What a GEM in Taormina! The best meal we have had here. 💯 Everything was just perfect, from food to service! We highly recommand this place!!

Overall great experience ! Amazing wine and stories to tell. The food was great as well as the service. There’s no outside dining but worth going if you want a nice meal outside the tourist area.

Excellent experience at this restaurant. We loved the food and the atmosphere. The sommelier is truly knowledgeable and can find the right wine for you. Prices are slightly above average in the area. The only flaw that left a bitter taste in my mouth (literally) was when we paid €7 each for two shots of amaro (drank standing at the bar). Good, but perhaps a little expensive.

Absolutely incredible experience. Starting from the fact that there’s no wine list, instead you have the expert Gabriele guiding you through the wines and pairing them perfectly with each course. An absolute masterpiece of an experience. Beautiful food by Chef Mario! The presentation and flavours are impossible to find anywhere else in town. FULLY RECOMMEND!!

A fantastic experience, a little off the beaten path. The gentleman who greeted us and offered advice was very knowledgeable about his products; it was a real pleasure to discover the Sicilian wines he recommended. As for the food, everything was very good in my opinion, a little pricey for the portion sizes, but we are in Taormina, after all. The service was excellent; I sincerely recommend it for a lovely evening.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and wines were really good, but unfortunately food was disappointing. Our starters were ok but pasta dishes were dry and tasteless. Try something else than pasta.

19/04/2026: A wonderful, timeless place, where you want to let it pass by, losing yourself in a unique atmosphere. Authenticity is found in every detail: the courtesy of the staff, the excellent food, everything carefully prepared by them, in the background children playing happily on a manicured lawn, a true connection with nature! I think the best word to describe this magical place is welcoming, and it's not at all a given to feel so welcomed. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

03/07/2026: Osteria Il Tabacchio – hidden in the heart of the Nebrodi Mountains, just 50 km from Mount Etna. A two-lane road winds its way up from Capo d'Orlando. It seems endless until you finally see the sign on the left. Osteria Tabacchio had been on my wish list for ages. Cars and motorcycles were parked out front, and the stairs led down. The large wood-fired grill stood in front of the dining room. The aroma of grilled meat was already noticeable on the street. Thursday midday, almost 2:30 pm. It's an authentic, genuine Sicilian experience: an osteria like they used to be, and thankfully still are. Today's menu included homemade maccheroni with a sugo made from black saddleback pork from the Nebrodi and salsiccia, followed by castrato lamb with a green salad. Water, red wine, and then an espresso. It was the best castrato I'd had in Sicily, without a doubt. The intense flavor came solely from the grilled castrato (lamb castrated in its first months), which is darker and more intense. The dishes are listed verbally at the table. The selection is truly extensive, ranging from antipasti and several primi to various secondo. Wine is served by the carafe. The trip is worthwhile, but reservations are essential on weekends.
