08/03/2026: Unfortunately, there's no point in serving excellent food when you're then forced to SCREAM to converse with your guests at the table, given the screams and shouts of rude children running around the tables the entire time, with their parents completely indifferent. Unfortunately, in Vieste, when there are no tourists, this seems to be normal, as the same thing has happened to me in other places. Perhaps a separate dining room or a children's area would be a good idea. The service also isn't commensurate with the price, which is quite high. The exterior, a beautiful olive grove, deserves special mention.

23/10/2025: Review: Chalet Degli Ulivi (visit in August 2025) Unfortunately, our visit was a disappointment – ​​even though we were really looking forward to it after reading so many good reviews. The service was completely overwhelmed: only one waiter was allowed to take orders, the others seemed to wander around aimlessly, only allowed to serve or clear away. The wait was correspondingly long – and even when our glasses were long empty, no one thought to ask if we wanted something else to drink. Our child's meal arrived 20 minutes before the adults', and our plates arrived one by one with an even longer delay. Nothing is more uncomfortable than when one person at a table is already finished while another is just getting started. The playground area was also a disappointment: there was a charge, although this wasn't clearly communicated anywhere – neither on the website nor on Facebook. We came specifically for that. Food? Mediocre. The pasta and pizza were okay, the meat was actually good – but when the wrong side dishes arrive (four sad potato slices for €5 instead of fries!) and the "mixed salad" consists only of green salad, without the fennel or cucumbers as advertised, you eventually lose patience. The ambiance is nice, yes. But a beautiful wooden house alone doesn't make a good restaurant. Anyone who relies on its view instead of organization, service, and honesty won't have satisfied customers in the long run. By the way, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for the bill – a worthy end to a frustrating evening. Conclusion: Nice restaurant, unfortunately with a lot of show and little substance. Three stars – only because the meat was really good.

05/05/2026: We went to this tavern with a taste of times gone by for a family dinner. We went to Bovino to introduce our children to their father's hometown. We stopped at this tavern. It was where I rediscovered the cuisine and flavors of when I was little and my parents took me to the village for the summer. I was very surprised to be able to taste the typical dishes that brought back my childhood memories. Thank you Saverio for this experience. Wonderful person who makes you feel at home.

24/05/2026: A restaurant recommended by a friend and visited to celebrate my birthday with friends. We booked and ate à la carte (they don't do a set menu on the weekend). The restaurant itself isn't large, but it's very well-kept, with its typical stone barrel vaults. Everything is very elegant, quiet, and well-kept. Our only personal flaw was the lack of lighting... I don't like such a large space, but I prefer to see both the diners and the dishes clearly. 🤷‍♂️ Other than that, the food is really good. The dishes are carefully prepared and the portions are adequate. There were 4 of us, and we ordered: 4 appetizers 4 first courses A bottle of wine 2 waters 1 second course Everything was really good, compliments to both the chef and the friendly and always attentive waiters. 👍👍 The price was in line with what we ate, perhaps even reasonable. 👏👏 We'll definitely be back!!

02/05/2026: We returned from Rome for the second time today for lunch. The fish was very fresh, the risotto was delicious, and the sea bream fillet with capers and olives was exquisite. Friendly staff. The owner, Gianni, even gave us a jar of their own olives. We'll definitely be back.

02/05/2026: The portions are a bit small for the price, but the food is quite good. The atmosphere is welcoming, even if a bit old-fashioned, for being close to the sea.

31/05/2026: Phenomenal atmosphere and food. My family questioned the first 3 minutes down and up the dirt road, past some olive groves and a few barking dogs. Eventually made our way to the agriturismo. The views were breathtaking. The staff so friendly. The food so delicious, the perfect Italian dinner. Breads with olive oil. Olives. Pasta. Beans. Sausage. Lamb. Wine. Dolce. Highly recommend going.

30/05/2026: We had an incredibly delicious meal. It was an adventurous drive to the location, but absolutely worth it. Although we hardly understand a word of Italian, the hostess proudly began telling us the history of the house. The terrace, with its flowers and view of the olive trees, is beautiful. Highly recommended; not to be missed for anyone driving towards Vieste.

09/01/2026: The atmosphere is super clean, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcome customers with kindness and professionalism. And the pizza, what can I say? Soft and light dough, just the right toppings, and you can even choose a version not listed on the menu. Must try radicchio, gorgonzola, speck, and buffalo mozzarella. EXCELLENT ☺️ The pizzeria also offers a round pizza option, with reasonable prices. Well done, and thank you always ❤️

06/01/2026: A small but very welcoming restaurant in the historic center of Ischitella. A wide selection of dishes and drinks. Ask Valentino for advice; he's very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended!

23/12/2025: Authentic place, refined and spot-on flavors. The bombette on this side are something else!!! Welcoming atmosphere and a pleasant evening, even caught a live show. Young and friendly staff, we had a really good time.

01/06/2026: A very nice restaurant located about 5 km from Vietri. It offers both meat and seafood dishes. The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable considering the area. A mixed grill of meat costs €12, and fish €15. The tiramisu is also excellent, prepared in a unique way, almost like a baba. The only downside is the cover charge: €3 per person seems a bit excessive, but that seems to be normal in this area.

25/05/2026: A lovely small restaurant where we received a very warm welcome from the hostess. The dishes were full of flavour, with the carbonara being the absolute highlight, honestly one of the best we have ever had. The tiramisu was delicious as well and the clafoutis made for a perfect ending to the evening. Definitely a place we would happily return to!

24/04/2026: A great discovery. A well-kept, clean restaurant with a varied menu and absolutely average prices. The quality and presentation of the dishes are excellent, and the service is attentive and meticulous. The pasta is homemade, as is the bread. Congratulations, I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

03/05/2026: Li Jalantuùmene is a hidden gem. A high end restaurant with a fixed menu based on fresh local and organic in season ingredients, it offers a beautiful culinary experience. I enjoyed being introduced to the flavors of Puglia and specifically from the Monte Sant’Angelo area. Each course added more flavors and notes that complimented one another. It was a joy to meet and engage with the chef.

10/05/2026: Porta di Basso was, quite simply, exceptional. The kind of restaurant that reminds you why certain dining experiences stay with you long after the evening ends. Set dramatically above the Adriatic, the atmosphere is breathtaking from the moment you arrive. As the light softened over the sea and the cliffs below, the entire evening felt almost cinematic — elegant, intimate and deeply connected to the landscape of Gargano. The cuisine was outstanding. Creative yet restrained, refined without losing soul. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully balanced and deeply rooted in the territory while still carrying the confidence of true fine dining. One of those rare tasting experiences where every course genuinely surprises and delights. What elevated the evening even further however was the extraordinary service. Warm, polished, passionate and incredibly attentive without ever becoming formal or stiff. The entire team made us feel genuinely welcomed and carefully looked after throughout the night. Porta di Basso is not simply a restaurant — it is a destination experience. A place where setting, cuisine and hospitality align perfectly. Without doubt one of the most memorable dining experiences we have had in Italy.
