girlfriend. The pizza was very good, I also recommend the gluten-free one; the dough was excellent and it was cooked well. The owner is a nice guy, as are the staff, who were kind and helpful. We'll be back soon.

There wasn't much of a crowd, maybe because it was Monday, but we ate really well. The octopus was delicious, and the fried fish was too. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly.
