30/03/2025: Locale piacevole e accogliente. Non una grande varietà di piatti, ma cibo di primissimo livello. Personale gentile e disponibile. Consigliatissimo.

02/02/2025: Very nice place, shame about the rest. Unclear menu, ingredients not all listed on the menu. Dull plating, the price is not worth what they offer. Waiters, sorry, but Without a teaching basis. Random service, men then women..etc...but the worst thing is that they didn't even bother to serve the little girl first (but last). I would never recommend this place to anyone.

18/03/2025: Locale accogliente, non rumoroso, proprietari gentili, attenti e non invadenti, servizio veloce il giusto, cibo ottimo e abbondante, ben presentato. Ci torniamo una volta ogni anno (in occasione del rifornimento di vino da un produttore del Monferrato) e finora mai stati delusi. Lo consigliamo!

11/01/2025: In un paese semplice tranquillo, Sala Monferrato, non ti aspetti un ristorante (altrettanto semplice) a questo livello. Il cibo, tradizionale, è spesso superlativo. I gestori, padre e due figlie, sono gentili e velocissimi, tenendo conto che tutto è fatto al momento. La solida tradizione con piccole innovazioni azzeccate , frutto di una professionalità in crescendo, va proprio premiata. Viene voglia di tornare spesso.

15/02/2025: Overall a disappointing experience compared to expectations. The environment is simple and rather pleasant. Several rooms with 2-4 tables each, on two floors in a rather beautiful period noble building. The dishes are not very accurate in preparation and presentation, I would say not very successful: without major defects but without character. Fixed fish menu for all tables. Wine list too short. The service was naïve, with some of the staff friendly but clearly and explicitly inexperienced and some more professional, however gross naivety and long waits in a semi-deserted place. Finally, the cost: it was Valentine's Day, agreed, but for what we had the cost was truly disproportionate.

12/01/2025: Pranzo con mio figlio e mio marito in questo locale storico ben ristrutturato. Il tavolo potrebbe avere la tovaglia stirata meglio. Il locale è riscaldato e offre un confort sufficiente. Il menù offre una buona scelta. Chiediamo 3 antipasti: uno misto salumi del territorio e due porzioni di lumache alla bourguignonne. I salumi sono squisiti, le lumache non esaltanti. Proseguiamo con 3 primi piatti: due paccheri al ragù di pescatrice e pesce spada e un piatto di tagliolini ai funghi porcini. Paccheri leggermente avanti di cottura, sugo discreto. Per concludere ordiniamo 3 dolci differenti: cheesecake, dolce cioccolato cuore morbido su letto di crema inglese e fantasia di gelati della casa. Tutti e tre molto buoni. Da bere ordiniamo due bottiglie d'acqua e 2 calici di vino. Mio figlio ed io gustiamo due ottimi caffè. Per questo pasto paghiamo 150 euro. Leggermente caro ma accettabile. Quello che è inaccettabile è il servizio: glaciale. Non un sorriso, nè un grazie quando si passano i piatti vuoti, nè una richiesta sul gradimento delle pietanze. Ci ringraziano a malapena quando effettuiamo il pagamento, la proprietaria - presumo - mi dice di poggiare la carta e poi di procedere all'inserimento del pin e tasto verde. D'accordo, eseguo. In questo locale per la prima e l'ultima volta.

23/01/2025: Fantastic location. We spent the last two New Years in this place and had a great time. Even the food, which is not a given at dinner parties, was of excellent quality. The dining room staff is very professional and always ready to meet customers' needs.

03/04/2025: We ate a burnt and extremely salty pizza. At first we ignored it because we were hungry, but when we got a little full we got up before finishing it. Why would you bring that burnt pizza to the customer? We paid a service fee of 5 Euros for this disgrace.

16/03/2025: Let's overlook the lack of preparation of the waiters, who are visibly young and not properly trained. At least almost all of them are polite. After 45 minutes of waiting, we asked about our order. The waiter asked and reported that the kitchen had answered 3 minutes. After 5 the only pizza on the table arrived. After 20 minutes it was finished and 3 of us watched our friend eat. Upon requesting the missing food, after another 5 minutes, our dishes arrived: 2 beef steaks with vegetables and a chicken (1/2 chicken, which is on the list and which at 8.15pm on Saturday evening was the last one left...) with chips. I would say that for €26 I would also like to eat the meat, not just the vegetables (see photo). To end on a high note, at the checkout they asked us if everything had gone well and to our statement "there was too much waiting and 4 of us weren't able to eat at the same time", the response was "it means we work a lot". And here our experience ends. Obviously NOT TO BE REPEATED.

24/04/2025: We went for Easter lunch. The place was full but the service was very attentive. We ate a lot and well.

21/04/2025: Disarming. We came across this restaurant by chance during our Easter Monday 2025 trip. The location is out of time, stuck in the 60s, from the furnishings, to the environment, to the building (decadent, in a stylistic sense) and even the very concept of the restaurant proposed, with the waiters passing by with vintage steel serving trays to serve the portions, is decidedly anachronistic (that day they offered a fixed menu for Easter Monday, so I don't think this happens when you order à la carte, normally). Quality of proposals medium-low. The cured meats were not bad, while the saffron and courgette risotto was overcooked and of school canteen quality (to give two examples at the extremes of my subjective approval rating). The price of the menu was quite adequate (35 euros each, wine included, nothing unforgettable), but I would have preferred to spend more and eat better. I'm sorry to write this review, I know that behind every restaurant there are people who work and are committed, and I hope that this point of view of mine can be used as a starting point for improvement. The staff is friendly and the view from the windows is pleasant. It really seems like everything has remained stuck in the 60s, almost an experience of historical re-enactment.
