The dishes are always different but equally delicious!
We also request a special gluten-free menu, and Casale del Notaio is able to accommodate this request as well. Top!!!

29/06/2025: We are at the restaurant and it was amazing, buonissimo. Everyone was very friendly, spoke many languages, made good recommendations, and explained all the food to us, etc but the cous cous was incredible. The best. So flavorful. We had the Royal cous cous and the fish cous cous. Unbelievable. Highly recommend eating here if you're anywhere near San Vito.
17/06/2025: This evening the hotel where I'm staying recommended this restaurant to me, guys, I can only tell you that it's a culinary experience between Sicilian and Tunisian food, it's something perfect. We had octopus with potato hummus as an appetizer, absolutely divine with a melting consistency like lindor, even my one and a half year old daughter liked it a lot, in addition we had a Tunisian brik, fried wafer with capers, tuna, cheese, potatoes and egg, the obligatory mopping up of the bread, then fish couscous, I took the complete one with vegetables, then served with fish broth, on the side, a mix of flavors never tasted before, and to finish the dessert we had a Tunisian brik, out of this world cassata without orange icing and Anna's mother's cassata.... Guys, highly recommended if you don't want to go to a typical restaurant but have a taste experience

I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars because the spaghetti frutti di mare dish was really delicious and had plenty of mussels, clams, and squid... but €2 per person for a cover charge seems unnecessary (I think you can claim it according to EU law, but this time I decided to enjoy it without getting angry). We didn't go inside the restaurant, but we sat directly on the terrace (a section of sidewalk separated by low panels). It seems like a place with its own style and good food.
20/06/2025: Excellent food: caponata, Sicilian salad, anchovies and pasta, and the homemade dessert (tiramisu and canolata). All delicious. Professional and friendly service. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a lovely after-dinner conversation, listening to Italian music and chatting with two of the sisters. We highly recommend this restaurant, located in beautiful Ortigia.

25/05/2025: We call on a Saturday evening to find out if there is availability for 9 people, the guy answers yes even if a little hesitantly, as if I were making fun of him. We easily found parking and sat down shortly after our arrival. I ask to be able to order for the children, the waiter says to send me his colleague who however arrives after at least 15 minutes. We order, we receive half of the drinks ordered and, as soon as some potatoes arrive, we ask for the other drinks, but this time too the waiter turns a deaf ear and heads towards other tables that, although they arrived after us, were served first.
Absent waiters, halfway through the dinner they warn us of missing products ordered (products such as raw ham, to be clear!) and, having ordered badly, they bring us a dish we did not order (we ask for roast potatoes and they bring grilled meat, calling it roast!)
Reading the reviews we expected 5-star cuisine which unfortunately was only an illusion; good baked sausage, decent pork shank... Pinsa undefined, rubbery and with mozzarella piled up.
The worst thing, however, was the waiting staff, while we were at the cash register the two boys rejoiced that we had gotten up, too bad that once caught they imitated some phantom TIC, something like that in a place like that is unacceptable.
Advise the lady to review the staff from scratch
The only positive note of the evening, the 1lt glass bottle of Coca Cola!

The dish that most impressed us? The red shrimp tartare: simply superb. Extremely fresh and expertly crafted, it highlights the authentic flavor of the sea without ever overpowering it. A perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication that showcases the value of local ingredients.

12/07/2025: I attended a friend's wedding at Baglio Borgesati, and I must say it was a flawless event, held in a truly enchanting location.
The evening began with an elegant outdoor welcome buffet, amidst centuries-old olive trees and a breathtaking sunset. The atmosphere was warm and convivial, with background music and beautifully set tables. The scent of the sea already anticipated the evening's gastronomic theme: all seafood.
Dinner then moved indoors, to a refined, air-conditioned room with high vaulted ceilings and soft lighting. The service was impeccable, and every course—from appetizers to main courses—was a journey through Mediterranean flavors. The freshness, quality, and presentation of the dishes were truly haute cuisine.
The evening concluded, once again outdoors, with cakes: a triumph of artisanal desserts, a romantic setting, and toasts under the stars. Exciting and unforgettable.
The Baglio perfectly blends tradition and modernity. Kudos also to the staff: attentive, professional, and always smiling.
If you're looking for a magical venue for a wedding or special event, Baglio Borgesati is an excellent choice. An experience that will remain in your heart.

13/07/2025: There were three of us, I can't help but rave about it, the food was excellent, the mussels were well-prepared and in good quantity, the swordfish cutlet was different from other places, served with baked potatoes and sauces available, I would go back right away.

02/07/2025: recommended by a local friend, saying it's the best espresso here. But, I dont know why the barista tried to ignore me when I stood patiently at the bar waiting for him finished chatting with his friends. When I finally tried to greet him by saying Ciao, he pointed out one finger and implied that he needed a few moments. Although the espresso might be nice and only cost 1.2 euros, still I won't recommend this place to other foreigners..
27/06/2025: Best cappuccino i’ve had in a long time! Delicious and nice strong taste of espresso. Loved the stand up bar & the croissant as well. Very reasonable price for the coffees and pastries. Will be returning for our daily cappuccinos while in Palermo!
